  1. The problem with enforcing any kind of discipline measures is that you get the parent to show up in defense of their future state prisoner with the "what have you done to my baby" speech. Of course you have never heard from their sorry ass after all of the calls and emails, let alone met them face to face, until it's discipline time. I have a couple of kids who attended school in Smyrna, not Osbourne, and I can repeat some horror stories of what students said to teachers. It used to be a running joke to ride down through the area of Osbourne and Campbell and count more kids walking away f
  2. Amazing that 1/2 the school year passes before a caution school zone sign can be placed in front of PB Ritch Middle. There is still no pedestrian crossing area for the kids who walk. They are left to run across unlawful speeding traffic, Add a major manufacturing facility to the area? No problem. Throw in a few hundred more cars, big rigs etc. That will make it very safe for the children waiting for buses, walking, as well as the environmental impact. I've lived in areas where industrial and residential were defined. Your hopes of crossing the lines to either were null. Paulding needs to
  3. Things were different back then. It was nothing to go hang out with friends for a couple of hours playing games at the arcade or the corner store that had one or two games. No cell phones, just a promise of where I was going, either riding bikes, baseball, fishing, or playing video games at the store. Of course a promise I would return at the time I was told to by my parents. Good times. I fed pockets full of quarters into these games. Tempest Centipede Wizard Of Wor Frogger Battlezone Asteroids
  4. I am glad I stumbled upon this thread. I have learned a lot about myself through these posts. Besides the educational goals I have reached, 20 plus successful years in my field, in a professional atmosphere mind you, I have many faults. I have low self esteem and I like to self mutilate myself, due to my tattoos and piercings. I no longer wear the 12 gauge piercings, which are not "plugs", but yes I do have numerous self mutilating tattoos. They are not of anything "debil" related, but more heritage. Yes I am aware that in the business world my tattoos are not acceptable, which is why I wear l

  6. I pretty much felt that way all three times I have eaten at RL in my life. The last one being over 20 years ago thank God, and that was only due to desperation. Sorry fake anchors and fish on the wall, coupled with thawed cheap fish does not warrant a dine in facility. Nor does it justify having to pay extra for the "dine in" experience. Grew up eating fresh caught which was only hours out of the water. If I want junk sea food, I'll visit the freezer section at wally world. As far as the new place in Dallas, I'm curious as always about the freshness. If boiled is an option I'm always open
  7. I think many have Jim all wrong on this. He's really saying the same thing that all of the other hollywood stars and politicians are saying. Guns are bad and you as a private person really shouldn't have them. What you should do instead is have the most expensive up to date alarm system on your multi-million dollar home. Ride in limos when possible to avoid being alone and well, just to be comfortable. And last but not least, for God's sake, hire yourself an armed highly trained body guard, hell maybe two or three! Now see if you just follow those steps that the hollywood elite and Washin
  8. I guess there was a failure to communicate in my post. I did vote. I cast a resounding YES vote in the early voting sessions. I also spread the word to my family and friends. Forgot that I posted? I doubt it. By the way I voted YES because I agree the control is outdated.
  9. Exactly! No one can look me in the eyes and say honestly that there was not a hidden agenda at play. Our politicians pulled a random Tuesday out of their ass as the chosen day to vote on this issue. I have asked repeatedly since Governor Deal approved the bill allowing this vote, as to when citizens of Paulding County would get their chance. I have been to the polls a few times and looked it over just to make sure it wasn't on a back page. It wasn't until I read the post on Paulding.com that I realized the vote was set for yesterday. I have spread the word as much as possible. This could easil
  10. It's really hard to tell your son you support him 100% while he's telling you about his deployment, when you are 100% against the war he is going to fight. Hard in the aspect of keeping quiet on the matter of opinions and just offering all of your support. My son says he was trained as a soldier and this is the purpose of his job. I just make sure to say I love you many times and tell him I'm there for him. Later I curse at our government for stretching out a pointless war. There is a "troop draw down" taking place right now. Of course with fresh troops being deployed every week , it's a t
  11. The negativity can flow from California, ESPN, New Orleans, right here in Georgia or where ever the hell S-- originates from. Most of us could care less. I'm happy about this signing and can't wait to see this offense in action. From a fan of 39 years, Go Falcons!
  12. To each their own, but I've always viewed cruises as floating motels and hotels anyway, depending on the cost of the cabin. Personally I enjoy flying directly to the tropical location within a couple of hours and staying in a beach front cabin. You're sitting on the beach sippin drinks and relaxing with trees, sand, waves and wind. The days spent in a cramped closet on a boat I consider to be better spent exploring my destination and relaxing. You'll never catch me on a cruise. Like I said though, whatever floats your boat.
  13. Spare the climate change and global warming rhetoric. It's just typical Georgia weather for God's sake. For as long as I can remember on St Patrick's day, my family has either worn jackets and gloves or shorts and t shirts. It's just that time of the year when you can either get an ice storm or a day warm enough to head to the lake. It's Georgia's transitional weather time.
  14. Awesome! Sixteen and he has a work ethic already. Not to mention he's stimulating the economy. I'm sure he will be proud of his truck after working hard to pay for it himself.
  15. As far as a bar, I am on the fence with this one. It depends on the establishment. A place that sells a mix of food and drinks, maybe, a downright bar? Truth is, I would treat their place of business exactly like any other where I have encountered guns and alcohol. This has involved myself on hunting trips with fellow hunters who have consumed too much, or parties where the goers had a weapon present. I get the hell out of range of the weapon as fast as I can. Sorry, but alcohol and guns do not mix. This is coming from a man who is a die hard gun loving American. But I also value my life and e
  16. Humidity levels rise before the sun and tend to coincide with the actual temperature. But it's a city with an identity. As my birthplace, I have a lot of good memories there and will always cherish the area. I visit as often as possible and love to sit in Forsyth Park or down by the Waving Girl statue and reminisce. It's definitely more of a touristy city than it was 20 years ago, but if you know how to avoid the traps, it can be fun. It's come a long way from a time when my father used to sell cantaloupes and watermelons at the farmers market in the center of town. I will always have a place
  17. I'm not going to pursue to the college campus or bar section of the bill. But the one aspect that I have never understood is the mandating of guns inside of a church. We allow a business of any size to decide whether or not to allow guns within their walls. Yet a church, which is private property is not allowed to decide whether or not to allow it's members to carry a legal tool inside of it's walls. I am sure there are churches that are totally against having a gun inside their building, and then there are some that would welcome law abiding members to bring their weapons. I think this is an
  18. My post was not directed towards you specifically. You never mentioned the actual level as far as inches of tea were allowed to remain in your glass before the tip counter starting decreasing. What you said was, " I will tip 18%-20% all the time minimum and the tip goes up if the server keeps my tea glass filled. All other excellent service and good attitude increases the tip. If I don't see the server throughout my meal (and my tea glass sits empty)" I do know of people who base their experience on the fluid level in their glass. If that's the level of problems in their life, hey they're doin
  19. My kids have worked as servers and I must say the bad server stories are nothing like the bad customer stories. Yes the job is tough and I know the mindset of if you don't like it go work somewhere else. That doesn't mean that just because someone brings food to your table that they have to be beneath you. It's a shame to think their entire livelihood depends on whether or not the level of tea in your glass drops beneath 4 inches. People seem to want to go on some sort of power trip and flex their male parts by taking it out on the server at the local diner while they order the $10.99 special.
  20. Their business as a company took a bad turn when they looked to late fees to solve their profit woes. This all happened at a time when new competition was hitting the market with no fees, equal selection and better technology. It's been a downward spiral for them since. They tried to rebound and get on board to recover with technology and likewise distribution, but the customer base was long gone. I remember the last time I visited the store in Hiram was three or four years ago.I was returning a 90's action movie that was a few days over due that I could have bought from wally world for $
  21. Well now if this young "lad" was shaping pop tarts or fish and chips or any other sorts of foods into weapons, he should have his bum whisked away by the bobbies! Really? Use some damn common sense, and if it's not within your means, apply to the government to finance a search for a few ounces. Pop tarts? What a F-- bunch of dumb arses.
  22. The school was on winter break. They asked parents to volunteer to bring their kids by in order for the classroom not to seem empty. So the aspect of him showing up at school full of kids is a mirage. The white house and media have done this for ages with all of the politicians. It does make you wonder how many other stories have been bent to a degree and how much. As far as the respect issue. I could give a rat's a$@ about the office of the pres. What I say and think does not change just because the man steps into my back yard or his plane flies over my workplace. This country belongs to
  23. I didn't even watch the guy's response, politicians fighting is just not my thing. However when I heard something about a water incident, I thought he threw water at someone. Then I learned , Oh my God, He drank water! Well Holy F@ S@&$!!! Call TMZ! America is a f@$% joke.
  24. I don't get it, he was a big fan of Piers "no US citizen" Morgan, and Big Daddy Obama. He even spoke in favor of gun control. So did this jackass shoot his victims with a slingshot? Or is he just one big hypocrite like the rest of his cronies who have the motto,"Do as I say not as I do." If he is dead, good riddance.
  25. While she is in jail locked up at this time, there are people who have raped children who are being released on parole and serving probation. People who have actually taken a life, or maimed someone. But then again the fines for destroying a child's life are not so profitable as compared to the drug war.
