Oh Well. Falcons obviously didn't bring what was needed to the table to win. Hats off to Kolb. This game exposed a lot of weaknesses for Atlanta. They are a good team, but are still missing something, not enough "thunder" for lack of better term. Until they can come out and dominate their opponents instead of hanging on by a thread and winning in the last few seconds, they will play games like today. Still love my Falcons though.

I understand that they incur a cost and they want to cover it in a way. The inconsistency and with it being slipped in after years of being in business is what ticks people off. The bottle of ketchup or steak sauce on the table at your favorite steak house cost money too, will that be added into our bill soon? If restaurants start getting that airline mentality and think they can fee their customers to death they will lose them quickly. I know it's petty, but I've seen people leave a business in great numbers just because a charge was put in place for $2 on a simple item that used to be free.

I prefer sippin whiskey, but if I mix it with anything I pour in a little Coke.

I never realized this was a practice until a recent trip to the mountains. On our way back we decided to stop at Zaxby's where my son and I bought a fav from their menu, the chicken finger plate. Their chicken fingers are very good and pretty good size also, so you need more sauce than just one packet. I walked up to the counter to ask for extra packets of ketchup and two extra packets of their Zaxby's sauce where the manager told me he could "give" me the ketchup but he would have to charge me .50 each for the Zaxby sauce. I looked at him in shock and asked, "you're serious?" Folks I really t

I am really hoping for revenge tomorrow when the Atlanta Falcons go into Philly to play the Eagles. I've never cared for the Eagles anyway but this year it's even more intense. The way they came to Atlanta last year and beat us, running up the score with Vick, who I could care less about. Federal crimes and animal brutality aside, he took the team for so much money and led us to nothing but a huge break down. He concentrated on other things than his team and the game. He flipped his fans off and the whole city, literally and figuratively ,basically and then comes in here last year with people

You are certain to lose in the tournament if you go to him!

You brought up Talladega and I had to comment on the GA/Alabama state line. It confuses the hell out of me when the speed limit drops from 70 to 55 when you cross into Alabama. Here I am cruising along about 75 and all of a sudden you see the welcome to Alabama sign and a posted 55. Beyond that is a road sign blinking that reads speed limit strictly enforced. Mind you the landscape, and population DOES NOT change once you cross the state line, it is all woods. Now around here our speed limit goes from 70 to 55 the closer you get to Atlanta. After crossing the GA/AL line what happens the closer

I'd be careful getting out and approaching someone's car in the middle of traffic. It could lead to a very bad situation.

I've known a few people from S Korea and still know a few to this day. I've always known them to be very hard working ,active people. There's always a word here and there that's hard to translate over. The N Korea site just made me roll my eyes. I see they promote tourism and commerce, but I wonder if they will allow you to see the state of poverty and suffering that exist. -

Taking revenge out on a sick child is sure to earn you some face time with some higher powers at some time in your life. I always believe that things have a way of coming back around and a deed this harsh will be hard to pay for in the future. -
Our son is 20. He planned to join the military at an early age, so I can be happy for him knowing he is living his dream. Like others on here said, watching him walk away had me smiling so wide with pride, praying at the same time for his safety and shedding some tears. When he is away I notice every person in uniform even more than usual, every bumper sticker, and usually end up sharing stories with other families or retired or active military I meet. We look forward to his unexpected phone calls and emails, talk about a pleasant surprise. Thanks to all of you for the support and again thanks

Our son is serving in the US Army. He was home for a very short time and we gave him as many home cooked meals as possible. He basically created the menu himself and he deserved it. We took in all the home town sites and went on a ride through his favorite area, The Blue Ridge Mountains. The rest of the time we enjoyed time together watching our Braves and Falcons and just talking. He is my friend and a son that I am extremely proud of everyday of my life. Now he is gone again on a long deployment. It is so hard to see him go , someone that I enjoy my time with so much and love so dearly, but

Wife is from Michigan and she has heard it before. She hits me with words all the time I have never heard of and expressions also. I always give her a "what the h is that?" Then there's the way she even says her words. Everything with an "O" is drawn out to "OH". Of course the laughter really starts when she makes fun of me and my words. She says I just talk "funny" I'm from Georgia of course. Sometimes it's like two foreigners trying to talk to each other, what the H did you say? It makes for some fun picking though. She tells me to grab a pop at the store and I still say you mean a coke or s

SO IF YOU'RE A CHRISTIAN YOU CAN'T DO YOGA?

This whole story reminded me of when I was very young and my mother decided for us to attend a southern baptist church for a few months. The preacher decided to make a surprise visit one day to the house when my mother was doing some house work and was dressed in pants and had her favorite Elvis Presley album playing. She was annoyed that he came by unannounced and and that was only the beginning. He broke into preaching to her and reciting scriptures to tell her how women wearing pants and her listening to the king of rock and roll was a first class ticket to the bbq pit below. She told me to -
Congratulations to you and your son! It is so important that we realize that while we sit and watch our football games, cook out, shop, work or just do the normal every day things we enjoy doing. There is a line of men and women standing between us and those who would take away our simple things in life. A line of men and women made up of our loved ones that will protect us. Thanks to all of the families for the sacrifices you make and to the brave men and women who protect us. Tell your son thank you from another military father.

Anytime a suspicious person comes to your door or a loved ones, especially a senior citizen, there are things to defend against. Always ensure that all of your entrances are locked in the house, it's a common practice to keep the homeowner distracted at the door while a partner thief enters through a window or other door and robs you blind. They may keep you at the door or even have you walk into the yard to discuss work on the house or yard. It's also wise to be careful once the person has left that no one is in the house to rob. I also make it a point to keep my door open to a minimum when s

I was giving an analogy from my experience in the construction industry which is somewhat different from landscaping I will admit, but I deal everyday with private contractors. Comparing bids on venti mocha lattes and frapaccinos from mega corporations is a little far I would think. If the owner wanted less service then by god ask for it in the bid and at least tell the guy who has shown some loyalty to you to give another price based on "this" level of service or "these" products. Yeah I see that a lot too, two bids given from contractors showing different levels of work and products. There i

I hate to see things like this happen. You have to realize the type of people you are dealing with though. They have no respect for the elderly, the young or even those of us who work hard to contribute to society. They are the takers and that's all they will ever do in life is bleed us. They are like a pack of wolves( no disrespect to the animal itself), who roam our neighborhoods looking for opportunity. They watch for when we are taking that drink of water and that's when they encircle and take what they want. An older member of our group? They see them as weaker prey that is easier to catc

I see it all too often, the customer who accepts the lowest bid which is sometimes half the amount of the highest bid. A light, no excuse me, a spotlight should go off in your head if you are asking for bids and you receive 3 bids ,2 of which are within 10% of each other and then there's this bid in your hand that's 50% apart. These customers always choose the lowest and then weeks, or months later the contractor with the higher bid, that may have been on contract at one time, gets a call. The owner explains that the bid winner has been released due to poor workmanship, financial problems etc e

Yeah I'd say either they have a very very large family that has some serious allergy problem, ragweed is really bad right now and 96 Wal Phed might help. The muriatic acid might be for a home project, say a concrete floor in their garage that they need to prep for painting. The cat litter, hey what's unusual about having a kitty? A burner, well there are some hobbies that require a burner, or maybe just a camping type. Zip Lok bags for making sandwiches to take the kiddies to the park with all of the nice weather we have coming up. Digital scale because someone may be on a diet and just counti

I hate to be so blunt about this but I will tell you something that a man who had gone through divorce told me the day my ex wife asked for one. No matter how long you have been married and no matter how close you were, you are about to find out who you have been living with all those years. The true personality and heart is about to show, and it may be a little rough but able to deal with and fair, or it may be very dark and sinister. His words turned out to be very true. My ex took half my 401K, went into court bent over saying she was dying of some disease and even inquired to the court if

We've been signed up for Netflix for 3 months now and loving it since. We stream movies on the PS3 and our laptops. We can get movies through the mail and there are hundreds of movies to choose from that can be instantly streamed. The instantly streamed movies are ones that were released months ago but there are enough to keep you entertained by any means. We dumped the BB crap and love Netflix. This was the movies we put into the instant que stay there even after we watch them almost like a library. You can watch them , stop and finish later etc. Unlike BB where even if it was a 10 year old m -
I've been doing some of the same, just plain ole sugar added to boiling water. I stir in the sugar and then let it cool for a few hours, pour it in the feeder and then watch them swarm in like a bunch of crazy fanatics. I have actually had them dive bomb by my head as I'm putting the feeder back up.

I found a box set today in a used cd store and haven't stopped listening even now. He's just an artist that will always endure and is an American legend. My grandfather was a big fan and saw him numerous times in his early years. I can still remember my grandfather introducing me to Johnny Cash and I was hooked from that day. I would sit on the front porch and listen to my grandfather play a Cash LP and then he would play the same song on his Gibson L7. There's just not any artist around like Cash anymore who actually lived a life that they can translate into a song that moves you. Now days it
