  1. This was a tough game and I held my breath a few times when our players, Ryan etc, were slow to exit the field as well as the score board. With a team like the Lions it wasn't over till the time clock read 0. I have never disliked the Lions in all my years, and since I married a Michigander I actually pull for them more. Today was a house divided though, as she was yelling for her team and me for mine. I stated that I would pull for the Lions all year behind my Falcons, but not this game. I really hope Stafford is ok. Good for our Falcons, a win in the books!
  2. Before I moved to the Atlanta area a decade ago, I was surrounded by woods and people who owned hundreds of acres that would let me hunt and shoot on their property. Since I've been here most folks I know belong to clubs etc. I simply am looking to buy my two youngest sons rifles for Christmas, but will need a place to take them. Are any of you aware of a place nearby that will allow target shooting? There used to be areas associated with WMA where you could sight in a rifle.
  3. I remember the first time I walked into the pharmacy and saw the shelves empty of sudafed and claritin D. I asked the pharmacist and was told oh it's back here, puzzled me. Then he asked for ID and I asked why? When he gave me the whole meth ingredient explanation I was mad to say the least. I was ignorant of how to make the stuff, because I had not been exposed to it and was clueless. My youngest son's DR had prescribed Claritin and now I had to go into a data base to ensure that I was not a drug dealer. It still angers me to this day. I know I know, it's for the good of the community. I've
  4. We'll be watching tonight. My kids and I were watching the previews on Demand and had some comments. Darryl is traveling by motorcycle, which is great to maneuver between the abandoned cars, but bad choice when it comes to be snatched off by walkers. I would definitely be hitting a Army/Navy store and a local gun store. An RV is nice, but not mobile enough when it comes to maneuvering. Stay moving, but the first Humvee or Jeep I came upon I'm grabbing it and stopping by a fabrication shop to outfit it with some Road Warrior style armor. A turret with 50 cal, lots of extra fuel and food. I'd be
  5. Hated seeing them lose. You're right though, baseball IS reality TV. If I want to see karaoke, I'll go down to my local bar.
  6. Wife and I will be watching for sure!
  7. I am at a loss here. So airlines should make accommodations because the fat people receive federal money, or the airlines receive federal money? Not sure why that's a case for either one, but just curious. I love the part about it's not the person's fault their fat! Now that is an open statement in defense of every person that may be of a larger stature. Sounds so American these days for any mistake or fault, it's not my fault because of......... I agree with this, if you're taking up more than one seat, pay up.
  8. Just curious. I was thinking about the statement of obesity being directly related to genetics. After looking at the fact that America is the fattest country in the world and scanning other countries, maybe we're significantly different as far as genetics. I mean really even though other countries don't eat a diet as high in fat and cholesterol, don't fry their foods as much, eat more vegetables and fruits and less red meats, not to mention exercise more. It could be that we're just all genetically different. Right. As far as hormone problems, I know someone personally that suffers from t
  9. All this talk of Baklave and Blue Cheese makes me want to place a to go order at your homes! We're having Jack Daniel seasoned burgers on the grill, and hoping for a Falcons beatdown of the Packers.
  10. Thanks very much for the recommendations! I'm up for any of these trails, as long as I'm riding in the woods.
  11. I brought the mountain bike back out and plan to ride a couple of times a week. I know about local trails in the Atlanta area such as the one at Six's Rd etc, which I've tried before. I'm up for any in Bartow,Cherokee,Douglas, Polk, Etc, on the weekend but close to home during the week would be nice. I've never ridden on any trails here in PC but I have looked at Sara Babb and Mt Tabor. Do any of you have any suggestions of UNPAVED trails in or near PC? I am not looking to test skills, just get some exercise and enjoy the woods a little. I'd love to find one near the home so I could hit it aft
  12. Now see I knew this would happen. Last year I heard the excuse, the kids have to go to school the next day, although we know what the real reason was, Sunday Sunday Sunday! Now this year it's on a Monday night and guess what, the kids go school the next day. So I propose we move it back to Sat, maybe even make it always the last Sat in October. These have to be some confused kids. But here's another question for ya. When will we celebrate Christmas this year? It falls on Sunday. Let's be fair.
  13. Congrats! Any chance we can see the winning photographs in the future?
  14. Hate to hear about anyone being robbed of their hard earned possessions by some low life leech. I've had my car broken into and things stolen, at a previous address, but fortunately never my house. We have numerous people in our house for different issues, from cable repair, plumbing, to just people placing flyers on the door or delivering pizza. You never know when people get fired or maybe tell their friends about something they saw at xx house, which is why I make it known there is a 130 pd alarm system roaming in the house at all times, even when we are not home. Our rottweiler goes to the
  15. The wife and I have dreamed of running away to some remote area of the mountains for years, Alaska, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming etc. If just for a year, to live away from any profit reports, news, performance reviews, tv, and stress in general. I'd let my hair grow long, grow a beard, hunt and fish and we'd bring lots of books. Pick out a cabin somewhere removed from the sound of cars and sounds of civilization. The kids like it sometimes too, but just for a weekend getaway.
  16. Been a fan of the Braves and Falcons since childhood, and I will die as one. Yes there is no heimlich maneuver large enough to help these teams at times. But I can't and refuse to get rid of my team gear. Now I can sit back and watch with my wife, she's a Tigers, Lions fan.
  17. From what I can gather, it was an assignment that fit right in with the current lesson plan, which is the Middle East. It seems that a couple of the grades are learning about the Middle East at this time. Yes they could have picked Japan or China, although that would have made someone mad also due to some import/export argument, but the kids are studying the Middle East. It would be hard to discuss culture in that part of the world without mentioning some aspect of religion I would think. It permeates throughout Middle Eastern society and ignoring it in a lesson plan is like ignoring the eleph
  18. My son is currently studying the Middle East in middle school and I do not feel threatened at all. I have found in life that sometimes views, opinions, unfortunately negative at times, are developed out of non exposure to other cultures. I guess because I grew up playing with kids of different colors and from different countries, I was never afraid of them later in life. My first exposure to someone from the Middle East was at 12 when a Pakistani family moved in down the street and I befriended the son. I learned to love their food and culture and he learned to play football and baseball. I've
  19. Netflix is at again. I received an email today from the ceo explaining that they are now separating their DVD and streaming services literally. Two different sites, charges, even the name. I'm sorry but before I could just go to their site and pick MOVIES and now I have to go to two different sites pay different charges, separate ques on separate sites etc. I see their point, but I don't think they are getting the consumer's point. If I am to go to a separate site to pick out movies or even get dvd's you are inviting me to go to red box or to stream from Hulu or VUDU. Dear xxxxxx I
  20. I have Deadwood on my list of places to visit for sure. I absolutely love western history, art and enjoy photography, so Deadwood is a perfect place to visit. I have a lot of friends that have rode in on bikes that say it was awesome as well. I've been told if you love history it's cool, but if you like western history it's even better. I must say the series itself spiked my interest even more, my wife and I own and have watched the box set 3 times, and actually visiting the black hills would be awesome. To see where Wild Bill Hickok spent his last days and people like Bullock and Sol Star wa
  21. You can add another air show fatality to your 2011 list within 24 hours. My link
  22. Thanks for that one! Dave has always had a sense of humor and it was put to very good use in that one.
  23. I can totally agree on that one! As far as the hatred issue, I see it as calling someone out on the beliefs that they stand so high and mighty for in public, not hating him. If you want to stand on a soap box and yell to the masses about about how righteous you are, then you better be ready to live every second of the day by those words. Abandoning someone because they have become
