  1. When I first read the title I thought, " The pasta fairies..ha" so I read it to see what it really was and danged if they are not really pasta fairies. Hmmm, I guess the guy just really wants to wera that strainer on his head.
  2. I had big plans but was disappointed. I went to Sam's and got me some pork chops to grill then I went to the produce stand taht I always go to intending to get squash, tomatoes, and corn...but alas...no one was there. I drove to the spot were there is usually another guy parked selling veggies and nada. So I tucked my tail came home and put my chops in the fridge opened a can of green beans, a can of corn mashed some taters and ate the rotisserie chicken that I bought at Sam's but it was not satisfying because I had my heart set on those fresh veggies.
  3. The "frays" thing and the "appearance of a hole" always drove me crazy. It doean't make sense. If you can see skin, it's a hole. If you can't it should be okay. Sending those kids to ISS just to have their irritated parents screaming at you because of the appearance of a hole is just not worth it. But it doesn't really matter because only a few people will enforce it anyway.
  4. Clorox wipes, because they won't clean with anything else.
  5. It can be quite serious for some and only an inconvenience for others. It is a scary diagosis because you truly never know what turn it will take for you. I have a family member who has it and takes medicine for the symptoms and does very well. She has to take care to stay out of the sun or use really heavy duty sunblock but other than that she leads a fairly normal life. Then I have a friend who has the diagnosis and really suffers with it. I wish your sister the best. I am glad that she did get diagnosed so that she can get the treatment taht she needs. There are treatments to help.
  6. I have absolutely No problem at all with people who pierce their ears; right, left both, whatever. I also have no problems with tattoos. I just thought that since the man's first thought was to say "no" to his so he should stick to that. I thought the question was a parenting question not a question on what we thought of tats and piercings.
  7. Political correctness has taken all the fun out of going to work.
  8. I think you have answered your own question. I have to say that I agree with you too. As long as he is a child in your home it IS up to you to teach him the morals and lessons that YOU want him to know. There will be plenty of time when he of age for him to do the things he wants to do and make his own mistakes. I am also not really one to buy too much into the "pick your battles" thing. I have seen so much of that over the years of working in the school system. I am NOT saying that any of the previous posters here fall into the category that I mention but I have seen SO many parents
  9. I have two boys, 18 and 21. Only one of my boys ever really wanted his ear pierced and I told him he had to be 16 years old. By the time he was 16 he had changed his mind or had just forgotten. I never heard about it again. I did make it clear that if and when he did get it pierced that he would absolutely not have gauges of any sort. Some of the boys at school have gauges that are an inch or almost two in diameter. They look like they should be in National Geographic magazine. I would much rather see a tattoo. When my youngest son turned 18 and graduated from school he got a tattoo
  10. I'm goin' to see a gal about some fish tomorrow. She lives in the Cartersville area. Since I am going to meet her when she gets off work about 6 I thought I might take the hubby along and have an early supper. We are never in that area so we have no idea what kind of things Cartersville has to offer. Do any of you have any suggestions? Hubby doesn't like Italian so that is not an option. Other than that we are open for suggestions.
  11. Speaking of Cap N Crunch...try Cap N Crunch Chicken. We had it at Planet Holleywood when we were at Disney a few years ago and I googled the recipe when I got home. I fix it every now and then for a change and the boys LOVE it!
  12. Yes...Sookie is such a whiner. I have never understood how she could choose Bill over Eric. I will have to listen to the soundtrack now. I like Tara. LOVE LOVE LOVE Lafayette!! He just cracks me up. Sometimes I think the show has too many things going on at once but I keep watching. While it was off I kinda got addicted to Game of Thrones. Did you happen to watch that? If not, you should catch up with it on Demand. It is really good.
  13. I think Hoyt's crazy, doll lovin' mama might have something to do with it. I don't like Sam's greedy little brother either. He should have had a better aim when he shot him. The "new" Eric is very lovable campared to the "new" Bill.
  14. Truthfully, I wish about half of the kids that are in high school now and don't want to be would drop out, get their GET, and got to Tech school. This would alleviate the overcrowding at our high schools as well as stop trying to lump all the kids into one group and prepare them for college, which obviously isn't working. Kudos to the OP's daughter who wants to get her GED. I hope she finds out where to do it.
  15. So sad for the family. He was quite young.
  16. UPDATE: All the prayers must be helping. Although Josh is still in VERY critical condition and still comatose the doctors said that the see "purposeful movement" today and that is a good sign. I wanted to share with you a message that his mother sent to me. This is a voicemail that Josh's almost 3 year old daughter Mary left on his phone that they have been playing for him: "hi daddy..i love you daddy..i miss you hurry home soon...love Mary" I know that if he can hear that it must make his heart smile.
  17. This mornings update on Josh: He is breathing without the ventilator! He is still very deeply comatosed but every positive step gives us hope. Please continue to pray for him and his family.
  18. KRM---Krispy Kreme Okay, you said the first thing that popped in my head.
  19. I absolutely agree on the crime drama tv desensitization. I also think that from watching shows like CSI and the other forensic shows the juries are beginning to think that there has to be DNA evidence or there is reasonable doubt. You can come up with doubt for any case but it is not always reasonable when you look at the rest of the evidence. I don't think this jury looked at the doubt in comparison to the evidence to determine if it was in fact reasonable. I know there was molestation, drowning, and other theories thrown out there to cause doubt but when compared to the evidence there w
  20. It will be a miracle if he does make a full recovery but I believe that there are REAL miracles that happen everyday, and no one that I know of is more deserving of a miracle than this family.
  21. Thank you all. The more people that are praying the better.
  22. Yes I have noticed that. I know that Publix and Food Lion will give you rain checks to use at a later time though. I usually try to get them because they will be stocked again and when they are not on sale next week you can use your rain check and get as many as you want.
