  1. Is your friend working or volunteering?
  2. I am currently taking a Phlebotomy course at Kennesaw State University. I will graduate at take my National Certification test October 6th. I am looking for a place that I can shadow an experienced phlebotomist. I feel very confident in the education that I have received at KSU, but our clinical classes are in a very controlled lab environment. I would really like to spend some time with a "real world" phlebotomist. Ideally, I would like to find an internship but I realize that is difficult due to the liability issues in today's workplace. Does anyone have any ideas or know of anywhere t
  3. I have always felt bad for the both of them. George is so hurt and bitter and for good reason. He is also right, Casey should be held accountable. Cindy is doing what I think most mothers would, looking for a reason. I think she knows what her daughter did, she really needs to a reason. Unfortunately she will probably never get what she needs and it will eat at her for the rest of her life.
  4. I have a question.
  5. I want to ask a question to the women here but I can't find the women's forum and I also need the password. Can someone help me out?
  6. My only issue would be the safety of the student. This is a very young student at an elementary school. There would be older boys in the restroom at the same time with this student. To me that is a recipe for bullying and possibly even worse. I personally would not want my child put int hat situation.
  7. Nope...what I am saying is...if you are going to say you are something and take money for being that something, you should actually practice what you preach. (no pun intended) Honestly, I don't give two hoots what the guy says usually, but this is over the top and makes him sound crazy. So if me calling him crazy is "hateful", well, I guess I'm hateful, but that dude is nuts. Just calling it like I see it.
  8. I don't find him to be "hateful". I just think that a man who has sold himself as a Christian for years and years then suddenly says something that is so obviously unchristian makes me wonder if he is maybe getting a bit senile. Maybe he has Alzheimer's. Wouldn't that be a funky twist of fate for him? I am still trying to figure out how someone can be "kind of dead".
  9. My boys are 18 and 21 and I had them vaccinated on schedule without splitting them up. Both of my boys have neurological difficulties. I DO NOT know or have any facts to think that vaccines had anything to do with their difficulties. However, if I had known then what I know now I would have spread them out just in case. I would still vaccinate, but just not all at once.
  10. I kind of agree here. Just from the snippets of the show that I have seen it seems like he is saying that he is concerned that the juice companies get most of their apples from China, whose use of pesticides is not regulated in the same way as the US. I also heard him say that it is the long term effects of drinking it daily that concerns him. I think it is worth doing more research into. There is a definite rise in neurological disorders in children around the world. We are reasonably certain that there is something environmental fueling the rise. With 1 in 57 boys being diagnosed on
  11. I had to quit filling my bird feeders because of hawks. It attracks them and I have a Koi pond that the hawks decided to fish in. Fish kept mysteriously going missing and I caught a hawk sitting on the bench beside the pond one morning. Of course I have woods all around my house so they will always be close by but if I fell the bird feeders they come right into the yard.
  12. I am sure you meant "odd" as in exceptional or extraordianry, otherwise that remark would just be mean. The people who gave you the checks or "liked" your comment must have thought you meant that too. Surely Pcom could not have people that are just mean.
  13. I think splitting them up is a good idea. Most of the stories that I have read with negative effects from vaccines were after getting several at once. I also think that the chicken pox vaccine is unnecessary. Personally, I feel like if it is something that they can lose life or limb from then the vaccine is worth the risk. Something like chicken pox is not worth the risk to me.
  14. Really? She is "kind of dead". Last I heard if you are not dead you are ALIVE...there is no such thing as kind of dead. He's an idiot.
  15. Could someone tell the ones of us who don't know the story a little bit about Shad and what happened please?
  16. Oprah won that battle in the end, but the beef cattlemen did try to sue her. She never said that anyone should not eat beef only that she did not want to. I didn't see the Dr. Oz show in question, so I don't know how he worded his apple juice delivery. Hopefully, for him, he was smart enough to learn from Oprah and follw her lead.
  17. Yes. Until I was about 24 years old I never spoke up. I let people say and do anything. I was a doormat. Those who know me personally find that hard to believe but I promise it's true. I guess it was fear. I don't know what I was afraid of though, and I don't know what happened. I had my first son and my husband was in the USAF so we were home alone a lot. I guess you are as brave as you need to be and I found my voice. Now my husband likes to tell me how mean I am real often. I fight for the underdog, and I speak for people who won't or can't speak for themselves. The
  18. I think they could have left Jillian Michaels as a regular guest. Afterall the name of the show is the Doctors, and she in NOT a doctor. I do like the addition of the psychiatrist though.
  19. Awe, thanks If they were not dysfunctional before they definitely are now.
  20. No, I just pretend to be one. I like to think that most people are generally good but their choices are not always good. I would not want to be defined by the dumb choices I have made in my life.
  21. I think their compassion for their granddaughter is what fueled their enabling. If not for the granddaughter I don't think they would have continued to let their daughter get by with the behaviors that she did. I think part of what they are showing for their daughter now may be compassion but it is mostly guilt.
  22. I agree with you that denial may have resulted in raising a monster. I think they looked the other way far too many times when things just didn't add up. I am tuned into my kids enough that I am certain that I would know if they were "pretending" to have a job for 2 years. She was stealing from them and they did nothing. I believe that she was using that baby as a tool to get away with whatever she wanted. If the parents were too controlling she probably threatened to take her away from them. I know they love their daughter but I think they enabled her to become what she is. It does not
  23. I have 2 friends with Diverticulitis. Both have been told to eat more fiber (of course). One of them has known she has it for a long time and has found that certain foods will aggravate it for her. anything with nuts, seed, popcorn, etc. Those things seem to have a tendency to get stuck in the diverticuli and create the inflammation and pain. She avoids all of those foods and only has a few flair ups a year.
  24. I watched it too. I know it is not popular but I feel for them. I am not sure, given the same circumstances, that I wouldn't be in denial too. I would probably try to find every "reason" that i could that my child would turn into a monster. George does not seem to be in denial. Although, he didn't really want to say it, it's obvious he knows she killed the baby.
