I think it depends on a lot of things. Was the store crowded? Was there a safe place to leave a child while one went in to do their business? Maybe a scuzzy looking dude had been following them in the store and she ducked in there to lose him. Maybe the kid had a tendency to walk off. Maybe they weren't related at all and they went in to join the Wally-High Club.....Good thing there are stalls in there...There are, aren't they? I'm not a member of the WHC so I don't know.

It's almost Back To School time................................
Spucketts replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My 9 year old wants me to say something about this "Back to School" topic but I'll keep his comments to myself. Walmart is hauling out the Back to.....that place stuff and I see even Kroger has cleared the summer pool stuff for Back to ........supplies. -
Why you no good, rotten, goodie-goodie....oops, sorry, my Neg-O-button on my keyboard was still engaged, apologies...I think there's a lot of good posts on here, info about the recent canceled fireworks, area traffic problems, community information that's worth a read. Yeah, some other threads allow for a more opinionated response and sometimes people go off but you can often tell from the title or from the first few posts which way a topic will go. Around my house, we're happy it's stopped raining, at least for today. We're eating fresh green beans, cukes, squash and 'maters right out of

A High[land] County Boil - Shrimpless Lo Country

I love a good Low Country and your version sounds interesting. But if you're going to make it Scottish shouldn't you throw in some haggis or at least some mutton? -

Looks like lack of airspeed and the tail-end hit. Maybe he thought he was in an old J-3 or BC-12? How does this happen when you have redundant crews on these long overseas flights? -
Seems no matter which forum you go on, Topix, Delphi, Facebook, Pcom, etc, discussions and debates always seem to degrade into mud flinging contests to put it nicely. If you can't logically and factually debate a point, at least shoot the messenger so to speak. "You can't spell, you can't type, your not you're, your font is stupid, etc". Then again, in the middle of a heated discussion on a motorcycle forum a guy posted the following: Winning an argument on line is kinda like coming in first at the special Olympics, you may have won but you're still a retard.

To me life is simple, holding my wife's hand and making her laugh, watching the kids play, listening to my 2 year old giggle and watching him learn things. The day before Christmas or the day before vacation....Then maybe the sound of my V-twin harmonizing with a group of other V-twins.

My daughter tried Nutella a week ago and there's now a jar in the house, it is good. Been meaning to try this, two scoops vanilla ice cream, two table spoons Nutella, cover with milk in a blender and mix.

OK so some of Paula's people are out but on balance, in the TV world, there isn't less work to do. That time slot still needs to be filled and someone'll fill it and that includes camera crews, wardrobe, etc. One persons loss is another's opportunity. Besides, she'll still write books and run her restaurants, her ability to cook wasn't impacted. But in TV it's different, it's all about image, it's make believe, it's intention is to sell advertising space. Nobody cares about the politics of the guy that just cooked the best steak you've ever eaten, its different when you're peddling an image.

None really. The network filled her time slot and they're probably out looking for the next great TV chef. Those that sold her kitchenware are still in business just making skillets without her name on the bottom, the need for quality cookware still exists. Even her own staff can stick around as she still has her restaurants and she'll still publish cookbooks. That's how TV works, suck people in the front, chew'em up and spit them out the rear. No matter, there's always someone new wanting to come in the front just to be the next big thing.

I grew up in a farm house my family built in the late 1700's. They placed the house in front of a bend in the river so that the river gave protection from behind plus it was great land for farming. The house faced east so that the morning sun would add warmth and the setting sun would light the kitchen. They figured almost everything but never could have envisioned todays modern construction techniques. They've bridged the river for a new 4 lane and an off ramp dumps traffic into the front pasture.

Just the crime de jour like car jacking was a few years ago. (I noticed several NFL players have recently been car jacked).

If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive way to let them just try it out, they have courses at Taylor Farm Park. The summer sessions were just $25 a month. There's a tots course, one for beginners of any age, and a more advanced course.

Looks like a truck tried to back into the lawn materials facility right in downtown old Hiram and got stuck. Police are on the scene but both north and south bound lanes are closed as of 1:10 PM.

DA McDade and Sheriff Miller are institutions in Douglas County and the electorate aren't going to get rid of them no matter what because they're tough on crime (or at least that's what I keep hearing). I mean look, there's no crime in Douglas County.

Who do I contact about requesting street lights on my street?
Spucketts replied to jdoxakis01's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Why does the city need to install a light so that you can see to get to your mailbox? Home Depot sells'em, install your own. -
Somebody brought Kryptonite to an earlier show? Maybe an equipment problem....

Why are they tearing up Hiram Elementary School?
Spucketts replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think so, they were just mauling it branch by branch not even attempting to save the wood for the saw mill or even the fire pit, my guess it was all headed for the dumpster. I wasn't around long enough to see what they did to the stump and root ball. -
That movie's 30 years old......I see Michael Keaton's working on Toy Story 4, Terri Garr doesn't work much anymore.

Why are they tearing up Hiram Elementary School?

I went by there a few days ago late in the afternoon and they were taking some of the trees down along the street. Didn't even have the dignity to use a chainsaw but were going at them with a track hoe. The lady that lives in the house to the right seemed upset and as she ran out there with a camera to record the activity. -

I agree. Isn't that kind of the basic principle of getting high, so that you don't act responsibly?

Ever have someone step off the end of an escalator and stop right there? Not only ignorant of other people but dangerous.

We buy water at Sams and they usually scan in the cart. Don't buy soda, even for the kids....too much sugar and caffeine.
