  1. One of the issues the Braves had this year was low attendance. Looking at ESPNs numbers the Braves ranked 21st out of 30 teams at home only filling 63.3% of their seats. Not sure how this looks as a trend but I'm sure the Braves management has the numbers. If popularity is declining, you have to do something. They've fielded a good team the past few years so how do you keep the money rolling in? Their lease is up, massive amounts of money need to be spent on Turner Field seeing that it's going to be 20 years old, once that money's spent you haven't really improved your situation so why not mov
  2. First off lets debate the statement "Dallas Cowboys" and "Americas team". 'puke'
  3. Not till December and the stuff comes down before Jan 1. Many of Hirams Christmas street lights are beginning to show their age, maybe because they're put out for too long of a period.
  4. When it comes to environmental issues and property management it's wise to answer the question and analyze the consequences of a positive or negative answer before asking the question officially. You can easily weave your own noose by accident or just ignorance.
  5. Now I know why the City of Atlanta was so quick to make a deal with the street vendors last week to let them work. Because they already knew that 80% of the downtown events they vend at were headed to Cobb.
  6. Be careful if you have an inspection and/or sampling completed as you will need to be prepared to take action if something is identified and they probably will find some level of mold. It's possible that you can identify a condition that might cause you to have to relocate your tenant for some time and depending on the wording of the lease, might put you on the hook for the cost of repairs and relocation. Mold is a living thing and needs a food source, paper, cloth, sheet rock, wood, are excellent for mold growth. Next you need a moisture source, dripping pipes, roof leak, migration throu
  7. The plot on their website is right across the street from the Lexus dealership (property that was a Service Merchandise many years ago) on 41, just north of 285. You know this'll put MARTA into Cobb County....
  8. Its a parcel between Windy Ridge Parkway, 41, Circle 75, and I 75. Man is this going to mess up traffic in that area during game day. You can't move on 285 now during evening rush hour and now we'll have a ballgame starting at the same time? OUCH
  9. From Homeofthebraves.com "Turner Field was given to the City of Atlanta following the 1996 Olympics. The Braves do not own or manage the facility and our lease expires in 2016. That being said, the organization has invested nearly $125 million into the facility for maintenance and improvements. The City of Atlanta and the Atlanta-Fulton County Recreation Authority will make the final decision on what to do with the property after the team moves".
  10. I hear the Mayor of Atlanta has promised to "tear down every Church within the city limits" to ensure the Braves stay in downtown....
  11. I'm of the opinion that there isn't enough speed limit enforcement in this county. Every place I go, driving the speed limit, I'm tailgated, cut off, passed on the double yellow, horns blown at me simply because I've slowed to pull into my driveway....92, Bill Carruth, 278, 61, Ridge, Bennett, Brownsville...If you can't get your sorry butt out of the house on time to get somewhere that's your problem and you don't have the right to run all over other people. Write more tickets to these clowns then take their license for awhile.
  12. Never tell a judge in their court that something is "bogus" and that you shouldn't have to do something.
  13. It is possible that the dog was right. Makes you wonder what he sat in down at the local Walmart.....Reminds me of Jeff Dunham's comedy bit about the hand lotion setting off the detectors at the airport. "It's not a bomb, it's just hand lotion!...er...No, no there's no hand lotion on the puppets butt!"
  14. What ever happened to the gas pumps with the vapor recovery devices? Remember these? You'd stick the nozzle in the filler neck and it had a part that would cover the fuel transfer area and you'd have to kinda push down to get it to lock in place. I haven't seen one in several years, might be more common in cities with stricter air emission standards. Might have made a difference in this case.
  15. "Not only was the search warrant overly broad and lacking in probable cause, but it was also only valid in Luna County, where Deming is located and Eckert was arrested. The hospital where his anal probe took place is in the town of Gila, located in neighboring Hidalgo County. Additionally, the search warrant expired at 10 p.m., while doctors didn’t even begin prepping Eckert for the colonoscopy until 1:00 a.m. the following morning. “What is so strange about this case is they held him with no evidence,” Kennedy said. “They seized him to collect evidence, to go on a fishing expedition
  16. I think he said it cost around $600 to fix plus the tow bill and inconvenience. I also heard they had a problem with plugs breaking when you try and remove them. Not a typical plug, they have additional length to put the electrode into the cylinder. I understand redesigns but you shouldn't have problems with the spark plugs.
  17. Darn things probably made in China ta boot. Stick a real one up there, just use better anchorage.
  18. Gotta watch those Ford Triton motors, they've been known to blow the spark plugs out of the aluminum heads, typically on the number 3 or 4 cylinders. Happened to my bosses Expedition.
  19. Just a case of high stakes legal "chicken", who can make who blink first. The stadium blinked because it looked like it was going to a jury trial and a jury is just chuck full of sympathy and not legal knowledge. Nothing to do with right or wrong at the end of the day, just a business decision.
  20. The game is won or lost in the trenches yet comparatively little money is spent there. A team'll blow a fortune on a receiver that's maybe involved with a quarter or less plays but then spend nothing to fix a guard or tackle that plays like a swinging gate letting the rush in play after play. But there's no TV revenues to be made from those big guys, I've never seen an O lineman make a great block and get up and juke all over the field...
  21. No evidence has been presented that they were pulling her hair before the extension were placed, sounds like the extensions are at issue to me. Look, these boys should not have been touching her and should be held responsible, I've stated that before. The problem is no matter what your policies state and what their intensions are, kids will be kids. Do boys (and girls) pull hair, especially at this age? They sure do. Is the policy against hair pulling 100% enforceable? No, not even close. If you bring something new into a classroom and only let certain kids touch that thing (the article states
  22. It's curious how the world works. When you're a kid you want to grow up and be just like dad. Then you hit that age where you don't want to do or be anything remotely close to what your dad does. Then over time you find you're slowly become your father and you fight it. But later in life you begin to worry that you won't become your father and you strive to be just like him. Dad passed three years ago. Miss him.
  23. Where did I even suggest that? I'm saying that it's inappropriate for 'children' to wear certain things because they are in an immature population that hasn't learned 'adult' behavior yet. Yes you punish those responsible to correct their behavior but you also protect your child. The parents let it go on for two weeks while pleading for the school to do something and are now blaming the school because their all a bunch of racists. I'm sorry, the first day she came home with any indication of bullying or teasing over the hair extensions the things would have come out. My 9 year old came ho
  24. Yes I think hair extensions for an 8 year old is too young, so is letting an 8 year old wear makeup, mini-skirts and spiked heals. (I kept reading the article expecting to find that the girl had a medical condition but it just turned out to be a case of vanity) If my 11 year old wore high heals to school and came home crying because everyone laughed at her when she fell off (or was pushed off) them I'd tell her not to wear them again until she and her pears were age appropriate for that kind of attire. But this parent let this go one for 2 weeks until the child was physically injured to the po
  25. I don't know, an 8 year old getting hair extensions because she wanted them? Little boys have been pulling little girls hair since forever. My grandmother talked about the boys behind them in class dipping their pony-tails in the inkwells on their desks. Considering that there was a high potential for some teasing to go on (and don't get me wrong, I don't condone hair pulling or bullying of any kind and punishment is due) didn't mom sorta put a bulls eye on her child?
