We just dumped the dish with Dish, that thing would go out during even medium rain events. Have you seen the latest commercial that declairs the dish to be the most effective weather vane ever made? It's true. Bad installation? Maybe, it was low on the roof, had a low angle of elevation and trees had grown in since it was installed, but, all that just equates to added costs of operation and maintenance. I even had to disassemble the unit to send back their equipment and now they're badgering us for an additional $34 shipping cost to return their equipment even though they said they would wave

Oh the wonders of editing, you want Americans to look stupid? Just cut and paste. I love this from Don Henley: "Today I made an appearance downtown I am an expert witness, because I say I am And I said, 'Gentleman....and I use that word loosely.... I will testify for you I'm a gun for hire, I'm a saint, I'm a liar Because there are no facts, there is no truth Just data to be manipulated I can get any result you like What's it worth to ya? Because there is no wrong, there is no right And I sleep very well at night No shame, no solution No remorse, no retribution

They used to play pre-taped videos on the big screen at Thrashers games of opposing players when they were sent to the penalty box, players would be singing along to "I feel like a woman", adjusting a bra strap or passing gas-the penalty timekeeper would pass out.

That's a surprising stat: According to a 2012 Physicians Foundation survey, nearly half of the 830,000 doctors in the U.S. are over 50 and approaching retirement. They are also seeing fewer patients than they did in 2008. But then again you don't get to be a "doctor" until you're in your 30's to begin with.

The Britax is a good line and gets good reviews. We went with an upper priced Graco model for my now 2 year old (30 pounds). I like it because overall it's wide, tall and heavy. It has wrap around head protection that looks like something out of NASCAR. It's also adjustable for height and convertable, the back comes off and it becomes a booster seat for when he gets older. It is difficult to move from one car to the next as it straps in tight and is bulky to handle but it's all that mass that gives me the "feel good".

Nothing to do with the economy, it's all about progress and convience. Music (Best Buy, Walmart, etc hardly have a section for CDs anymore), movies, newspapers, magazines, books, it's all going electronic and hardcopies of anything is going the way of the dinosaur.

Arbor Place Mall is bad. "Yeah, I came here to get a massage". "No I don't believe you have something from the Dead Sea Scrolls right here in the Douglasville Mall". Walking from Sears to Macys you look like that scene from Airplane when the pilot enters the terminal and is confronted by the Hare Krishnas..... -

Plant 140 grains of lead just behind the shoulder.... -
She'll wreck it the lap after she gets passed for the lead. She'll get mad then drop into someones bumper and go backwards into the wall, lets say turn three. Only question is will she take a bunch with her.

It was open last spring or summer if I recall correctly. Saw some cars in the parking lot a week or so ago with one parked near the rear like they were moving stuff in (or out) and the neon sign is still lit on the front of the building. It's going to be a better location once the other bypass opens this spring-summer. (Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread)

On the subject of catfish, is the Catfish Den closed? My wife wants to say that they've just gone seasonal and will reopen in the spring but I'm guessing they've gone bust again. If it's true I guess I'll have to try Mamaw's recipe.

Didn't I read a few weeks ago that a company that manufacturers trailers for the movie industry was going to open in Dallas?

I'm not a fan of Comcast and have had trouble with them in the past...but...there's not much choice. I've bundled my tv/internet with them and picked up Netflix at $7.99/month. It cut our home entertainment bill almost in half for the first year and hopefully we won't need customer service from them as this is where I seem to always run into trouble. The reason we went with Dish in the first place was because Comcast said they didn't service our address which wasn't true as everyone on our street had service. When I called for internet I got them to do a service locate and the guy didn't e

Yeah they sent two boxes UPS, one for each receiver. There's a paragraph in red on the top of the instructions that states "Please return all DISH Network equipment immediately to avoid non-return charges (up to $149 per LNBF and $400 per receiver). Disconnecting customers will be charged a $17 equipment return fee should you choose to use the enclosed return shipping label. This fee is subject to change." When my wife cancelled the service this fee was mentioned and I think she got them to waive it. Heck if they send a bill they will see no payment. The instruction mention placing the LNB

We recently dumped the Dish, it didn't work when it rained or if it was real windy or snowy, costs were skyrocketting, then there were the irritating nuances like it shutting off in the middle of a football game because it had been left on too long, and the kids recording everything on all receivers and I never could figure out how to cancel these things. Anyway, Dish doesn't pickup what they define as "their property" and they want $17 a box to ship this stuff back to South Carolina. Plus they want the guts out of the satelite dish which for many may not be easily accessed. Just thought I'd t

Damn you people, now I have a horrible montage of these songs running through my head!

Even Jimmy Buffett made light of this one: "I just bought a waterbed filled up with Elmers glue"

There's nothing in any drivers manual about flashing your lights or waving someone on so there's no legal basis or defense for doing it. Ridge Road runs east-west which means during certain times of the day you can't see well due to glare making observation of the driver waving impossible and flashing lights undetectable. You'd do better by just moving on up the road and clearing the intersection.

Couldn't be Googlemaps or bing, they don't have time to take individual pictures and instead use a car with a camera mast attached to the top of a car. The camera operates off the speed of the car to shoot in multiple directions at the same time. Plus due to legal restrictions they can't publish faces or license plate numbers or other personal info. My guess is that its someone with a personal interest or investment in the property like the mortgage or insurance company, tax assessors office (when you research property in Fulton County it includes a photo of the property taken by the coun

I believe this law is still in place making masks illegal in many situations in Georgia: GEORGIA Code Title 16 - Crimes and Offenses,16-11-38. (a) A person is guilty of a misdemeanor when he wears a mask, hood, or device by which any portion of the face is so hidden, concealed, or covered as to conceal the identity of the wearer and is upon any public way or public property or upon the private property of another without the written permission of the owner or occupier of the property to do so. ( This Code section shall not apply to: (1) A person wearing a traditional holiday costume

Georgia Home Owner Shoots And Kills A Young Latino Man
Spucketts replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
One news source reported that the homeowner felt he and his wife were in danger of being runover by the driver. What makes sense is that the warning shot caused the driver to panic. Just another reason to never fire a "warning shot". -
Just the other day I saw a sign at a Shell station in Douglasville that had both a regular per gallon price along with a higher credit price, hadn't seen that one in years.

Fooled Around and Fell In Love by Elvin Bishop. Everytime I hear this song it reminds me of those old skating days.
