  1. Not having a license just means you can't stamp the drawings, thats all. Each state has its own licensing standards, and Georgia is pretty tough. For example, my uncle who graduated with an associated degree from the same school (when it was a branch of Georgia Tech) has licenses in several other states, but not in Georgia. He can stamp engineering drawings in those states, just not in Georgia. Engineering companies usually employee a number of engineers, some who have stamps (i.e. licensed for that state), and some who do not. In the various engineering companies I worked for, most of the "st
  2. Only legitimate companies that do things like that are those associated with the CCCS (Consumer Credit Counseling Services). Here in Atlanta that is Credibility (www.credability.org formerly CCCS of Atlanta). What they do is get the interest rate dropped/stopped, provide education/counseling and work out a payment plan for them so the debt is paid off. These other debt reduction/credit fixer companies are only out to scam folks out of money.

    Wasps

Get the foaming bee/hornet spray. I've never had any issue when I've used that. I had a huge wasp nest last year in the outside phone box, and this year they made a home in my front porch light. Only benefit to the front porch one is the door-to-door folks didn't linger too long if I ignored them.
  4. Arby's in Lithia Springs. Made sandwiches and ran the register back in mid 80's.
  5. Depending on the surgery I can tell you its well worth it. I had nasal endoscopy around 11 years old, and last year had my deviated septum fixed. Mine had gotten so bad I couldn't get much air in one side, so it just stayed infected year round. Haven't had hardly any trouble at all since then, and I had terrible sinus', and any infection usually went right into my lungs. With my bad asthma, I'd be sick for a month before it would clear out (with some strong meds). Wish I'd have done it sooner.
  6. Sorry they nailed you while you were out at the house. They are running pretty wide open now with full hives and it looks like an airport out back at times with all of the coming/going back there.
  7. MJ is a piece of junk. I had one, and you would get dropped calls, terrible static/quality. And if they get your CC number, they autobill you automatically. Few years ago there was a big uproar because everyone who ordered one and had their information online in their system (but didn't want to renew) had their renew turned on automatically as a "convenience", and got charged $80 or so for 5 year renewal.
  8. Its open season on coyotes (no closed season, no real restrictions), and you can even hunt them at night with lights. If you wanted to handle them quietly, a scoped crossbow does an excellent job. As far as the goats running loose, BBQ goat is pretty good. Or "relocate it" to someone else who owns goats and keeps them responsibly.
  9. No, as there's no difference in a honeybee in someone's hive and one found in the wild. There's a state law on the books anyway that protects against zoning/outlawing them out. Beings they all look the same, its pretty impossible to say that a honeybee drinking from your bird fountain or hummingbird feeder belongs to some fellow down the road. Honeybee's will range for up to 5 miles to forage.
  10. I haven't been that interested in it myself, really waiting on Guild Wars 2. Been playing in the beta events (preorder) when they have them, and in the meantime playing Eve Online till then. Pretty burned out on WOW and other MMO's of that style.
  11. It really depends more on if the s/d you live in has covenants, which will likely prohibit things like that. If it does not, then its the zoning laws. I'd suggest seeing what the property is zoned, and then what you can have on that particular type of zoning. I know where I am at, goofy as it may sound, I could have horses and cattle long as my property is fenced. There's no way I'd put either one of them on my lot in my s/d, but the zoning code says its ok for me to have them. Many times the person working at the county doesn't know the code that well, believe it or not, so do your own resear
  12. Academy Sports in Hiram had Thermocel over in the camping section. It does work magic on keeping flying pests away. Those big plastic dome fly traps work pretty well at cutting down the flys attracted by duck/chicken/horse poo. You can just hang one or two near where your ducks are.
  13. That would be on pay per view or run you an extra $14.99/month.
  14. Ok, here's how printing PDF files work on my end. Hit Properties in your print setup, then pick More Sizes. Put the check box by Architectural, then select Arch D 24x36. On your print preview on the Print page, it should show 24" horizontal, and 36" vertical. Thats the way the paper will come off the plotter. Make sure "Fit to Printable Area" is set under page scaling, and the check box by "Auto-Rotate and Center". Hope that helps.
  15. What are you trying to print from, Autocad ? As the others said, make sure you are setting it correctly to print the right orientation. You also have to setup the pages used. For example, on our plotter using 24" roll of paper, there is the standard ARCH D (24x36), but for the other sizes I had to do custom sizes of 24x40, 24x48, 24x60. Your plot is going to be 24" wide by whatever length, so the issue is going to be what paper size you tell your program to print to (not on the plotter itself).
  16. One antenna will feed as many TV's as you want, provided they can read the newer digital signal (or have a converter box for it). There are channels like that with old family type shows on it out there. Since I like the Walton's, I just bought the whole series on DVD one season at a time. I cut DISH off over a year ago, and we've done fine without it. We have to be a bit more proactive with the shows we want to see, and they are either bought on a per-episode basis or "found" on the internet. We also watch/download them a day or so after they air, but its really no big deal for us. For you
  17. Its very hard to go through, my grandfather took his own life just over a year ago. We had no warning, no indication of anything. We were very close and I looked up to him, and it shook me up pretty good and put me in a pretty bad depression for about 6 months or so. I still don't think I'm over it 100%. I'm more sensitive to hearing the word "suicide" or when watching TV/movies and someone gets shot in the head, I think about him and what he did. You will probably find you are more sensitive to whatever method they used to end their life if you read/see it. But you aren't alone, and even on a

  19. I knew Andy casually, having talked with him on the phone a few times and online on some of the chicken boards I visit. Andy was a pretty nice fellow, but got in a fight with the city and, much like Surepip, they did anything they could to keep him from winning. The city wanted to put a park where his property is, and just kept after him until they finally got what they wanted - but at the cost of a human life. The city could have bought him out with FEMA funds, but decided it would be better to sue and harass him instead. While I don't agree with suicide (my grandfather took his own life), I'
  20. Guess I'm pretty screwed since I have both Mac and PC at home. But I do run virus scanners on both, and have Spybot and Malwarebytes on my PC.
  21. My grandmother had RA all of her life, spent a good bit of it confined to a wheelchair. She tried a good bit of everything, anything from modern medicine to folk medicine up in the N.GA mountains (faith healers, gold shots, etc). One thing that worked well for her, but she didn't care for it was getting bee stings in the joints from honeybees. My G-Grandfather was a beekeeper and would administer them, but she got to a point where she couldn't take the pain of the stings. But that was some time ago, and she's been gone for a long time now. Fast-forward to 3 years ago when I decided to take
  22. Sounds like this old shotgun I inherited few years ago from my grandfather's estate. It's a Belgian model that were made in the millions and sold in hardware stores. It was cheaply made and cheaply sold, and barely worth the metal its made out of. Pretty much a wall-hanger now for decoration. Best thing about it was it came with the receipt where he bought it for $10 when he was around 20 years old from a co-worker.
  23. The rolls can be a funny thing too. There were quite a few who didn't want their name on those Indian roles, as they didn't trust the Government (and who could blame them). In my own family, there were brothers and sisters who intermarried with the Cherokee up around Ellijay / Talking Rock. When the Trail of Tears took place and they were rounded up and forced off their land, the white women who married Indian men went to Oklahoma. The white men (who could own land) stayed here with their Indian wives. My ancestor is one of these white men, and because of the circumstances she is not on the In
  24. My wife and I both have Kindle Fire's (both rooted with the Android Market/better interface installed). She uses her's daily, me not so much. She reads a pretty good amount of books on hers, I still prefer a good paper copy. I do like being able to surf on it rather than my iPhone, since the screen is much larger and easier to read. Far as books, Anne Rice's "The Wolf Gift" was really good. She did take an obvious poke at her beef with gay rights and the Catholic Church (I really dislike something so obvious in fiction when an author throws it in), but other than that it was hard to put it
