  1. Subby is right on the money. Nothing beats an actual razor, those electrics never do a very good job. What about buying him an old-style razor to go with the cake soap/brush set ? There's some folks on one of the message boards I visit that are really into old-school shaving. Look at some of the stuff on www.westcoastshaving.com for things like that, Amazon & Target carry some of that as well.
  2. I have a beagle, and there is NOTHING he won't eat..
  3. Probably come in handy with the worldwide bacon shortage some are predicting.
  4. Depends on who you talk to, and go by the rules for your particular zoning. When I called a few years back, they said it was fine and there were no restrictions (provided you didn't have covenants). Many times counties don't even know their own rules/regulations. You can always do as one person did on here and get an exemption. If I remember right they went and talked to all their neighbors, got them to sign off on it being fine with them, then went to the county for an exemption, and got it. I think they had 4-6 hens. On the flip side hens are pretty quiet save for when they lay an egg an
  5. Agree with you there LPPT. I'm pretty disgusted with both parties, and didn't vote for either one of them. I don't want either one of them to win, though I know one will.
  6. I agree. Seems to me every place you go now is asking for a tip for what is, essentially, their job. The only food service I tip typically is at a typical sit-down restaurant. I'm not tipping the local BBQ joint, for example, for handing my food to me at the counter. I used to tip the pizza delivery folks (as I was one for a few months many years ago), but when they started charging extra fees on top of the actual order, I stopped. I've expressed my displeasure at the delivery fee a few times. I'm sorry it sounds cheap, but I work hard for the money I have, and I'm not going to just give it aw
  7. $2-5, unless they charge a delivery fee. If they charge a delivery fee, then that is their tip.
  8. Was in and out of Poplar Spring Baptist in about 10 minutes. Was very quick and not crowded at all.
  9. My basement/garage works pretty good for me.
  10. Seems pretty silly to take things away YEARS after they were won. I know it makes for a good show, but to me its like if you quit a job, and 10 years later they decided to make it so they fired you instead.
  11. Wife and I ran into him this evening picking up food from Mizu at the Publix shopping center.
  12. There's a reason this site is called paulding.com, and that is the main reason I come here - to read news or goings-on in the county I live in. I just ignore the posters who do nothing but post links to stories/news I could read/listen/watch on a national news site, or post over and over about one particular political topic they favor. Only thing I wish was when you put someone on ignore, their topics they post wouldn't even show up in the feed. Zoo's post are mostly some inflammatory subject line to get the opposing view angry, along with "LINK", followed by much arguing. Too me, its just a b
  13. My wife found this writeup as well, sure wish I'd know about it. http://www.delta1-5.com/spotlight.htm
  14. After the comments about the last PTA meeting, did they put a note on there asking the parents to not dress like sluts ?
  15. Even if you got bit by a boa or python, the teeth aren't what hurts, its the jaw pressure. I used to keep red-tails and got bit twice by my 8' boa. I made the mistake (twice) of making a tuna sandwich, and then not washing off the residual tuna smell and sticking my hand in the cage to pick her up. She let go as soon as she realized my hand wasn't a mouse, but it left a nice bruise there along with surface scratches from the teeth.
  16. Red Tailed Hawk, they are pretty fun to hunt with if you know a falconer.
  17. Put a few drops of liquid dish soap to break the surface tension of the water. It's the best trap I've ever seen. It works real well if you get those hanging sticky traps with the cup on the top/bottom, then fill that bottom cup with the solution. If they try to land anywhere above the liquid, the sticky trap gets them.
  18. I thought you were going to post that TP and former member were on vacation together this week.
  19. Might be called a tote sack, if you are going to put something in it and carry it somewhere. Tote is to carry something somewhere. "Tote that pile of wood o'er yonder."
  20. I've said it a few times at the office and got some pretty strange looks. My dad said it growing up, no idea where it came from. Best one was when I lived up north working in Chicago, and told our dept director that a fellow "wasn't coming in, his car's tore up and won't crank". She looked at me real funny and said "That must be a southern thing, I have no idea what you just said".
  21. Gonna be a frog strangler. (It is going to rain really hard) Trying to put 10lbs of taters in a 5lb bag. (It won't fit where you are trying to put it/too large) Done caught the epizoodie. (Got real sick but you can't identify what it is) That there's cattywhompered. (It is crooked and not straight). He's plum tuckered out/wore slap out. (He is tired from doing strenuous activity).
  22. I've been an apple fanboy since the ipod came out, but over the last few years I haven't seen that much vast improvement on their products. This one seems just a little better, but nothing outstanding. I've got an android phone for work, and after using it I'm about ready to switch off the iPhone to something that isn't so locked down. The mac I have is pretty old, so a few weeks ago I bought a new PC (already had one that I just gamed on). For me, its been a matter of finding similar simple software that works much like what you get with a mac. Picasa and Thunderbird now handle my photos and
  23. Sad to see them go, I thought they had pretty good food there the time I went there with my wife. Looks like the last post by them was on the 8th, and then someone posted they went by there that same day around lunch and they were closed.
  24. I knew Sean Smith, one of the folks killed over there, from the video game EVE Online that I play. Pretty sad day for a few of us that knew him (even if casually).
  25. With costs being so high on prescription lenses, thought I'd let you know my experience with an online glasses site. I read about Zenni Optical (www.zennioptical.com) off Clark Howard's site, and though I've ordered in the past online, I hadn't tried these folks before. Recently I was going to need get bifocals or progressive lenses, but I know those are pretty high. I figured I'd give these a shot, since they were pretty cheap. I ordered a set of sunglasses with an aviator (or cop style) frame and a set of progressive lenses with a half-frame style. It took about 1.5 weeks before I got th
