  1. Mechanics started doing the same thing during the phase out of R-12 freon for cars. --- now the stuff is almost $100 per pound, when you can find it.
  2. define "abused child" ---- physically? mentally? nutritionally? play station deprived? i agree with the need to question true child abuse, even sometimes without the parent present. It has to have boundaries or it becomes a free-for-all, anything goes interrogation.
  3. also, if you have a completely bad motor, many discovery owners are swapping to GM engines like the 3800 V6 buick/chevy. they are citing the cost of the land rover engines and reliability issues, as well as trying to get parts. just a thought
  4. try the pullapart salvage yards, you will have to walk the yard to see if they have the motor still in them. I see in the southeast only 3 of them: LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 1998 Atlanta East 6513 Marshall Boulevard Lithonia, GA 30058 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 1998 Atlanta North 4416 Buford Hwy Norcross, GA 30071 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 1998 Knoxville 5800 Rutledge Pike Knoxville, TN 37924
  5. not the point, i was trying to remind everyone where this could go if left unchecked. History tells us what could and did actually happen in the past in regards to questioning minors without parental, guardian, or even attorney presence.
  6. It is more than just about "drugs, unfit home, unfit parents, abuse, molestation" it opens the door to any questioning without the parent/guardian being present. --- for example: know anyone using "bath salts" , driving without insurance, has a dog with out rabies shots, how many guns are in your house, have you ever seen a "R" rated movie, etc. I think most people get the idea of where it could go if left unchecked...
  7. link: http://www.wsbtv.com/nationalnews/27055764/detail.html "She was a great parent, a good person. We don't know what's wrong. We don't know what happened. Do not sit there and call her a bad mom cause that's not what she is," Sherrie Robinson told the TV station......
  8. Usually that is true. The problem in this case is the SCT100 class uses a customized book only good for chattahoochee students. Chattahoochee Tech is starting to acquiesce to the publishers demands and requiring a "customized" book for more of their classes each term (publishers are trying to eliminate the used book market that is cutting their profits) also, half.com and allbookstores.com have good prices on used college texts. You can get a used sct100 book, but it is only worth about $10 without the code. You can buy the code online is about $70. If you can possibly wait
  9. I love the smell of napalm in the morning............ Smells like [sniffing, pondering] ......... victory. Apocalypse Now (1979)
  10. kind of reinforces the questioning / interrogations part of the D.A.R.E program also, wasn't there something like this going on in nazi germany in the late 1930s? (questioning children in school about local jews and encouraging the propaganda, etc)
  11. In this economy, potential employees will give up a lot to get the job. That being said, the employee is violating the "terms of service" for most web sites, including facebook by releasing login/password information to a third party. The obvious option for the employee, if he/she wants the job, is to change the password after being hired.
  12. Since you are a group of 5, you will find that alot of the cruise companies have a max of 4 in a room (carnival allows 5 on some ships). Even then, there has to be an adult registered for each room. We ended up getting one room with ocean view and one cheaper interior room to be able to get the reservations ok. We were only in the rooms to sleep anyway. A 4 day cruise is not long enough. It takes 3+ days just to learn your way around the ship and know all the show times and classes/activities and spa appointments, etc. I know you are driving, but the farther south you go to the
  13. yeah, funny how a significant number of their "employees" don't speak a word of english, ride bicycles to work or have to be brought in a van.
  14. if you have a gift card from borders, you better use it quick, before its value goes poof !
  15. Are you wanting a "go cart", or one of those mini dune buggies with headlights, suspension, a gear shifter, electric start, etc. ? single seat or 2-seater?
  16. southside medical center, down near turner field. They are income based, but usually $40 per visit / extraction / filling. Take your previous 3 pay stubs or proof of unemployment and do a walk-in. Some these other so-called income based dentists end up still being $100 by the time everything is done, so be aware.
  17. call it pay back for women's liberation. ya'll had no problem sitting on your butts while the man worked in the 50s, 60s, and the 70s
  18. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" --- George Santayana ?1905? or "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it." --- Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
  19. Psychologically speaking, to be intimidated is to be inhibited or frightened. Intimidation is caused by a personal feeling of insecurity / inferiority / inadequacy. Intimidation can also rear it's head in a form of envy /jealousy --- being around others who have things you greatly admire (intelligence, ability, position, achievement, possessions, education, family background, etc.
  20. not sure if it has already been posted........ paulding parks and rec has 2 openings for maintenance workers. application deadline is this friday 2/11. job involves performing a variety of maintenance and custodial duties at department recreational facilities, include operation of mowers, tractors, and trimmers grade 7 --- $10.15 per hour paulding.gov/jobs.aspx?isEmployer=False&jobID=34 or paulding.gov/jobs.aspx
  21. for one to be intimidated, they would have to feel inferior to the agressor...
  22. The last one i had go out was going to cost $200 to rebuild, so i went to pull a part and found a truck with the same axle code for $73. Also, if you are going to keep the truck, for the same price, you might consider putting a heavy-duty axle on it from a F-250 or E-250 van of similar year range. Just get the leaf springs & brake drums too while you are there. The only issue would be the rims would need to be 8-lug on the back. A little extra work, but worth it in stabilization and hauling / braking capacity
  23. according to the state: "Environmental Health-Georgia, Georgia Department of Human Resources" (5) No presently known chemical, yeast, bacteria, enzyme, or other additive product will improve the operation or life expectancy of a septic tank system. -- and -- (3a) A good rule of thumb would be to have the septic tank pumped out every 3-5 years. This should provide a margin of safety, but remember the most accurate way to determine the need for service is to inspect the tank contents on a yearly basis. When you decide to pump out the tank, contact the county health department for a
