  1. It's just a different way of saying the same thing. Really.
  2. FreeTax USA will work great online. I paid just $9.71 to file my state return, as the federal is free. It can be e-filed and direct deposited. You need a coupon code to get the 25% discount on the state filing fee. I'd rather not post it publicly but anyone who wants it can PM me and I'll give it to you.
  3. Years ago I went to Precision Tune in Smyrna to get a tune up. Car ran rough by the time I got it home to Powder Springs. It would go dead on me at stop signs. This went on for several days until finally my husband got a chance to take a look at the car. He's no auto mechanic but he knows his way around mechanical stuff. He took one look at the car and knew exactly why it wasn't running right. Precision Tune had forgotten to connect the vacuum lines! They were just let dangling. Once he connected the lines, about three of them I think, the car ran fine and never again gave problems. I
  4. I had forgotten about him. He is one I would HIGHLY recommend as well.
  5. Vic Williams Tire and Auto.
  6. I'll pass this along to one of my cousins who is the executor of his mom's estate. She was a long time Cobb EMC member. In fact, last year just being curious I checked the unclaimed money department with the EMC and found money for my aunt. It wasn't much but my cousin did apply to get it.I'll also pass this along to my brother in law who was with Cobb EMC.Thanks for posting it.
  7. If you had the ability to get pregnant, being pro choice would mean more. You don't, so it doesn't. Women don't need you or anyone else to tell them what they should do. That is their CHOICE, not yours.
  8. You folks are really scaring me. I am with Gulf Power, the Florida equivalent of Georgia Power. Usually a lot higher than Greystone. In fact, usually a LOT higher than Greystone. We had days down in the low teens and our heat just ran and ran and ran. We might have been better off using the generator but then propane is really expensive, too. But now I'm scared to see the power bill. It can't be higher than December when we had four additional people here and the washer and dryer rarely sat idle. Please, let it not be that high in January!
  9. That's very true. The number can be high for some. It still is no guarantee. There are no guarantees when it comes to the human body and health. Some genetic conditions are affected by environmental factors, many of which can be controlled.
  10. The thing to keep in mind in most cases about genetic testing and gene mutations is there is no guarantee that a person will have the condition linked to the genes.
  11. Could you not set a regular timer on it, like one you would use on your lights for when you're away from home? You could set the time for just a few minutes every day or several times a day. I hooked up a humidifier to a timer like that. GE makes a nice, easy to use timer that grocery stores have for about $7.
  12. My heart is breaking. Pete was an awesome man. I always looked forward to his visits. Prayers for the family.
  13. My mom paid more for gas and power in the winter than we did for a total electric house. Our house was at least twice the size of hers and had poor windows.
  14. We had four other people here during three weeks of December. And Christmas lights. And our bill was higher. Well duh. I can't imagine what it would have been like had our heat run constantly because the temperature never got above freezing for a few days or we had kids at home because schools were closed. I do dread January's bill though because our cold weather was in January. Can't be much more than it was with 4 extra people here and the fact that the washer and dryer ran almost all day every day for three weeks and I often ran the dishwasher three times a day during that t
  15. When we lived in Mableton I got sooooooo tired of reading about Powder Springs in the Mableton Neighbor. So, we moved to Powder Springs and read about....Smyrna. And my mom in Smyrna read about Kennesaw. The Neighbor papers are so screwed up it isn't even funny.
  16. Not only that, the PE stuff leaves an icky taste in my mouth. Haven't figured that one out. But when I really need something, I will go and get the REAL stuff. I haven't had to in a long time. In fact, I may still have some. I forgot what it was I bought at Walmart a couple of months ago that required my ID. Something really, really stoopid. Wasn't a car chemical and it wasn't from the pharmacy. I just can't remember what it was. But I was like "WTH do you need my ID for THAT?" Anyone can look at me and tell I'm over 21!
  17. Whoo hoo!! My gumbo turned out really great. I did have a hard time keeping hubby out of it until it got done. Now, where's the Alka Seltzer and Tums? WOW! Spicy!
  18. Not likely. Those Yarbroughs were nice people, at least the ones I knew were. And probably had guns. Almost everyone did back then.
  19. When I got my current cell phone number I kept getting calls for someone with the name of Tanisha or something like that. Calls from beefy sounding guys, title loan companies, etc. I finally called one of them and explained that I had just gotten the number and I was not the person they were looking for and didn't know her. They asked when I got the number and I told them. They were very nice, apologized and said they would not call again. They never have. One of the beefy sounding guys was the same way. He was really nice about it and never called again. We have gotten calls rece
  20. I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number, and that goes for cell phone and landline.I don't call back if I don't recognize the number. Then there are those who say I don't answer when I do know who's calling and that I never call them back. Ha ha!
  21. I did not know student loans required a co-signer. News to me but then again, like I said, I don't know about them. I didn't have the luxury of getting one since my school was either you paid for it or you got a grant, so I had to pay for my school. Hubby had a grant. Middle daughter worked two jobs while she was in school. Youngest daughter had HOPE. My daughter's best friend got a grant that even paid for her transportation. I guess they have done away with that now.
  22. Chicken and sausage gumbo. I hope. At least that's the plan. I guess just to be on the safe side I'd better pick up a DiGiorno pizza, too. My first attempt at gumbo didn't turn out very well.
  23. Silly me. I thought you could get a student loan if you had no income. Never had one, hubby never had one, daughter never had one. I didn't know how they worked.
  24. The ignition switch problem was well known on the Sky and Solstice. A few other GM models if I remember correctly. Hope you get it fixed soon.
  25. That sounds like what happened with my hubby's Sky. It was the ignition switch. Oh, one time it did that the car was parked in our garage. We couldn't have gotten a wrecker to it had we wanted to. Fortunately, it started up a little later and was fine until the day on I-75.
