  1. You know my and George's prayers are with your aunt. If there is anything you need, let me know. This must be what you meant when you said your Thanksgiving was "interesting, to say the least". Keep me posted, too. Is this your dad's sister or your mom's?
  2. Ryan, So sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and your family.
  3. If you notice, right before any major travel period--spring break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, whatever--gas prices will go up. If it is a weeklong travel period, the prices will get lower on about Tuesday or Wednesday. I've noticed this happening for several years now. Crude oil has actually gone down in price slightly over the last two weeks. Gas prices have not.
  4. If the one you're thinking of is located in Paulding, it is NOT the same one we used. Ours is from Marietta.
  5. Prayers said for TBAR and his family.
  6. Our previous roof was 17 years old. Received storm damage back in April. It never leaked a drop. New roof put on in July. The company has been out three times to fix the leak. Not sure if they did it this last time or not since the water stains on my bedroom ceiling are so big. Not going to mention their name on here but if anyone really wants to know, PM me and I'll tell you. Their price was some better than the other quotes we got. They have been in business for years and years and had an A+ rating with the BBB. We felt like they were the best people to deal with. We did gi
  7. I haven't worn my wedding set in several years. Got tired of having to have them made bigger so I just put them in the jewelry box until my weight loss is enough I can wear them again. Getting close! Wedding band first then engagement ring.
  8. The one my husband wrestled to the ground wasn't a 9 point but it was still a challenge for him.
  9. I have an "excluded" list. They can see limited things but can post to my wall. How do I know this? I've had posts to my wall by them. In addition, I have my privacy settings to where only friends can see posts (except those excluded). I had to do this because of a spouse. And yes, MsMusic, it is the spouse you're thinking of.
  10. awesome!! would have loved to be there in person, though!
  11. Planning to have daughter, son in law and granddaughter come up from Austell for a meal. We went to their house last year, so it's our house this time. And hopefully, all holidays in the future.
  12. When and where did you go to school in Smyrna?
  13. born in Marietta, at Kennestone. Lived in Smyrna from birth until I got married at 23. Lived in Mableton for 9 months after we got married and then moved to Powder Springs where we still live. I'm 54 years old and have only lived in 4 houses in my entire life. We have been here 31 years next month. Here--31 years Smyrna (Church Road)--22 years, 9 months Mableton--9 months Smyrna (Old Concord Road)--6 months
  14. I have a friend who has back problems. He recently underwent an MRI and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. He is being treated with a specialized physical therapy method. It's called the McKenzie Method. It's only been 10 days so it really is too early to tell a difference. He does not live in the Atlanta area, so it would not do any good to refer you to his doctor or therapist. to the OP: what was the diagnosis your husband received? Depending upon the diagnosis, surgery may or may not be his best (or only option). Spinal stenosis is one condition of the back and/or neck that gen
  15. I have instructions on how to back up and restore the .pst file but mine won't let me back it up. Wondered if creating a new one and then closing Outlook would help. Well, off to download the malware that someone suggested. I really think I may have picked up a virus along the way. Probably best to get rid of that first. Thanks to everyone for suggestions. Now, maybe I need that firearm that I was talking about. Getting ready to shoot this computer.
  16. HOW have you been able to recover? I have tried *everything*. Repairs through Office, backing up the .pst file and deleting it, reloading Office. Nothing has worked. Finally did get it to where I can access my calendar (had to disable the automatic send/receive). I have wondered, and maybe someone else can answer this, is it possible to create a new .pst file, rename the old one so it isn't the default, open Outlook, close Outlook (which would back up everything to the new .pst file at least in theory) and then copy THAT file, delete Outlook and import the new .pst file into the
  17. Mike, Thanks for the link. I got an error message when I tried that. Can't remember the message but something like it couldn't access the file. Will try again tomorrow.
  18. Outlook 2007. Enterprise Edition if that makes a difference. Not on a server or network.
  19. I thought about him. Hate to have to take it in to him but at this point, I'm willing. I have a LOT of e-mails and contacts I cannot afford to lose.
  20. Last week I suddenly had Outlook go funky on me. It said the "personal folder" failed to close properly and it was checking for errors. It then asked something about starting Outlook in some other mode. I don't know what it was now. Since that time, it has not worked hardly any. I can't get to my contacts, it still tries to send and receive, nothing can be deleted or moved. I tried to fix it three times through the tools in Office and have tried to reload the software from the original. It does not even overwrite. I am wondering if I picked up a virus and that is what the cause of
  21. No kidding!! I read this just minutes after getting off the phone scheduling my yearly mammogram. I needed the laugh.
  22. (((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to you. Honestly, I don't believe you ever get over it. You learn to live with it as best you can and to move on with your life. It won't come quickly and it won't come easily. Wish I could tell you otherwise. There are several people on here who have been through what you've been through, as well as some of us who have been through this as the grandparents. Know that you ARE NOT alone .... EVER. We're all here for you. There are support groups for you. PLEASE, please don't let it do to you what losing twins did to my daughter. She suffered with gu
