  1. Everyone needs to remember that unless you filed an appeal after you got your ASSESSMENT, it is too late to file one NOW that the tax bills are due. Once the time period for filing an appeal is over, you can't file for that year. You have to wait until next year. I think the time limit is 45 days from the date of the assessment. If an appeal has been filed, your tax bill will reflect that. You can pay the full amount or the adjusted amount. If you pay the full amount and the value is decreased, you get a refund of the overpayment. If you pay the adjusted amount and you lose the ap
  2. Take it to the Board of Equalization. Gather your facts together about value. Present your case to the BOE. Forget the attorney. Might cause the BOE to rule against you. You're much better off presenting a strong case for a different value yourself. If you want specific suggestions, PM me. Been there, done that three times. Won twice.
  3. try this: http://www.routingnumbers.org/banks_in_GA.html
  4. georgiacarry.org was the first place I checked. Great information in an easy to understand format.
  5. We bought knickknacks a few years ago--metal fish candleholder, seashell decorative items, coasters--and paid something like $15 for all of it. I bought some nice, thick, luxurious towels there a few years ago. They were something like $3.99. The closest thing to them that Walmart had was closer to $14 each. I've bought shower curtains there, throw rugs, silk flowers. One of my stock pots came from there and it was pretty cheap. My pressure canner/cooker came from there and was about half what it would have been anywhere else. Fllinging a craving on me for there or Garden Ridge.
  6. Considering the hole in the ceiling in our garage, I would like something that I don't have to worry about going off if it is dropped. Learned THAT lesson.
  7. I can't answer as a woman taking her kids on a trip like that but can give you insight. In 1995, my husband took our 15 year old daughter on a week's vacation without me. They went kayaking in the Okeefanokee, swam in the Atlantic, snorkeled in Fort Lauderdale, visited friends of ours in Pompano Beach, drove across Alligator Alley, stopped at Steinhatchee long enough to look around and then drove to Pensacola. I met them at the end of the week in Pensacola and we had a week's vacation there before they headed home by car and I came back home by way of Delta. They BOTH had a blast d
  8. Not *inexperienced* handling firearms, just no recent experience. That's how I know I don't care for the .38 or 9 mm my hubby has. Rather have one with a clip. Just personal preference.
  9. I'd like a Glock. Great firearms. It was recommended by my friend who is advising me that I first try a firearm made specifically for a woman. He recommended two in particular. Neither is a Glock and both are revolvers. I'd rather have something with a clip. I told my husband that I would like to get a carry permit. He asked me who was bothering me. I told him nobody, which IS the truth. I just feel like it might be a good time to get one and to get a firearm that **I** am comfortable using. I pray that I would never need to use it but would like to be able to should the need a
  10. says ...to tell you the truth. What were they telling you BEFORE?????
  11. I had that for several weeks, about 4 p.m. every afternoon. It would last for maybe a half hour and then be fine. It hasn't happened in a couple of weeks. AT&T must be upgrading the system near you. We thought this was what was happening when we had problems.
  12. Don't EVEN talk about when they changed. That particular time was when Outlook Express decided to go crazy on me, causing me to lose every e-mail received between June 6, 2009 until that date--something like August 14. To top it off, my AT&T e-mail deleted all the e-mails as well, so I couldn't reload them into Outlook when I got it up and running to replace OE. Now, I'm having major issues with Outlook but it is my computer and not an AT&T/Yahoo issue. I might need that gun pretty soon if I can't get that taken care of. I'll be ready to shoot my computer and get a new o
  13. I'm glad I asked because I had no clue about it. I will get the permit first.
  14. I hadn't thought of using it on HER. Now you've got me to thinking. Thank you for that.
  15. Well, yeah. They sure took care of us and at a fair price. You know as well as I do that someone has a problem with everyone who is in business. It's the nature of doing business. Maybe these people treat me so well because they know me, but I've talked to others who love them, too. And who won't use anyone else. Tell Joe I recommend them and not just because they are clients of ours. My hubby recommends them, too.
  16. I found this site: http://www.wwtguns.com/classes-training.htm Same address as Hot Shots but different phone #. Apparently, they have the revolver that I am leaning towards buying. That's a big plus for going to them. All I need to do is have my hubby go with me. I hate doing things like that alone.
  17. That's good to know. I have a friend who is advising on how to pick a firearm, but he didn't know how things worked in Georgia. Since he has yet to get his own carry permit, he wasn't sure how that worked even. I'm in Cobb, so I guess I need to go to the courthouse in Marietta. Or can I go to Paulding even though I don't live here? Did they change their name? I found a place on Austell Road in Marietta but it isn't called Hot Shots. They have an indoor range? I didn't know that. I'll check them out, too.
  18. Anyone know the procedure for doing these? Do you get the carry permit first or do you get the firearm (after passing the background test) first? Do they do the background check where you buy the firearm? Any charge for this? I'm wanting to take firearms safety classes and buy a pistol/revolver. No clue what to do first. Any accurate information would be appreciated.
  19. has he also had the alphafetoprotein blood test? That is supposed to be great for diagnosing tumors. And that reminds me that I am way overdue to have one.
  20. Oddly enough, my ATT.net/Yahoo is the only one I can use right now at home. Outlook crashed on me Saturday so I'm using webmail. If the ATT/Yahoo mail starts having problems, I might get very VERY upset. We don't want that.
  21. You should have called and asked me. I've had two systems installed in recent years, remember. I can refer someone without question.
  22. Wellstar also has a perinatal loss support group. You can call them or check their website: www.wellstar.org Share Atlanta is also a good one to find support groups. http://www.shareatlanta.org/legacy/sgrpregl.htm I think Compassionate Friends has a chapter in Paulding. I know in 2001/2002 they were in the planning stages of starting one. Don't know for certain that it ever got off the ground or not. There are a number of people on Pcom who have been impacted by infant loss, stillbirth and miscarriage. Maybe a Pcom group would be a good place to start. If not one already
  23. Here, in part, is the reply my daughter got from the CDC: CDC is not a regulatory or enforcement agency and does not make policy decisions. Now that she has this information directly from the CDC, she can contact the doctor's office and have ammunition to complain.
  24. You would have, too! Surprised my darling daughter didn't. This particular type of ultrasound does not require a full bladder. I checked with someone very, very familiar with imaging to verify that. So, that was not the reason they wouldn't let her go to the bathroom.
  25. I saw on the CDC website the recommendations about child visitors to hospitals. You're right--it doesn't apply to doctor's offices. And even in regard to hospitals, it is only a recommendation.
