  1. If this person is not your supervisor and you have never even met face-to-face, why on earth would you NEED to suit her needs for anything?
  2. Federal taxes are not deductible but if you receive interest from the IRS because of a delay in getting your refund, you must report that interest. State income taxes are deductible on your return IF you itemize.
  3. Just wanted to give an update on this. With my antivirus software working in the background, I clicked on the links in the e-mails. It takes you to a site that looks EXACTLY like the corporations division website. EXACTLY. However, I do not feel as though it is legitimate in spite of that fact. I didn't go through the entire process that it gives in the e-mail but just don't feel good about doing so. I just can't get past the e-mail address where they came from being a YAHOO e-mail. I know the state is hard up for money but not THAT hard up. I know what you mean about that Nemie.
  4. These e-mails came on the heels of another I got from "Quickbooks" a week or so ago that is definitely a phishing scheme. I do wonder how this one got my e-mail address, though. I am curious to see if I got one at any of my other e-mail addresses. Think I'll go check that out right now. Edited to say, I didn't get any at the other e-mails. I got the one from "Quickbooks" at all three of my e-mail addresses and only have registered my main e-mail with Intuit.
  5. If you are incorporated and renewed your corporation online, be wary of anything you get by e-mail about changes made to your corporation. I renewed our corporation yesterday, made no changes to registered agent, address, e-mail or anything and this morning got three e-mails asking me to verify those changes by clicking on a link. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!! IT APPEARS TO BE A PHISHING SCHEME. The first red flag about the e-mail was the e-mail address it came from: secretary_of_state_corporations_division@yahoo.com I mean, really, is the state so hard up for money that they have an
  6. Prescriptions for narcotics can only be written and not called or faxed in. DEA licensing dictates how many pills can be written at a time and how often prescriptions can be written, particularly narcotics. Not many doctors are willing to lose their prescribing ability in order to write more scripts just because a patient wants it. Many years ago when I worked in an ortho office we had a patient who had some kind of injury--don't know what kind it was right now--but he claimed that his girlfriend washed the brand new prescription for Percocet in his jeans. Doctor refused to give him anothe
  7. Try this: http://www.atlantapainandspine.com/ We were facing the possibility of not having insurance and my husband needing both maintenance pain meds and a spinal procedure done. We talking honestly and openly with Dr. Cable about it and he was open and honest with us about it. He says that he will work with patients about the costs. Best bet on the prices of the pain meds would be if you could get a generic written and then shop around for the best deal. If you're a Greystone Power member, their prescription discount program is pretty good. You can shop around ONLINE for price
  8. Thanks for reminding of that. I seem to recall seeing there was going to be one in that location but haven't been up that way since Halloween and didn't know if it was open or not. I'll check them out, too. That would be real convenient for me. Thanks Laurie! Will do. Sure wish I could get started this week but just can't that happening.
  9. I can't do it this Thursday but as soon as the baby gets here I can free up my time.
  10. That would be a blast! We should do that. Nothing like knowing someone else is going to be there to motivate me! We should seriously work on this idea.
  11. wish they were closer to me. That sounds like the right price. I used to take aerobics back years ago and loved it. I'd have to lose a good bit of weight to be able to tolerate aerobics now. But after getting on a fitness program, that could happen. I soooooooo want to get started with something. Since I'm no longer working, I don't have the excuse not to do something. And I have to get started with something, too. Walking is just so boring and I can only do it on flat surfaces anyway because of my knees. An exercise bike is good but that only does so much. I want a good fi
  12. Thanks. They are one that I printed out free visit coupons to. I definitely plan to give them a try. Good to hear someone else's experience. What you said about the trainers telling you if you were doing something wrong--that's wonderful. I need to be shown how to do things correctly but don't need a sitter.
  13. I have come to the point where I HAVE to start an exercise program. I like the routine of going to a fitness center and enjoy using various exercise equipment. I live in west Cobb (almost Paulding) and there just isn't much between me and Marietta. That leaves the Hiram area that is easily accessible to me. Even Bodyplex is about 10 minutes from my house, and that is a very doable drive. I'm looking for a fitness center and have these qualifications: I want it to be a comfortable drive--so anything between Cleburne Parkway and Bodyplex is a comfortable drive for me. New Hope or Ne
  14. The procedure and cost of voiding the contract should have been spelled out in the contract you signed. Take a look at it and see if somewhere, perhaps toward the bottom/end of the contract it says what you have to do. Most will charge you a MLS listing fee--I think someone mentioned $50 but that may vary. But take a GOOD look at your contract. If you can find out the name of the broker for the agency, you might contact them directly and see what's going on. If the agent is no longer with the agency, another agent may have the listing since listings generally don't go with the agent
  15. sounds like you plugged a hair dryer in one bathroom and had a heater plugged in the other bathroom and it tripped the circuit breaker. At least that is how that usually happened in my house.
  16. Here's my list so far: my husband my old friend Bob (who told me about the plane) Powder Springs Dad (also named Bob) Tess Happy to have you on my list, PSDad
  17. OK, Tess, I have you down as #4 right after Powder Springs Dad.
  18. That story reminds me of the time our youngest was missing. She was maybe 2 1/2. We searched everywhere. The neighbors, outside, inside, everywhere. Even the cars. Couldn't find her. I came back inside to call the police and thought "hmmmm. there's one place we haven't looked". I opened the door to the closet in her room and there she was, curled up and sound asleep. And we had looked in that closet, just didn't open the door all the way and look in the corners.
  19. Lady of leisure? I am working harder than I ever did when I had a job. New grandbaby on the way, business that hubby and I own going gangbusters, volunteer work. How did I find time to have a job???? Steve is a wonderful guy. The two co-workers I left behind are wonderful as well. I miss all of them. And the clients.
  20. Actually, I retired in November. But I highly recommend them. And I miss them, too.
  21. Well, we do have that birthday thing in common. I'll put you in at #3--right after my husband and the guy who told me about the plane.
  22. A friend of mine recently told me about a jet that he knew about. Can't remember what it was, but I'd buy that and head to Rio! The jet is only a two seater so I'd have to decide who to take with me. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Thinking................
  23. It's a good feeling! Just wait until you pay off the house, too. Nothing feels THAT good.
  24. This doesn't look like it's mispelled. Lots more "artsy" than careless.
