If this wasn't recently, eat red meat for a few days before you go and try again. They test the blood differently now and you may be fine to give. They used to always, but always have to spin mine down and then it would be fine. Now they spin it down to start with. I'd be willing to bet that they collect more blood now. Tina, I'll even send pictures! May call you yet. So far, haven't stopped long enough to even think about it.

Tina (and anyone else interested), The following places have blood drives fairly often: Powder Springs First Baptist Church American Legion on Florence Road in Powder Springs (just off 278) Lost Mountain Baptist Church City of Austell Ward Recreation Center on Dallas Highway Arbor Place Mall If you ever give at one of these locations, you will get called the next time they have a drive there. Apparently the new Red Cross facility down off Camp Creek Parkway is going to be open for walk in, no appointment necessary blood donations. It just hasn't opened for that as of yet.

check this: https://www.givelife.org/ There is one at Lost Mountain Baptist Church in a couple of weeks.

I so wanted to go to the drive in Austell today but it didn't work out. I used to give 6 times a year but haven't been able to make it that much the last couple of years.

I'll let him know. I was just down there and he has something hooked up to the car. Not sure if it is a charger or a light. Too darn cold for me to stand out there and look.

Who Remembers January 7, 1973? 37 years ago today.

I was in my senior year of high school. I remember that snowstorm rather well. I had gotten skates and skating lessons for Christmas but couldn't go to my first lesson because of the icy/snowy roads. You mean I've been out of high school for 37 years??????????????? How did that happen? -
Bob, Apparently he checked the battery and the cables and all were OK. When you turn the key in the switch it goes "click, click, click" but there are lights and they work fine. I had lots of trouble with the starter on my Tempo and it would sound like that. Since getting a starter rebuilt at Clarkdale Starter would be a cheap place to start, he may go ahead and do that since he has known the whole time he has had the car that the starter was going bad. Probably like mine, it just finally quit. I didn't think about the trickle charger, though. I'll mention to my hubby and see if

I'll let him know that. I feel better just knowing they got it home. He can probably do whatever he needs to do to fix it. He just needs to know what is wrong with it.

And if you have the Co-Op card, you can compare prescription prices. There can be HUGE differences between stores. I found that the smaller, independently owned pharmacies had better prices on some things than the big box stores, including Walmart, did. The prescription comparison thing through Greystone is a little tricky to use, but you can a great comparison, including available generics. I don't remember what I was looking for, but one medication that my husband was taking back in the spring in a generic was about 10% of the cost of the brand name. Another one, the brand name

They got it back home. No clue how but they did. It still won't start. Hoping he calls Johnboy tomorrow. I'm bowing out of the deal now. I can take my daughter where she needs to go for the next couple of days. He just needs to get it running SOON. At least it is now where he CAN work on it. Thanks everyone! You Pcom people rock! can he fix it onsite? Without taking it to his shop?

Hey Big Guy, you know I'm praying for you and Lisa. All the time, not just when it is requested. Something will turn up.

My recipe: two cans of cream of chicken OR cream of mushroom soup enough water or chicken stock to thin the soup (about 2 or 3 soup cans) cooked chicken (I prefer breast meat) canned biscuits (I use two cans of 10 biscuits, and usually the cheapest I can find) Put the soup and the water/chicken stock in a large pan and heat to boiling. Add more water or chicken stock if necessary. You don't want it too thick since the biscuits will thicken it a little. After the soup mixture begins boiling, open 2 cans of biscuits. Tear the biscuits into pieces, size depending upon how large the

Hubby found out about this on New Year's Eve and delayed getting anything until he has a chance to look at this one. If he buys, I'll have him do a review.

we've been telling them for a good while that they need to do something about the starter. Lack of money has prevented them from doing that. I guess now they don't have a choice, nor do we. They need a working car. I would hate to have to pack them all up and head to the hospital for the new grandbaby.

I will let my son in law know. I'll be the one paying it but he will be the one meeting Johnboy. He could just take the battery out and walk over to Advance! I may suggest that. Good idea. 1999 (or 2000) Chrysler LHS. Could it be the battery even if it has lights?

That's what I thought but don't know if it would just quit while going down the road if it was a starter. Would Bankhead (Veterans Memorial) and Thornton Road be too far for you to go? I've been saying the whole time it sounded like the starter. He was able to get it off the road and parked safely. Just not at home. I'm going to be there tomorrow having the CV axle boot repaired. Thought I'd talk to Terry, Howell, Lester and Ray about it. I'm sure they can come up with some ideas. Battery seemed to be fine. Lights worked great today. Just wou

My son in law was driving on Bankhead Highway (Veterans Memorial) on Saturday night when the car just quit. It has gas and the battery seems to be charging. It won't crank again. When they try to start it, it just clicks. It has done that the whole time they have had it (almost a year) but it always cranked on about the third try before. Now it won't. Thoughts are that it is either the starter or the alternator. Car people, what is your idea? Also, anyone know of a wrecker service that won't charge an arm and a leg for a tow of about 2 1/2 miles?

That bothered me when I was a kid and still bothers me to this day!

It's so cold that I saw a lawyer with his hands in his own pocket.

We have a TempurPedic. Bought it about two years ago at Mattress Firm in Hiram (the place on the hill in front of Kohl's). You won't have to worry about being cold in winter. It is the warmest sleeping mattress I've ever had including the waterbed. Like it? Yes. Recommend it? Maybe. We both have back problems, plus I have neck problems, and in some way I feel that the mattress has NOT helped that even though it is supposed to. I know it is far, far superior to a pillowtop mattress, which I will never again allow in my house. Almost wish we had a Sleep Number bed now. I do

Getting one on the 19th. Best of all, this office is about a mile and a half from my house!

I told a co-worker five days after the first date that I had gone out with the man I was going to marry. Slightly more than six months later I did. It will be 32 years in March. Nobody thought it would work. NOBODY. Nobody believed I was over my previous love. While that was true, this has worked out.

I am most thankful for the renewed friendship. I have reconnected with an old flame and now have a wonderful friendship with him. We share thoughts, our lives, our concerns. He has become a valued and trusted friend. We had a lot of things to clear up between us and have become closer because of it. I have dealt with the past and for the first time in years feel more capable of dealing with the future. Thank you to Bob for your friendship this year. I hope it isn't 26 years until I see you again, like it was last time.

In July 2007 I was told my mammogram was abnormal. My primary care physician wanted me in for a complete physical since it had been over 2 years since I had been in, and that was for the flu. So I made an appointment for a "complete physical". I was in and out of there in less than a half hour, barely had my blood pressure taken, he only in passing listened to my chest, asked me a few questions, showed me the new EMR system and told me that he couldn't make any money on me because I was so disgustingly healthy. I asked him what to do about the abnormal mammo and he said "nothing". The rad

It's probably BECAUSE of insurance that she had to make that call. Not a way for the office to get more money, trust me on that.
