Thanks, Mrs. G.....where is Helping Hands and they don't want to give up their dog (I understand that) so, do you know if there is a shelter that will accept them with a pet?
-
Man/Woman & small dog had been paying rent on time, didn't know the landlord had let the house go into foreclosure, now living out of car because the shelters can't take the dog......Just wondering if anyone on pcom knows of any assistance for situations like this. I do not know this family - came to me as an email from a friend whose trying to help. Said they'd called thru all the agencies Thursday afternoon & Friday and were pretty much told homeless shelters are the only thing right now and, with the dog, they can't go there.......I thought the eviction notices had to be posted at

Also, The Georgia National Cemetary is having an aerial honor guard flyover at 11:15 on Monday following an 11 a.m. ceremony and beginning at 1 p.m., Cobb County Airfield is having a official welcome home to the 48th after their 12 month deployment - flyovers and a static display of the planes that flew over the cemetary earlier...We plan to go from Marietta straight to the airport...... We'll also be at Marietta where we have been for several years now. The old guys from WWII that my son corresponds with have mentioned different times about how the "folks today" are at the lake or beach or partying. They feel as if we're bound to repeat our mistakes because we don't teach the young ones what the day is all about. We've been at Oconee since yesterday morning & will come home in the morning so that we can go to the Atlanta History Center and visit with the veterans who set up there ever year. In my old neighborhood, when the builder landscaped around the "office" trailer thing - every single time - someone would steal the shrubs/flowers. He finally stopped trying and then everyone was complaining that it was ugly. My idea - tell your neighbor with the new shrubs/flowers to stop stealing & it would look better! -
It's a girl?? First answer off the top of my head - send her back to her planet until she's around 21!!! LOL My son is almost 13.....I watch the girls around us that are his age and WOW - just WOW.... They're not the same species!!!

He's pretty cool. He was shot down over Muenster, Germany, but the plane made it back across before crashing. 1 was killed. He carries a picture of the wreckage in his wallet - a faded, yellowed, creased piece of history. He still writes about once a month and has done "interviews" with my son (my son makes up a questionaire about things he wants to know and he answers them all). He & his wife have become sorta extended family. He's just turned 90. He loves kids & spends time at museums/events teaching them about the war. He means alot to my son and I do not look forward to the

my son met some WWII vets a couple of years ago at a Memorial day event. He & this one old guy just clicked - even though my son was 10 at the time. Anyway, the old guy had just presented some of his stuff to the museum and told us about it. He got our address and sent my son some patches from his unit and some things that I thought a family member should have, but, he & his wife said there was no family. After a couple of letters back and forth, he sent my son a lifetime membership to the Mighty 8th. We've taken him several times. He always finds something new. It's a pretty co

We had a "foster" dog a few years back that, when she came in, had this area that she was nawing at. I thought she had a "hot spot" or since she had fleas - thought that was it - so I treated it accordingly. Within two days, the hair fell out and I could really see this thing. Took her to the vet immediately and they said "brown recluse". She had to have surgery to removed the damaged tissue. They had to remove a HUGE area. Was scary!! So, watch the animals too.

My link Please add a bit more than just a link. for instance you could have written: The Atlanta Journal Constitution (link above) reports that Kiersten Mazzola, 20, flipped her Ford Escape allegedly because she was avoiding a dog on the road. she and a passenger were able to escape the Escape without injuries but her infant child was injured in the accident and taken to an Atlanta hospital specializing in children. Ms. Mazzola was charged with DUI and child endangerment in the accident, the newspaper reported. The passenger in the car, Michael Anderson, 25, was the father of

My son actually asked his kindergarten teacher if he could teach the class so they could go faster. He's in private now. We thought we might have to go public at one point - looking at financial reasons - and, when I took his paperwork with me, the woman in the office looked at his test scores and said we needed to do everything we could to keep him in private. He's age wise 6th, in 7th taking 9th grade math & language arts and has never made anything but A's. He took the SAT this year thru the Duke TIP program and scored in the top 3% of graduating seniors in the state. Over the years,

I have an only child......when we'd be at the park when he was smaller, he'd do the same thing. You would not believe the number of kids who'd say things like "I don't know you so I am not allowed to play with you" or "why, don't you have any of your own friends". I mean, they were 5 & 6 years old, for heavens sakes......But, it taught him to be kind to the underdog. The principal has told me that my son stands up for anyone that is being picked on.

No, just looked.....if you google it, every news station in the country still has it on their sites and the videos still play....The first one I saw had all 3 minutes and it immediately started playing.....I hope this "viral" video is a wakeup call that this is not necessary nor appropriate for this age child.

But.....some schools (and colleges) have uniforms that cover more skin......are those cheerleaders not as good as the others?

BP: Mile-long tube sucking oil away from Gulf well

I KNOW that! That's what i meant.....the news is reporting that our illustrious president is rethinking OUR drilling offshore.....So, BP & others will be drilling off of our shores in the "international waters", but we won't be. -
Oh, hey, I know mine isn't perfect and that he will push it - it's a childs nature to push the boundaries - helps make them who they'll become. I do, however, tell other moms - and he knows this - that if they witness him doing something - they are to call and let me know. See, I know that what he tells me is from a, at this point, almost teenagers perspective with alot of emotion & hormones happening. I do want to hear an adults side also. Not saying I don't trust him or I think he's bad or anything else. This was my momma's way of raising me and it sure kept me outta alot of things

I hate it too......although, with time, nature will recover. Another shame in all of this is that this thing is in "international waters" - from what I've read - but, as that's not being told - people are now saying we shouldn't drill. So, we won't drill, but other nations will still be drilling off of our coasts in "international waters"??? -
