  1. My property value varies by $200,000 between Eppraisal and Zillow. Where do they come up with this stuff?
  2. We used McClung Surveying last year due to a neighbor with boundary issues. It was around $400 but that also included the drawings. I can see why it costs as much. Those guys were here for quite awhile doing whatever it is they do lol. With my douchy neighbor, I'd have paid $1000 for it and still been happy...money WELL spent.
  3. haha! A little too much mail delivery today?
  4. Unless someone is rolling around in filth and pig poop all day long, I don't see why turning inside out would be an issue. I do it for most things because it reduces the fading and pilling.
  5. But by paying it down, you are paying less interest. If you are like me, I get no break on my taxes from paying interest. This fall I will have paid off our second house because I HATE paying the bank any amount of interest.
  6. I have a five foot King Snake (Mr. Slithers) who scares the snot out of me everytime I see it. But I appreciate him from a distance because aside from eaiting mice, they also eat poisonous snakes. I'll keep Mr. Slithers...even if he magically appeared on my windshield.
  7. For me personally, if I were afraid to drive it, it would be time to get a new one. Safety comes before anything in my opinion. But I have a Toyota with 140k miles on it and have never had any issues with it (knocking on wood)
  8. Change doctors, not specialties. I'd never go to a GP for something that required a Specialist, even though I absolutely LOVE my GP. Sorry that anyone took my post as being judgmental towards the people who need medication. I simply don't trust the drug companies anymore. Although I'm glad that the drugs they dispense do offer some people reief for their diseases. Perhaps I'm just bitter. I've been through every biologic out there and also some drug studies. My last shot is a stem cell transplant. I'd never besmirch someone for taking a medication they need. I just find the drug
  9. I'm not being judgmental about people who take these drugs. I don't need to be lectured about auto-immune diseases either. Unfortunately, there is a reason why I know more than the average person about biologic drugs. It's the drug companies I don't trust anymore. By the way, if you have to ask your GI doc, dermatologist or Rheumy about taking these drugs, I personally would find another one.
  10. Based by the commercials on tv; Gout, Psoriasis, and Crohn's Disease are on the rise. Before that it was Restless Leg Syndrome, Osteoporis, and Fibromyalgia. And apparently Erectile Dysfunction and female Birth control is an on-going issue. I always find the drug commercials very interesting. On a sidenote: I think it's more than coincidental that the biologic drug "Humira" being advertised for Psoriasis is also a leading drug used to treat Crohn's Disease. Hmmmmmmmm....coincidence that they are advertising at the same time??? Even more interesting when you know that Humira is at
  11. Why not cut into the cantaloupe to sample it, or cut an onion in half to make sure it's not rotten? If I get something that's rotten, gone bad, etc...I return it to the store from which I purchased it.
  12. Oh, and if it's a reputable company, they'll also offer medical, dental, life insurance, 401k, etc. That's one way to sort the good from the not-so-good companies.
  13. A lot of people get the idea that they HAVE to be over there for at least one year. Actually, the term "contractor" comes from the fact that the company you are working for is under contract with the US Govmt. A lot of those contracts are one year so that may be where that idea came from. The company my husband works for has a 5 year contract with the government. Both companies my husband has worked for has never required a contracted amount of time. He can quit anytime he wants. I'm sure there are a few companies that do that but it's not something we would opt for. Also, one stipulati
  14. I didn't get one. Maybe try again
  15. "Sampling" a grape or cherry is stealing, period. What else could it be?
  16. My husband has worked overseas on and off for a couple years for two different well known companies. Be careful, a lot of those jobs advertised are scams. Throughout the years, we have become friends with people from all over the world working in that region. The income is interesting. I've seen salaries range from $50k a year to $450k. Most of the higher paying jobs usually go to people who know somebody else over there and they are in the less desirable areas. But everyone has a different definition of "high paying" too. If you have questions, feel free to ask me. The most importa
  17. I'm sure if they did a sampling of that fruit, they'd find tons of fecal matter. Yuck!
  18. I totally forgot about the produce bags! They work awesome, as long as whatever fruit or veggie you put in the bag is dry. I buy them at Big Lots since they are a lot cheaper. They have kept some produce almost three times as long as without the bag. Peeves me off since I think the grocery store should provide the fancy produce-saving bags instead of those useless plastic crud they give you.
  19. You didn't eat any papayas lately, did ya? Papayas Recalled for Salmonella
  20. Instead of donating all this stuff to someone standing on a corner, why not donate it to a food bank so it can be properly distributed?
  21. My husband served as an Infantry Marine for over 27 years and has spent over four years in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's not nearly as jaded and bitter as you, thankfully. Perhaps you should seek professional help for that. Good luck to you! Murders, rape, kidnapping, assaults, etc happen every day in Metro Atlanta. Surely you must hate everyone in this area as well.
  22. Good luck with that. I usually buy only 2 or 3 at a time to keep the banana anxiety to a minimum. I do know that you should NEVER keep an apple by a nanner. The gases from the apple will cause the banana to rot much faster.
  23. I don't give money or food to people who make begging a daily habit. I feel I am only enabling them at that point.
