  1. My day is not complete without The Postmans outdated pie chart. Postman, you never answered my question, the whole point of this topic before your typical rantings... what amount of money per year makes someone "rich" in your opinion???
  2. That's great for sure but it doesn't pay the bills.
  3. I definitely think a person's wealth is relative.
  4. That was my sarcasm sneaking it's way in.
  5. This term gets thrown about so much. What is your definition of the word, "rich"? If a person makes $100k a year, $200k, $300k, or 2 million a year are they rich? Where is the line between upper middle class and the evil rich? What do you think?
  6. It's actually cheaper to keep them in prison for life than to give them the death penalty. I think it should be up to the family of the victim if they want to seek death or not. I suppose it already is to a point but I don't think anyone else should have a say. I have no idea what I would do because I cannot imagine being in that position. Hope I never find out.
  7. Its all my SINGLE mother could afford while raising us. Why are you being such a b*tch? Bad day at the office or what?
  8. Bring your own book. Dr's Office magazines are infested with germs. Yuck!
  9. Did you just attempt to insult my Mother? Seriously? Aldi's food is nasty. I will not touch it. Ever.
  10. Vomit. My mom raised me and my brothers on Aldi's food. I fight the urge to toss my lunch everytime I see an Aldi's. I've noticed that in the South they are built in the uhhhh, not so nice areas.
  11. Go to Marietta Eye clinic to see an OPTHAMOLOGIST and then take the prescription wherever you choose (Pearle, America's Best, WalMart, Sam's, etc). If she is covered under insurance, than it should pay for an eye exam. Please, take them to an eye DOCTOR and not just an optometrist. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=22559 An Opthamologist saved my eyesight when I was five years old.
  12. If you try DSW, go to Off Broadway shoes across the street also. I don't know if they have narrow shoes or not, but between the two stores there is one heck of a selection. Whenever I go home to visit my Mom, I always take her to a specialty shoe store to get her QUALITY shoes for her bad feet. She can't wear shoes off the rack so this store has been a blessing. Unfortunately, specialty shoes are A LOT more expensive. Yet definitely worth it. Edited to add: the DSW Rewards program is pretty good so sign up for it if you purchase anything. They send lots of coupons and certificates g
  13. You most certainly CAN get worms from going barefoot. Hookworms to be more precise. http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/hookworm/ Ick.
  14. It's a knee jerk reaction. We have MUCH bigger issues. Stop wasting time and our money.
  15. Good Lord people, let it go. She is not guilty. Move on.
  16. Wow, I'm surprised It didn't take us any extra time because the company (Superior Plumbing) pulled the permit. Ours was fixed within one day of it flooding our garage. It took awhile for the inspector to come out but I didn't care since I had hot water.
  17. In Cobb you do, that's why I asked (at least for gas you do). In fact, I was glad to know they do that so my neighbor doesn't blow up his house and mine. But I figured in Paulding there is probably no way. Especially considering the joke of an inspection my rental house had when it was built. The plumbing company pulled the permit so it was no big deal.
  18. Do you have to pull a permit and get an inspection in Paulding for a water heater install? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but figured I'd ask anyway.
  19. Good for you. Obviously this topic is not all about you then.
  20. I am not making generalizations. I am stating fact. A morbidly OBESE person is not healthy. It's a medical fact. I'm not saying just run of the mill, Paulding couty overweight. Morbidly obese is NOT healthy. Plus, there are many diseases that have nothing to do with a person's weight. A fat or thin person can get cancer, AIDS, Malaria, TB, Crohn's disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc. Their weight has nothing to do with why or how they got sick. So you are correct, you cannot generalize either way when the person is simply overweight. But morbidly obese people are not healthy...ever.
  21. The majority of America is fat, not big boned, not suffering from auto immune diseases...they are fat. And more especially, people from the South are fat. It's a fact. I HAVE to eat healthy foods, I can't imagine eating what I see people buying in the grocery store. The fat moms with her fat kids, buying tons of Mountain Dew and blocks of Velveeta cheese. It boggles my mind that a Mom would feed their kids that poison. I do think they should tax unhealthy foods. Why not? They tax cigarettes and alcohol. Make the parents pay for feeding their kids crap. Putting kids in foster care is n
  22. What type of crab legs do the "all you can eat" places serve? I will only eat Alaskan King crab and I don't recall ever seeing an "all you can eat" place. Sure would love to find one though.
  23. When I start to miss my husband terribly, I always remind myself it could be a lot worse. So get rent a chick flick, get a big ol' bowl of popcorn and jump in bed and enjoy your temporary extra space.
