  1. I used to live off BR6. That whole area has gone down quite a bit. I hated going to Ingle's because I was almost always harassed in the parking lot by someone. The last time I ate at Tequila's, there was a stabbing in the parking lot outside. If I remember correctly, there was also an armed robbery there as well. I feel bad for the good people who have to live amongst the criminals.
  2. Hong Kong Star mails out menus occasionally to everyone in their delivery area. I live 4-5 miles from them and am DELIGHTED that they deliver to me.
  3. Is it low fat/no fat yogurt? Or just ice cream being called yogurt?
  4. I've not been, but I chuckle at the silly name everytime I drive by.
  5. Most credit cards charge a fee when being used in a foreign country. Yes, Mexico is a foreign country too. My bank calls (and texts) me first if there is unusual charge. They have never declined a transaction without first attempting to contact me.
  6. I have ADT and pay $30 a month for police/fire plus monitoring for Carbon Monoxide and smoke.
  7. What do you consider "reasonable"?
  8. My bank didn't care about a $10,000 airfare to Dubai but called over a $10 Skype charge. It's UNUSUAL activity that flags. I'm glad my bank does this. Otherwise, they would just pass the cost of fraud onto the customers in the form of more fees.
  9. People get their credit card number stolen all the time with their card in their possession. Quite frankly, I'd be afraid of a bank that didn't flag unusual activity. I travel quite a bit so my bank doesn't call me for every out of town charge. I don't tell them when I'm leaving Metro Atlanta. But I do notify them if leaving the country.
  10. Yep, they have sit down, or you can order take out. If you are lucky like me, you might live in their delivery area . They are located behind the BP station in the little strip mall If you Google it, you'll find the website for their Acworth location. Dang, now I'm craving it.
  11. Hong Kong Star on 41 at Mars Hill. They use all white chicken meat in their General Tso's. By FAR the best you'll find in the vicinity.
  12. Everytime my husband or I travel out of the country, I put an alert on my account. USAA will also text you (on top of calling) if they suspect fraud.
  13. PIECHART PIECHART PIECHART!!! Yay, yet another day is complete with the use of the out dated piechart. :yahoo:
  14. I'm not unplugging the main DVR. With UVerse, the other FIVE boxes I have for each tv all use power and stay on needlessly. I'm unplugging those. But thanks for your input.
  15. You are MAGNIFICENT! Thank you for doing the math I could not do. Even though it's probably only a few bucks, I'll probably unplug a few anyway. I only use those boxes once every couple months. I completely appreciate the math involved because it made my head hurt just looking at it. Lemme know if you ever need a "Mayberry". I have a few to spare
  16. I'll go in halfsies with ya, if I can borrow it for a week
  17. I'm all about saving money regardless of whether I can afford it or not. Rich people didn't get that way by throwing money away. If it meeans unplugging a few things in my house that I don't use to save me $10 a month, I'll do it. Why waste it?
  18. I don't let myself stress over anything (even though my husband is overseas). Stress makes people sick. Unhappiness makes people ill. I believe life is too short to be making yourself sick over anything. I let a lot more things go than I should just to preserve my own health and happiness. I found it's also easier to let go the more you do it. Best of luck to you, hope this is just a hypothetical question. If not...
  19. Hey, both of you have cheaper rates than me. But Cobb EMC is kind enough to give a 5% discount if I pay early Oh no, I take that back. I pay a $9.95 service charge instead of that ugly $24 per month. I'm just learning all kinds of useless shiznit today
  20. That's the extent of my work to figure this out. Numbers make my skull cramp. There is no way to turn any of the boxes off. I just checked one in my guest room that I rarely use and it was hot underneath from running. Even if you power it off, it's still lit up and running. So I unplugged the punk. Grrrrrr. Now this is bugging me. My husband would laugh at me for stressing over pennies a day but now it's just the principle of the matter. When I say "Off" I mean "OFF!!!!" Hey Bubba, how's that math thing coming along?
  21. Hmmmm, my main DVR is 2.5 amps and the ones on the 5 other tvs are 1.67 each. That's a lot of math for someone as challenged as I. But it looks to be a lot of money.
  22. I would just put it right back in the box with the flag up. BUT if it becomes a regular thing, you might want to check your credit report and make sure no one is using your info somehow.
