  1. Doesn't the Army/National Guard use the Paulding airport for training exercises?
  2. Now you guys have convinced me. Next time I venture down to the supermercado, I will pick up a kilo or so.
  3. I see oxtail at the grocery store (I live in Costa Rica) and have been curious about that. Maybe I'll get my nerve up to try it. I'm always drawn to the odd looking meats but I have to resist the urge to look at them through my hands. It's like a horror movie I want to watch but am afraid to.
  4. I'll try anything. But I can't get over the cow tongue at the meat counter. I couldn't eat that. I just couldn't. I won't eat things processed things like condensed cream of anything soup, white bread, velveeta cheese, frozen diet dinners, or Hot Pockets. YUCK!
  5. I went in there years ago when they were having weekly yard sales. It wasn't anything spectacular even when it was finished. It was creepy, it echoed, and the layout was odd. The big marble horses were uhhhh, different.
  6. I use the Benadryl "Itch Stick" and it works well for me. Just a little dab and the itching goes away.
  7. Unless there is an epidemic of West Nile or Dengue (which hit Key West a few years back) mass spraying for mosquitoes can do more harm then good. Who knows what other animals, insects, and or humans it harms. I can't imagine that it is good for the environment one bit. I'm not a tree hugger but the thought of chemicals being sprayed randomly seems like overkill. I was just forced to have my home srayed inside and out, the past three weeks in a row for mosquito transmitted Dengue Fever. I had no problem with doing so because it's an epidemic here this year. Otherwise, no thanks. I w
  8. People with O blood attract more mosquitoes, as do people who drink beer.
  9. I'd think that it would be safer there than most people's backyards in Paulding County (or anywhere else). Guns don't come with Breathalyzers.
  10. Unfortunately, every time I see this topic title, I get a frightening mental image.
  11. Another thing I love about Costa Rica...I can go to a lab and get a test done and results back in 20 minutes. I'm headed over to the lab in a few to get tested for Dengue Fever. There's something not so great about CR LOL. There's no such thing as paradise.
  12. I live in Costa Rica. A developing country (not third world) often touted for it's socialized medicine. They disbanded their military in the 1960's and put that money towards medicine, education, and social issues. I absolutely love this country but I will not use the socialized medicine unless I absolutely have to. Many of the Expats I know here also will not use it. Many of the Ticos I have met use a combination of the private and socialized medicine. Why? Because the care takes absolutely way too long. I can go to a private hospital and have the best care imaginable, in a state of t
  13. I miss my Tempurpedic with adjustable platform. We had a Bellasonna and it was heavenly. Absolutely heavenly. I was very close to getting a 20 ft shipping container just to bring my mattress with me. This topic has been done many, many times on PCom. Every one has a different opinion. Best thing to do is try it out for yourself.
  14. PCom kept me entertained, mildly sane, and up to date through multiple deployments and years of my husband being in a combat zone. We both were from out of state, put in GA by the military. I had no family and no support system in the area so PCom helped quite a bit. I continued to hang out on PCom even when he came home and we moved to Cobb County. I'm still around now even though we have since moved to Central America. Happy Birthday PCom!
  15. We had a couple come over for dinner and drinks last weekend. She brought her IPad so she could play Candy Crush. I refused before, but that sealed the deal. I will never play Candy Crush, and I will not have that chick over again.
  16. We had an issue with water coming in through our windows in our living room. Turns out it was a leak in the roof. Our insurance company would not pay to repair the roof. But they did pay for the extensive damage done to all the bead board inside and out, paint, windows, etc. They explained to me that they won't fix what caused the issue but they will pay to fix everything else that stemmed from the issue. We have USAA if that helps at all. Good luck! I had a few companies come out to give an estimate. But I ended up going with a company that was recommended by my insurance company
  17. Yep, I've said from day one as well that something isn't right here.
  18. I noticed while watching a 24/7 news channel today that the word, "actually" is used way too much. In one segment, the anchor said "actually" five times. That's actually a little too much.
  19. My husband has been saying "true dat" lately and it's working my last nerve. He's the king of one liners (shining like a diamond in a goats butt, as busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest, shoot the alligator closest to the boat, etc etc etc etc etc). But this little nugget of annoyance has got to go.
  20. Yes! They are so much larger. I was shocked at how much I could fit in my fridge. Side by side is a huge waste of space.
  21. I can't stand the phrases (as they are not sentences) that begin with "That awkward moment when..." or "The embarassing moment when..." It's not a sentence. What about that moment? Ugh, kills me
  22. I prefer stainless. It's easy to clean once you get the hang of it. Black looks so, ehhhhh to me. There are some stainless that are much easier to clean than others.
  23. Good morning. Hmph. Woke up with a hangover and haven't gotten out of bed yet.
