I know SPHS had one in their yard last year. You could check with them.

Congratulations!

Back in those days many families were farm families. They struggled to feed their healthy, able-bodies kids. They couldn't spare someone to watch over a disabled child when the rest of the family needed them to work. Birth control was not practiced. My own father's family had 12 children. (None were sent to a home, but he did have a sister who was deaf and blind due to a fever. She died as a child. Many families just didn't feel they had any choices.

Yes, I regularly check to see if anyone I knew has passed. My mom, before she away from a long battle with cancer, would sit and listen to the obituaries on radio and this was only within the past ten years. As for wanting to know why, I am one of those people. They used to post the reason regularly according to old newspapers. Some were listed on their tombstones. It helps to keep a historical record. I can honestly say I don't understand why people would want to hide it. When I pass away, I have made it very clear that, regardless to the circumstances, I want the reason I died l

My answer is not up there. We do wrap parent to child gifts. Santa wraps some and some he does not. Depends on the gift. Santa at my house is sometimes mischievous and sends them on scavenger hunts or tapes up boxes with Monster tape or you have to really dig through the box. It is a fun time.

Yep, they are ugly.

Yes, I will be the first to admit that bad spelling bothers me. At the same time, I know way too many people who simply have a difficult time spelling, so I have just learned to accept it. I also have noticed that my own brain is allowing mistakes to get past me. I will type the word "there" and check to see that I actually typed "their". Very annoying. I attempt to check anything I type now, but sometimes I miss it. Pretty bad to be annoyed at your own spelling errors.

I hadn't heard...

Yep, I will agree to most of that. I am a person who follows the rules. As the child of someone who abused alcohol and allowed addictions to overtake their life, I am seriously biased. I have known people who started with marijuana who went on to more serious drugs. It has ruined and cost some of them their lives. I don't drink or do drugs. I don't even smoke. I will never have an aboortzion. (Probably too late for that anyway). I turned down an amnio when I asked if there was something they could do if they found a possible problem. They said no, so I said why bother.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I am very glad you are posting about seat belts with your child walking aware from what could have a tragedy. You have raised a very intelligent son. I am glad he is ok! I plan to show this your picture to my kids ages 17, 15, and 12

I'm probably in the minority here, but just because he is a well-known and well-like celebrity, it shouldn't give him a free pass to break the law. I don't think he should be treated as if he is above the law. He knowing and willingly committed a crime. How would you feel if he was a judge or your president who committed the same crime? Free pass or held accountable?

If it was a large, reputable company, I don't think I would have a problem with it. The hr department could match a photo to the resume' or it might be a security procedure. If the job was dealing with potentially hazardous products or if it is a high security company it is probably standard. A very small or unknown company, I would probably have a problem with it. Especially since they got back to you so quickly. Too quickly maybe. It just depends on who the actual hirer is.

What a great idea. Really gives me faith in the company when they look toward pizza-eaters for "qualified" applicants instead of colleges, etc.

May I add one please.... While traveling towards Douglasville on Doris road, a vehicle in front of me turned left (with a blinker)into a driveway. As he was completely off the road, I accelerated only to watch the car to begin to enter back into the road. The car was halfway into my lane. Thankfully, the oncoming cars were far enough away that I was able to go around him on the right as did the car directly behind me. Scared me to death. It could have turned very bad with me hitting either them, an oncoming car head-on and getting rear-ended. Moral: When exiting the road,

Overall, the bikes usually follow the rules and are courteous. However, both my kids and i have had more than our share of being cursed at and run off the trail by these speedsters that think they own the road. To these people, the stop signs and road crossings merely disrupt their high speed workout. It takes a big man to cuss at a little girl with training wheels just because she is close to the center line while riding. Next time, an accidental stick in the spokes should do the trick...

I agree with you. I think he was giving himself an excuse to "Throw the First Stone". He wasn't condoning or saying anything else. People just took it the wrong way, much like how the original Ernest T. Bass was "misunderstood".

I love live trees you can replant. One is in front of our home and is now taller than the house.

I haven't changed my mind.

- If you think this is unethical behavior / harassment by the attorney, then file a complaint with the Georgia Bar Association. They call it their "Consumer Assistance Program" --- http://www.gabar.org/programs/consumer_assistance_program/ -

I am so sorry for the this ended. Prayers for his family and friends. At least they can have closure.

If I start throwing up there are only two reasons. One is a very bad stomach virus. The 2nd, well I usually head to the story for a kit, but I'm about too old to worry about that anymore.

I don't have any additional advice other than what was already suggested. I hope this doesn't keep you from helping someone else in need. I know if it had been my child, I would have been extremely grateful to you and your son for helping him.

I just checked the page. As of an hour ago, nothing new to report. There was talk of bringing in special dogs, but the rain would have an affect on the scent.

Congrats, it sounds like you raised your son the right way since he did not take advantage of the free coed tutoring, the drunk parties, the letter grade bump up, etc. Funny, we don't see art, english, computer, and geology majors having these problems. They just get expelled.
