  1. I don't hold grudges, but I never forget. Don't want it to happen again.
  2. Really, I never heard of it before.
  3. My child told me he found a way to stop a sneeze. Kinda of silly though. He said the next time I felt a sneeze coming on "to look up at a light and say 'hippopotamus'". I told him IF I remembered to do it I would try it. Well, this morning on my way to daycare, I felt a sneeze. I looked up at my blacktop roof and said "hippopotamus". The sneeze literally disappeared. I haven't sneezed since so I haven't had the opportunity to test it again, but (if I remember), I will. Cool beans.
  4. Awesome story. Thank you for sharing!
  5. I didn't read the article, but I saw the news last night. From what I saw it was an energy drink, WITH ALCOHOL, that was being placed with all the other energy drinks and that kids were getting them. It might say alcohol on the label, but the drink can I saw last night was very decorative, for lack of a better word. The label announcing alcohol was vertical and many will not pay attention to it. If it was in the cooler with the alcohol, I wouldn't care. If it's with the other energy drinks that have become way too popular with our teens, I have a problem. As the child of someone
  6. I'm so sorry your family is going through that. I am glad your wife is there for her parents. Prayers said.
  7. I would say to post on the bulletin boards at the local colleges -- chattahoochee, shorter, & west georgia, but $650 is a little high for a student. Most of the roomate listings there are in the $450 range. god luck
  8. This is one of my worst nightmares for my children to come home to something like that. I will keep this young man in my prayers.
  9. Sorry to disappoint you, but my excitement overtook my desire to do previous searches. And, honestly, I only have the opportunity to visit Pcom in snippets, but I would have happily jumped on the bandwagon if I had seen a similar post. Anyway, still patiently waiting.....
  10. Sounds like he was an amazing person you would be proud of. I'm am sorry for your loss.
  11. Yes, that one. And there are a bunch of Yums at Taco Bell.
  12. I am happy to see a new restaurant being built. TACO BELL!!!!! Yum, yum, yum. Saw the sign today outside Kroger on business 6. Now I don't have to make the trip to Hiram. So excited! :yahoo:
  13. I saw some at Kohl's in the kids department. They looked comfy, so I let my skinny, 12-year-old try them on. She had trouble pulling them up and they didn't fit right, so we didn't buy them. I didn't check the price as she is hard to fit and I would probably have bought them if it wasn't too outrageous.
  14. Don't know about Burnt Hickory, but we had some in Dallas
  15. Warehouse of Hope on Hunter Road is in Paulding. They are always looking for volunteers. They allow children to work under their parent's supervision. Not sure how young. I've worked there a few times and will volunteer again when school calms down. Telephone: 770-489-0509
  16. But you don't have to do either. It is your choice.
  17. What was her response? I missed it.
  18. Actually, I agree with you. I think she just made a really dumb decision. No one can say for certain what they would do after an accident, even if they had been in an accident before. Panic might set in and you could react in a number of different ways that you never thought you would do. My own father was involved in a rollover accident and, with a broken leg, walked to get help. He was traumatized. That part I get. Running home to mom, I get. You go someplace where you feel safe. That's instinct. Now, after the shock is over, she should have turned herself in. No doubts here.
  19. "IF" the longest wait time in Paulding was 4 hours, it wasn't the worst.... The Link
  20. I actually appreciated the letter she wrote. I remember the long lines, the paper ballots. With the new voting system, you can even enlarge the ballots so my tired eyes can read it. I don't actually remember, but I doubt that was available with paper ballots. I saw on one of the news reports that some country had mandatory voting. Imagine if you did not exercise your right to vote, you could be locked up or fined. I don't vote in every election, which should make some of you happy since it lowers the number in line. Either way, it is my choice. If it really bothers you fol
  21. I waited for 2 hours (4:51 - 6:51) at AMS. I was behind an 82 yo. In the past, someone has always come around looking for elderly, etc. No once came. At the door there was a sign stating from something until 4:30 you could go to the head of the line. He had missed the time. And he was a new voter. We had no disgruntled voters in my section of the line. Toddlers with parents in tow wandered around the grassy area happily. Got a little chilly, but not too bad. No gripes here. I knew it was an important election and I had not voted early so it was on me. Just glad the rain held off
  22. Just a normal blanket. Almost lost my home due to negligence on my part (I was a kid). I left a heated blanket on and it burned my room up. Just thinking about it could have happened when I was asleep cured me of every using one again.
