  1. This was my first cousin's home that had the tape around it. The home across the street is his parents and some of my other relatives also live on that land, which had belonged to my grandfather and greatgrandfather. From what I understand my cousin had been having problems in his marriage for quite some time and he took his own life. No one expected it and there is no history in my family of anyone doing this. We buried him Tuesday the 17th. Please keep his wife, 3 children, mother, father and sister in your prayers as they all will have a long road ahead of them. Thank you and God bless.
  2. The one that moved out still works in the family businesses, so he probably has been exposed through another family member and brought it home.
  3. My stepmom had to spend about $10,000 on her SSDI lawyer. She also had doctors and even her last employer testify for her before she finally won. I have never applied but I have been told by her that since it is past 5 years I probably would not get it.
  4. The one Duggar that has moved out and gotten married also has an infant right now. So there are 2 infants in the family that could be exposed. My brother and I are 18 months apart. I was 6 and he was 5 when we came down with chickenpox. It was really bad because mom couldn't get us to stop scratching. We even scratched each other's backs! I still have a couple of scars. My mom and half sister came down with German measles when she was only 3 weeks old. My brother and I never caught that one.
  5. No children here but I was 7 when I made my first cake and by age 11 I was cooking pot roast with veggies in a crock pot by myself. I was pretty good except for one incident. MAKE SURE you explain to them, IF they should have a fire, how to use a fire extinguisher and to NEVER put water on a grease fire! I learned this the hard way at the age of 12. Thank God I didn't burn down the house or myself, but just burned Mom's curtains over the sink! I never did that again. By the way, water on a grease fire causes the flame to flare up and flaming grease to splatter everywhere.
  6. Hubby still has his and it still works! Every so often we will put new batteries in it and set it out so that the cats trigger the motion sensor. Talk about some freaked out cats! Whichever one is walking by (and triggers the Furby's sensor) will jump about 2 feet in the air when Furby blinks and talks! We just laugh our butts off. Eventually we put it away before the cats get too traumatized.
  7. Edit: The visitation has been changed to Tuesday 08/17/10 from 10:00am-1:00pm at Villa Rica Chapel. Sorry but I just found out myself after 6pm Monday night as we were on our way to the funeral home.
  8. And I bet NC-17 can do it all while wearing those sexy heels!
  9. I've discovered that if I leave the password on and just bookmark the room in my favorites list, then it is easy to get in and out of.

  13. I received the call from my stepfather this morning at 8:30 am. This is my first cousin on my mother's side. Yes, it is extremely sad it has come to this, but I am mostly saddened for his wife and 3 small children. I wish he had of gotten some kind of help before their lives had gotten this bad. He was 28 years old. He was his parents only son but they do have a daughter. I have not received any information on arrangements but when I do I will post them. Please pray for his wife, children and parents. Thank you and God bless.
  14. Yep. Getting it hard here in New Hope.
  15. Been there and done that! I was so happy, that we went out to dinner to celebrate it! Congrats on your newly transferred ownership. Make sure to give your insurance agent a copy of the pay off letter and title, otherwise they will have the old lien information in their records.
  16. Dad has postcards from all over the world from other HAM enthusiasts that he has talked with. He has a computer/radio room that has wall to wall working computer and radio equipment. He hangs the postcards all over the walls above the equipment. It's pretty neat to sit and read them.
  17. Here is the link for the National Weather Service office in Peachtree City Click on it and look on the lower left hand side for "Education & Outreach", click on that link and you can book a tour for yourself or a group, and print information or brochures online. What information do you need about HAM radios? My dad use to be the president of the Ham Radio Association in Greenville, SC. He has been involved with HAM radios for about 40 years. I don't know much about the subject but I could ask him for you.
  18. I think it will be great for the disabled, for those that are just too busy, or those days when you or the family are sick and shouldn't really be walking around the grocery store. Many times I have been home alone and sick only to break down to go get groceries and have to be walking around the store with a runny nose and temp! BLECH!
  19. Congrats Heather! Or should I say Mrs. Bussey? Or wait Dr. Bussey? You may be busy with changes for a while.
  20. We renewed our vows on 7-7-7 in TN. You wouldn't believe how many couples were getting married. The group that our minister/photographer were with was performing ceremonies every 30 minutes from sunup until past 8pm!
  21. I agree with this. When on our honeymoon in Maui (2000) I found out that papaya has a natural enzyme in it that reduces stomach acid. I have had heartburn/acid stomach issues since I was a teenager and it does seem to help.
  22. HA! We could lose a LOT more than TV if a really big one ever hits! Electricity, cell phones, some forms of communication if a satellite takes a hit (which could include the communication systems for military defense, banking, purchasing with cards at your local stores, etc). I am not sure but I would think it could affect the internet too. Tonight's storm will probably just cause some static and pretty lights in areas of America though.
