  1. Yes, Pate's Appliances & Repair in Dallas. They have repaired my 22 year old Kenmore washer a couple of times, as well as our fridge. We really like them. They have been in business here for several decades. They don't try to trick you with parts or do unnecessary things to pad the bill. Frequently they have parts right in their van or back at their shop. 770-445-4617 If they don't answer then leave a message that includes what you need repaired and they WILL call you back. They seem to stay busy, but have always been quick to respond for us in the past.
  2. Do we know what the approximate opening date for the pub will be?
  3. Friday April 8th from 11:30am - 1:30pm for the first 500 people. It sounds good but I can't stand in line that long due to pain and I still need to find a vehicle to haul a scooter for me so I can get around.
  4. Yes, we are also in New Hope and we have also been getting other people's mail. One of these people are not even a neighbor of ours! I am also wondering where my birthday issue of my Ulta catalog is. ETA: I almost forgot, a letter that was sent to us in February stating that our doctor is leaving his office in April arrived here just last week!
  5. That is fantastic! Congratulations. I am so happy for you Lucky!
  6. Here you go. They will supply the materials and/or landscaping, spreading, grading, etc. depending on what you order. This is the Contract Services Company on Hwy 92 in Hiram that others were talking about. They have been there since I was a kid! My now ex-stepfather purchased railroad ties from them when I was a teen to make flower beds for my mom. http://www.csc-ga.com/index.html
  7. Gosh, this takes me back! I can remember when I was a little girl there was a small grassy mound in front of Swafford's where on nice weekends every one had their yard sales or bake sales. My grandmother and I always checked them out.
  8. Do the kerosene lamps work and are they being sold individually or in a lot? If anyone asks about having something reupholstered then I recommend Ron's Upholstery 770-714-9514. He is 3rd generation in the business, local and also can pick and deliver. I have seen photos of everything from home furniture, boat seats and even a hunting stand that he has reupholstered!
  9. It's very simple how to prevent lice. Use a good quality tee tree oil and put some in each bottle of shampoo and conditioner. Some friends of mine have raised 5 children to adulthood here in Paulding. After one round of lice they found out about this preventative measure and they started using it. They NEVER had another round of lice after that. Three girls and two boys. Also, remind the kids to not share combs brushes, hair fasteners, etc. with anyone that doesn't live in the household with them. Lice can transfer that way, plus they can also jump up to about 4 FEET!
  10. I seen the video in the original post last night and laughed my rear off! That cockatoo REALLY hates it's cage! Tonight I found out that her name is Pebble and she has a TON of videos on Youtube. The one I am posting is her acting silly with her owner. She apparently likes to swing upside down and back up on his arm. Well this sends her into fits of laughter in my posted video and you can't help but laugh with her! Another I seen tonight she was barking like a dog and saying "Come on dog!" LOL
  11. This is horrible! Has a name been released yet?
  12. I am with T Bird on this. Even though there have been many generations of both sides of my family to live in this county I have never received special benefits or an "I'm Special Card" for it. Neither did my parents or grandparents. Neither were any of them born with silver spoons in their mouths. My grandparents worked their asses off like most other people of their time did and others do today. None of them are any longer here today, so I am hoping they have found their rewards in heaven.
  13. I have loved them since I was a kid! He passed away of the same disease as my grandfather.
  14. A Cracker Barrel would be great! I actually had a dream a few weeks ago that a Cracker Barrel was built in Paulding.
  15. Ok. Let me know if he is licensed and insured. I know sheet rock can be tricky. One of the things we need done is a couple of pieces of sheet rock on one wall needs to be torn out and replaced. Has he done something like that for you guys and if so was the work done nicely? We are also thinking about placing some flooring down in one corner of the attic to use that area for storage. Then there are some odd and ends that are more like handy man type of work than what a contractor would do.
  16. Does Sanders charge by the hour or the per job quote? Is he licensed and insured? If we decide to stay longer in this house then a few changes are going to have to be made. We've been here 18 years (from new) but I have become disabled. Same questions as above. Is your carpenter licensed and insured? Do they charge by the hour or per the quoted amount?
  17. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/i-75-shut-down-delk-road-police-activity/nqDR7/ One of the shots hit his abdomen just below his vest. I bet he took some shots directly into the vest. Fields is the name of the GSP that was shot. This started off as a traffic stop for speeding but the suspect never stopped. "Perry said Fields was alert and conscious when he got to the hospital. He underwent surgery Wednesday night and is expected to make a full recovery. "He sounded very lucid. Very awake and alert and very coherent in speaking and explaining what happened," Perry said." The suspe
  18. I am trying to figure out or find the deadline to submit an Application for Official Absentee Ballot. I can't find one by looking at the Georgia My Voter Pages. This isn't the absentee ballot but the application for it. Do you know? Can anyone help me with this as I have never submitted this before. I have printed up the application and I know it needs to be mailed, faxed or dropped off at the registrar's office. I just do not know the deadline for getting it there.
  19. My husband is in PA trying to work. The Governor issued a State of Emergency today ahead of the storm. I have read that they are expecting between 8-18 inches in PA between Friday-Sunday.
  20. Hypothermia or dehydration in a child so young is probably how he passed away. With hypothermia the body first starts shaking with the chills trying to warm itself. If that doesn't work then you slowly become sleepy. He has been missing for a week, so I am sure the searchers and family had to realize he wouldn't be alive. I read that he was found in a field near a briar patch type of area. RIP little one.
  21. When you are walking through the woods with crispy fallen leaves, it can get very loud. I am wondering if he could have fallen into a well when they had their backs turned or he wandered away from them and fell into a well. Most old wells are not marked on property deeds.
  22. I agree with this. It's not warm rain from the gulf. We also need to keep an eye on Friday night and Saturday's forecast.
  23. My left ankle is too. I severely sprained it in the 90s and the doctors told me I would have been better off if it had broken. Since then I get throbbing or burning pain in it when frozen precipitation is on the way. I spent 3 hours in the dentist chair yesterday. Then purchased 6 weeks of cat food and a week of groceries. I've also been watching the weather reports through the National Weather Service's Peachtree City Office. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ffc/
