  1. It's called a "moonbow". It's when either ice crystals or rain, some type of moisture, has the moon beams shining through it and looks like a rainbow surrounding the moon. In the summer it means that rain is on the way. Tonight's full moon is called the "snow moon".
  2. It's almost that time of year to put grub killer down on the yard. We have had such a large network of those and earthworms that we had a huge flock of robins that would come to visit, along with the crows. I don't mind the birds, but when the possums got to be too much is when I laid down the grub killer. I knew we had too many grubs to kill them all but the chemical did cut back on them which made the possums go away. Unfortunately our bird flocks moved on too. The point is that the grub killer does work on reducing your midnight visitors.
  3. The only manner in which my immune system is compromised is from the chronic insomnia. It has something to do with the body chemistry that is only produced with very deep sleep, which most fibro patients never get into or don't stay into that level of sleep for long enough. Also, I am more likely to develop bronchitis than most people due to a previous history of it and the asthma. I do agree about the shingles vaccine. I am not sure about the pneumonia vaccine. I checked the CDC website and found that once a person has 2 live vaccines of MMR they should carry that immunity for life. Even
  4. I will not get a flu vaccine. I have been thinking about the shingles and pneumonia vaccinations for both of us even if we are not old enough for our insurance to pay for them. I have friends in their 30's to late 40's who have had shingles at least once. One friend took almost 2 months to get well! Another friend keeps having outbreaks of them and she is in her 20s with 3 young children at home. That's scary.
  5. Some immunizations do NOT give you immunity for life. Frequently boosters are needed even as adults. My husband and I had the childhood vaccines for our age group and once each as an adult for the MMR, but I need to ask our doctor if our immunity needs a booster again. This is coming from someone who hates ANY type of vaccination but I do agree that a few might need to be necessary. By the way, having the vaccination does not guarantee that you will not catch the measles, it just makes it more unlikely.
  6. At this point I am thinking there is too much evidence to say their murder was accidental. I am betting his lawyer will try to go for an insanity defense in order to try and prevent a death sentence. Does anyone know if he has a history of mental illness?
  7. Sorry, but the National Weather Service says the high tomorrow will only reach 55 degrees with possible rain. We are supposed to hit 30 tonight.
  8. We went to a concert there last November. Yes, they will wand you and even check handbags as they checked my small cross body bag. Large handbags or back packs are not allowed at all. Just read their rules and regulations at the Phillips Arena web page. No firearms are allowed. I don't think the state allows firearms at large public gatherings either. Also, the only cameras allowed are phone cameras or point and shoot cameras. The DLS cameras (basically the ones with the fancy camera lenses) are not allowed. Check this web link for their rules and regulations. Look under "Fan Guide A-Z" th
  9. I am pretty sure on the news last night they said that the couple's SUV was found in a pond that is on land owned by the suspect's family and that the bodies were found within yards of the SUV. Also, the couple's last known call was to a phone owned by the suspect. I am sure more info will come out later, especially after autopsy results are released.
  10. Pubby, you should get in touch with AGipperGirl. She is a native of Dallas, Ga and she has been posting pictures and video all night from her home in Connecticut. She has forgotten her P.com password so she gave me permission to give you the link to her FB page. https://www.facebook.com/CzigansSettles?fref=ufi
  11. If earth has shifted on it's axis would that also cause the equator to shift? Does that mean that the southern U.S. is now closer to the equator?
  12. I wasn't getting snippy! NewsJunky asked for my opinion and I gave it. The last part about all of us having an opinion was stated JOKINGLY. If you didn't take it as such then that is your problem, not mine. The last paragraph was about being civilly married versus living together. The state of Georgia use to recognize living together for 2+ years as being common law married, which meant you could sign things for each other, make healthcare decisions for the other, etc. The state of Georgia quit recognizing common law marriage over 20 years ago, so now you need a civil marriage in order to
  13. Please don't confuse civil marriage with a religious ceremony. Those are two different things. You can get a marriage license and be civilly married without having a religious ceremony. Most people have both, but it's the marriage license that makes a civil marriage and that is what makes the marriage legally binding.
  14. My personal opinion is that churches should not be MADE to perform a ceremony if it violates religious beliefs. There are many out there who will perform a marriage ceremony without having to MAKE a church do so. However, this is just my personal opinion. We all have one you know? Because in a civil marriage you actually have a legally binding marriage license. You and your spouse can add each other and dependents to insurance policies. In a civil marriage you can file taxes as a married couple, if one of you needs the other to make healthcare decisions, etc. You cannot do these things in a
  15. Common law marriage is not the same as a civil marriage. You can be married in a civil ceremony and not involve any church at all, which would still allow each spouse and their dependents to be placed on the insurance coverage of the other. Georgia use to have common law marriage. It use to be if you lived together as a couple for a minimum of 2 years then you were considered married. I know because after spending 4.5 years living together and a lot of money on a wedding that didn't happen because my now ex-fiance' was cheating on me I almost pursued the idea of suing him and going after alimo
  16. Does anyone know anything about this? Has the person's name been released?
  17. The only time in my LIFE that I have ever taken any addictive types of pain medications are when I have had surgery, both dental and abdominal and I have never taken an illegal substance, so don't judge what you do not know. You can't feel anyone's pain to KNOW what they are going through. I pray that no one I know, whether friend or foe, has to ever live with the type of pain and insomnia that I do 24/7, all over my body for the REST OF MY LIFE! Yeah, most people would not be strong enough to handle that kind of physical suffering as they would find a way to end it by ending themselves. I don
  18. Ummm...sorry I am not buying the black mold theory. I haven't counted all of my symptoms but I am betting there are way over 20, maybe over 30, and most of them do not match up to black mold toxicity. While I do agree that some people with black mold toxicity may be MISDIAGNOSED with fibromyalgia or have it WITH fibromyalgia, I don't think it causes fibromyalgia, at least not in my case. By the way, as a I stated before THERE IS NO KNOWN CAUSE for fibromyalgia, there are only THEORIES for the cause and there are literally multitudes of them. Yes, there is a lot of research information out ther
  19. Here is a starting link to help. Scroll to the end for more links with info on fibro. http://www.rheumatology.org/Practice/Clinical/Patients/Diseases_And_Conditions/Fibromyalgia/
  20. Most fibromyalgia patients see a rheumatolgist, usually about every 6 months. They will run standard blood work to rule out other rheumatoid types of diseases first. Some patients prefer to see a neurologist. I don't think we have either type of doctor in Paulding, but I am not positive. I seen a doctor in Cobb for 12 years before we literally fired each other and began to see a doctor in Atlanta. It's a long drive but worth it if you can find a good doctor. It IS possible to have another disease with fibromyalgia. Please understand going into this that there is no known cure and that the most
  21. Blowing up a tannerite target is not going to be powerful enough to shake every house in an entire subdivision, or in the recent cases, the entire west metro Atlanta suburbs! Just about every west metro county and a few north of Atlanta and in northeast Georgia have been having these booms lately that are so hard they are shaking homes. There have also been recent reports of these booms happening in Florida, Connecticut, most of the eastern seaboard actually. Personally I think it has something to do with small earthquakes when they hit in areas around the Applachian Mountains.
  22. A report from the USGS (US Geological Survey) on the possibility of loud booms coming from small earthquakes. This may include small ones that do not register on machines. I know over this past weekend I felt something hit the outside wall of our house that happens to be up against my headboard and it shook the bed. I was quietly watching TV so the movement didn't come from me! Although I can't recall if it was precisely Sunday. There were small earthquakes reported in Connecticut recently. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/learn/topics/booms.php
  23. We are with Waste Industries and have been for a few years now for trash and recycling. We like them except for something that has recently happened. We've paid $40+ per quarter for a few years for both trash and recycling, yet my most recent bill from them is for $66 per quarter! I about had a fit when I opened it! I need to call them and find out what the heck is going on, but I have been afraid that I will lose it with the person I talk to. If they hold firm to that price then we will probably be in the market for a different service very soon. We are in New Hope with others in our subdivis
  24. Awww! I have always loved her as Ellie May. I started to dress as her for Halloween once. RIP dear Donna.
