  1. I am betting that the doctors in both hospitals where she has been a patient has told the family she is brain dead and will not recover, but her dad will not let her go. That would be reason enough to move her to a rehab facility for long term care. Cases like this have been carried to court when a family member will not take the patient off life support. I am guessing that is what will happen with her or that she will catch something like pneumonia and pass away.
  2. In my husband's case I would say "Yes." He travels for work about 26 days per month. If he were selected for Jury he would lose a ton of overtime hours and travel per diem from work because being on the Jury wouldn't pay him enough to replace those. Therefore, he isn't registered to vote. His political opinions do however match mine.
  3. Ha! Funny that you should post this, because we need one too. Most people do not realize that yes a land line will work if your power is out, but not if you are using a CORDLESS phone! As a result I try to keep at least one corded regular phone around the house.
  4. Even IF (this is a BIG IF) the baby had the vocabulary skills to say "Help me!" I seriously doubt she could have as she was severely hypothermic and probably dehydrated (she was admitted to ICU at first, then improved), so she would have been too weak to have made the exclamation even if she has the vocabulary skills. Also, the rescuers who heard the voice said it sounded like an adult female, which is why they were shocked to have found the mother deceased. The mother's parents verified what time she left their house the night before and stated she was headed home, which was 14 hours before s
  5. Wow! There is a theory that water or quartz rock can make it easier to communicate between our world and the spirit world. Supposedly when she left her parents house it was over 14 hours later before they were found. I am betting that the mother passed away within the first hour if not immediately. Thankfully the mother remembered to belt the baby in, which is what held her above water. By the way, it is said that Nostradamaus used a highly polished copper bowl filled with water to see his visions.
  6. I thought that GE now makes Kenmore?
  7. Looking at the directions to the Kennesaw store it appears to be in the area of 41 and Barrett Parkway. Across from CarMax on Barrett Parkway. Kennesaw Bargain Hunt: 1200 Ernest Barrett Pkwy, Suite 220 Kennesaw, GA 30144 (located next to Floor & Décor) Telephone: 770-419-6115 Hours: Monday - Saturday 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM; Sunday 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  8. I signed. I think this is the second time I have signed a petition saying this exact same thing. So there may be 2 of them floating around. I am going to be really upset and possibly a little depressed if this doesn't pass in Georgia for more medical diagnosis' than seizures.
  9. Austin Plantation, Waste Industries stated that is their new normal price with the recycling included due to the fact that they no longer get money back from the actual recycled waste from the location where they take it to. So yes, the $16.50/quarter was an increase in just the recycling! I had them take the recycling off and we are just paying the $48/quarter for trash. It's too late for me to change to a different service this quarter, but we may later because it is making me sick thinking that half of what will be in our regular trash could actually be recycled.
  10. I am so happy that this bill has passed and hopefully the governor will sign it! I am thrilled that fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's was included as I have a cousin with MS and my grandfather passed away 15 years ago with Parkinson's. I watched what that disease did to my grandfather (who was a WWII vet) and it is a horrible way to die. By the way, for those who haven't read the ACTUAL BILL, it is for the CBD oil with a THC amount of 5% or less, which is just BARELY STRONGER THAN HEMP OIL! I can go to any beauty aisle to buy HEMPZ body lotion that has hemp oil in it anywher
  11. That's exactly what most people do who work in the commercial chicken houses! My grandparents had my mom and her 3 brothers work in their commercial chicken house. Also, my brother and I helped friends work in their parent's chicken houses simply so they could be done faster and come play with us. Afterwards everyone washed with soap and water plus alcohol.
  12. I believe the littering fine in Paulding County is $500 per episode. It's probably pretty hard to enforce. Let's try to video those that we see throwing items out, especially if that vehicle does so on a regular basis. Video and tag numbers are pretty hard to dispute as evidence.
  13. I don't care what the opinion is about freshness as that stuff would be washed with a little spray of bleach water and rinsed well before going into my REFRIGERATOR with OTHER FOODS! Yes, I grew up around my grandparents farm and yes, my grandmother had her own coop of hens that we ate fresh eggs from. However, she still washed them before they ever went into her fridge. Yuck! Ecoli anyone?
  14. I hate to tell you but not all native Paulding people do this or were taught to do this. Please don't lump me in with the group of litterers! I can still vividly remember the commercials when I was a child, one of a crying native American looking at piles of trash and another of Woody (Woodsy?) the Owl saying "Give a hoot, don't pollute!" LOL My brother and I were taught as little kids not to litter. I don't know if he continues this type of ethic as an adult, but I always have! Even as a young adult when I smoked, I would dump my ashes and butts into a TRASH CAN when I went to clean out my ca
  15. I am trying to figure out how she could possibly "wake up" unless the doctors take her out of her medically induced coma? She won't wake up if they don't at least TRY to do that. They can try to take her out of the coma, while keeping her on the ventilator, to see if she has any signs of waking, movement or cognition, but they won't see anything like that until they TRY to do it. This doesn't make sense to me.
  16. I doubt it was planned because it was known that we would have winds, so no permission would have been granted. A burn off this size would need permission in order to be started. If someone set it without the proper go ahead then they will probably be fined.
  17. Has it been put out yet? I just woke up. The last I heard at 2:15am it was still only 30% contained.
  18. From what I have read this is Signal Mountain (which is probably at the Polk line), not Braswell Mountain. However, it is right next to Braswell Mountain. I was just informed that the fire is still only 30% contained, so it is still burning.
  19. The National Weather Service has changed the forecast this morning. Now they are saying Monday morning through Wednesday night rain or snow off and on with temps in the 20's a couple of those nights. It may get messy! Forecast for Dallas, GA http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?map.x=108&map.y=92&site=ffc&zmx=1&zmy=1#.VN4aDy5NpfZ
  20. How large is the film studio? If seating were added then how many people could it safely hold? If the citizens of Paulding are paying for it and are going to have to foot the bill, then maybe we could turn it into a civic center. We could have concerts and other sorts of things for entertainment purposes like the Cobb Civic Center, which will help to pay for it's bonds. Local groups could use it for meetings. Graduation ceremony site anyone? How about arts and crafts shows or gun shows?
  21. The building the Paulding County Water department just moved out of (near the film studio) is becoming the new Georgia State Patrol office.
  22. I was very disappointed in The Walking Dead Sunday night. As far as zombie orgies go, I am sure if their arms and legs are falling off then their penises long ago fell off. Also, zombies aren't alive so they don't have any blood flow. I don't think Viagra will help zombies with these issues!
  23. They have resumed the state e-filings as of today, Friday. We've used Turbo Tax for years and I really like it. I am trying to remember, but I think I set us up with a sign in name and a PIN number that Turbo Tax associates with our SS# and date of birth. I don't think our taxes can be filed with Turbo Tax without that PIN. I will check this year and see if that has changed or if maybe I am remembering wrong.
  24. It sounds like their family parties put the local redneck ones to shame! Wow!
