  1. It's also an additional $3 charge if you pay at the water department's website. I guess to avoid the $3 charge you have to pay online from your own bank, mail the payment or actually go to the water department? That's ridiculous to be charged $3 on the phone when it is done without even speaking to an employee.
  2. Well thank you hun! That was sweet but it was a long time ago that I was sick. I have the feeling we are now finding out, through a rise in this illness, that the adult booster for pertussis wears off after a certain time, just as it does with the kids booster. I bet that very soon the vaccination guidelines for adults regarding pertussis will change to needing a booster every 8-10 years.
  3. We suspect I may have contracted whooping cough (pertussis) at the end of 2003. I was sick for 2.5 MONTHS with a cough so bad that I was about to pass out and peed on myself every time it decided to have a fit, which was every few minutes. After several rounds of antibiotics for "bronchitis" that never seemed to work, a cracked rib, and a 2.5 months time span, I finally started healing a bit but I have had asthma attacks ever since. I've had episodes with bronchitis since I was less than 5 and several as an adult, this definitely wasn't bronchitis. Sometime afterwards I accidentally came acro
  4. The same goes for me. I was so HAPPY to see this new technology with Bank of America. I am sure my husband and my in-laws are happy about it too as they got tired of me forgetting to deposit something!
  5. If you watch the movie miniseries "The North and The South" during times of ceasefire the North traded some of their coffee for some of the South's tobacco. I thought that part of the movie was funny. They were each yelling across the river to the other and floated their packages across!
  6. In what part of the store? I may need to look at some for myself.
  7. I like to watch those and shop QVC during their Christmas in July shows. Their Christmas items will be marked down on clearance.
  8. The report on WSB-TV said they now have cameras installed in the area of the tanks. Also, the store owner believes this had to be done by someone who has had professional experience with these types of tanks. I was STUNNED at the sheer volume taken, much less being so sneaky about it!
  9. My stepmother uses small red potatoes, mayo, onions, eggs, BACON and I don't know what else, but it is always eaten up right away. No leftovers of it EVER!
  10. I was just reading the 24 page search warrant. In it there is a paragraph that states during questioning he admitted to doing a search on his computer regarding how much time before a child would die in a hot vehicle because he didn't want that to happen. This sounds like he admittingly left the child in the car for some unknown reason and was hoping he could get him out of the heated car in enough time before it killed him. So, what happened to taking him to day care? Was the child routinely taken to child care at all? It also says that he was going to meet with some friends when he left work
  11. I heard on the 6pm news that yes she was pregnant. Charges of feticide may be filed depending on how far along in the pregnancy she was before death. Her adult daughter and a young person were in the car with her. I am betting that this guy was drunk, high, or both. Yes, some women can get pregnant in their 50s. My doctor once told me that the 2nd highest amount of accidental pregnancies occurs just before a woman goes into menopause, simply due to irregular hormones. My ex mother in law gave birth to her last child while in her 50s.
  12. Glassdogs, will you please PM me the name of the doctor that performed your eye exam? It might be helpful for future reference. I am very picky about frames, so I may also check out the LensCrafters location after looking at Marietta Eye's selection. Thank you for pointing out that there is one at the Avenue as I have never noticed.
  13. I second Marietta Eye Clinic. They have clinics all around the west metro Atlanta area with their main clinic near Kennestone Hospital. I have seen Dr. Thurshwell with their group for about 14 years. He is really good, knows his stuff and he is a 2nd generation eye doctor in his family. He examines me for both contacts and my bifocal glasses. They do take some vision insurance, so check with them regarding which one they will accept. Marietta Eye Clinic -main office near Kennestone Hospital 770-427-8111 Good luck!
  14. Most cats CANNOT climb down backwards due to physically being unable. It has to do with the shape of the cats claws. The hook shape of a claw attached to a short toe allows them to easily climb up, especially with a fight or flight response fueled by adrenaline. However, the shape of the hook combined with a short toe does not allow them to climb down as easy, if at all. Some of them that have longer toes, that extend the claw further out, eventually develop the ability to climb down, but most do not. Longer legged kitties also have a better chance at being able to climb down due to being able
  15. Finally! I am glad to see that a few places are now fighting back against the insane mass shooters. I thought we were going to receive the possibility of this with the recent changes in Georgia law, but I guess it was tossed out. I feel like if you pass the proper background checks in order to have an active carry license, pass appropriate firearm classes AND are approved by the school board to do so, then you should be able to protect school children with your firearm ability.
  16. The link you gave shows the phone number and hours they are open. That should help. "Contact Health Department 451 Jimmy Campbell Pkwy. Dallas, GA 30132 Ph: (770) 443-7881 Fx: (770) 443-7885 Hours Monday - Wednesday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Thursday 7:30 am - 6:30 pm Friday 7:30 am - 1:30 pm"
  17. I don't know about today but years ago (about 20 years ago!) when I lived on my own with low income or no insurance, I would have my annuals done there. Back then the amount you would need to pay was based upon a scale. How much income you had coming in per year would determine what percentage you would get off of the services that you needed. I would call them, ask for the billing dept. and then they may be able to give her some kind of guesstimation of what she may be charged, if anything would be charged at all.
  18. Rockster, how do we get in touch with someone from the organization to meet us for a donation drop off? Is there a list of what they accept for donations?
  19. That is hilarious! This whole song is so true for a woman who is single in her 20s and 30s. I loved the window is smaller opening part! LOL
  20. It has moved to the shopping center where Badcock Furniture Store is. Right at the corner of East Paulding Drive and Dallas Hwy/120. If you are going towards Marietta and get to Lost Mountain Publix, then you have gone too far. If you are going toward Hiram and go past the Dallas Walmart, then you have gone too far.
  21. We are members of Governor's Gun Club. I not positive, but I do believe I was told quite a while back that they do not carry Glock firearms.
  22. I've temped several times in my life when I was between jobs, while looking for another job. They were all office jobs for me though. When I worked for a temp agency I was told and frequently did, call every day first thing in the morning. Once the service realized I was dependable then they would start calling me. I wish you the best of luck!
  23. At first I thought maybe the economy or something in their lives had caused a depression to set in. However, she was some kind of assistant director of research at Kennesaw State University, so I doubt this has anything to do with the economy if one of them had full time employment. Also, I read in another article that they had been out to eat before hand and that he left the restaurant on foot. She then chased him down with the car while firing at him. If this is true, then it sounds like a rage killing to me.
