  1. I think a lot of people in this thread are forgetting that in Georgia you cannot receive a concealed carry permit if you have been a patient in a mental hospital within the past 5 years.
  2. I took a peek. They are both on the nest rebuilding it right now.
  3. I have 2 large Dyson vacuums and one of their stick vacuums. I just want a good steam mop that has a vacuum built in for the places I have linoleum. It's ok if the built in vacuum is mainly for crumbs on the kitchen floor because I am not using it for carpet. Does Shark make a combo like that?
  4. No I don't have one, but now you have me interested in one. What model name would be a Shark steam mop with the vacuum on it? Are they even made?
  5. He had more going on than depression. Didn't he have a recent diagnosis of Parkinson's and possible dementia? My grandfather died with both within a few years of the first symptoms. It is very painful both physically and emotionally. When it gets to the point that you can't take care of yourself in ANY possible way, eating, going to the bathroom, etc. it becomes very humiliating. Imagine that happening to a man who received a Purple Heart for his service in WWII. That is what happened to my grandfather James White. Robin probably knew what the diagnosis meant and didn't want to live in those c
  6. I have to go to a doctor appointment in a building near Piedmont Hospital Wednesday. Do you think it will be close enough to any possible rioting that might break out?
  7. Our four cats know their names and their nicknames. They know when I say "NO!" that I mean it or they will get sprayed with the water bottle. They know what beddy bye time means. We even have one who fetches kitty balls. He will BEG and literally cry for us to throw his balls for him down the stairs. He takes off like a bat out of hell running down the stairs for them. Brings them one at a time back and waits for his petting, scratching and loving words, then we have to do it all again! Another cat, my largest at 18 pounds (all the others are 7-8.5 pounds), he acts like a dog following me
  8. We got one of those last week too. It had the full name and phone number of our home phone come up on the caller ID, but they were calling our home phone. The kicker is that number is both private AND unlisted!
  9. If someone in Maine gets it and can prove they haven't left the state, let alone the country, then maybe they can sue her. I can't remember if the test is for the virus load in the blood or the antibodies in the blood. I am betting it is the viral load. My point is that the test will only be positive once that amount can be detected in the blood, which can happen at ANY point during those 21 days. It has to multiply enough in the blood for a positive detection and that detection MIGHT be able to be made within just a couple of days before symptoms start. There isn't enough evidence to say posi
  10. Brasstown Bald (tallest mountain in Ga?) had a light dusting and still falling by the time the 11pm news came on. They are expecting 1-2 inches. We MIGHT have a few flurries in with the light rain showers here in the Paulding, Cobb or Bartow areas. Expect the low temps for our area to be between 28-30 degrees Saturday night.
  11. Most types of chlorine will kill Ebola. There is now a powdered type available that is being considered for shipping to Africa as it is easier to transport than a liquid chlorine. It can be dissolved in water then used to decontaminate areas and suits. Personally my husband went to Sam's to get our usual box of 3 gallons of Chlorox bleach about a month ago. I had just told him that like HIV, herpes, etc that bleach will kill Ebola on surfaces. He returned with 6 gallons! The irony is that I am the one worried about Ebola since he travels so much nationally by plane. He is actually less worried
  12. I do too! I also have a gray one and twin white ones.
  13. It didn't take much looking to find out the photos above in the gold and black dresses are 10 or more years apart. Also, she has lost 30 pounds since when she acted in "Bridget Jones' Diary". Along with the weight loss that slimmed her face, she probably had eye work done. My eyes and face don't look the same that they did 10 years ago either, much less 20 years ago.
  14. As reported by WSB-TV. "Previous policy for West African travelers required checking for symptoms and isolating any symptomatic passengers. In accordance with Deal's plan, travelers who show no symptoms will be placed in one of three categories for further monitoring. Category 1, high risk – Travelers with known direct exposure to an Ebola patient. Travelers in this category will be subject to quarantine at a designated facility. Category 2, low risk – Travelers from affected area with no known exposure to an Ebola patient. Travelers in this category will sign a monitoring agreement w
  15. Britain stopped flights to the infected areas of West Africa a month or so ago.
  16. She made it! She lives to wash another day! At least for a while more.
  17. My prayers have been sent out for this baby's quick healing and comfort. I am sorry your family is having to go through this.
  18. Chester, you jinxed me! I have a 20 year old Kenmore top loader that I have loved. I could barely make the payments for her and her matching dryer when I first moved out on my own, but they were a top of the line Kenmore pair at the time and have been worth every penny. They have moved with me many times through the years and continued to be reliable. I do believe I have only had to call a repairman 2 times in all these years and it was something simple. One time it was just a switch on the washer. After I read your post the other day, later on in the evening my husband told me my washer ha
  19. I think she may have lost a LOT of weight. If you look at the cheek to chin area, in the gold dress photo that area is more rounded and in the black dress it looks more sunken and angular. Also, her breasts in the black dress photo are about 1/2 the size they were in the gold dress photo.
  20. The bolded statement is NOT true. In fact the Ebola virus is very frequently compared to the HIV virus because it can be found in ALL body fluids and can be transmitted in the same manner. In a person who has recovered from Ebola the live virus can still be found in semen for up to THREE MONTHS after recovery. Here is a link to a CDC page explaining how Ebola can be transmitted which includes sexual transmission (oral sex included). http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/transmission/index.html
  21. I keep a pellet rifle by the back door just for this reason. Also, I really don't want to have to shoot towards a neighbors house with a real gun. That's too much of a risk to take.
  22. What is up with his white finger tips? It almost looks like a french manicure.
  23. Water fasting will probably lower the immune system's response to the virus and your immune system is what will save you. Most likely the only thing that will kill the ebola virus is bleach. In the clinics in Africa the workers are using a bleach water solution to spray down their protective gear before removing it from themselves.
  24. ANYONE coming to the U.S. from an infected country should be quarantined at home for 21 days. Even those who are new Americans immigrating here from an infected country should be quarantined. Especially those who work or go to school with the public. After the 21 day period they should be safe for work or school. Some of the people who were on the flight with the nurse are quarantining themselves for the 21 day period. Some are doing so at the request of the CDC. Some of them are receiving pay during their quarantine and some are not.
