  1. The only day that Pepsico dropped out of concert with the market during the period discussed was December 4, the day they paid a dividend. That always happens. Just how does this relate to Tiger Woods? Edited to add: I don't doubt that a few investors used this episode to perhaps cut back there instead of another equity at the end of the year, but really, event analysis is hardly an exact science, particularly at year end in an unstable market.
  2. Further proof that statistics are nothing more than opinions expressed as numbers. Gee, I wonder why their study isn't published "yet"?
  3. Your friend's house was rewired because if a significant remodeling or repair is done to the structure, like repairing a burn out, the entire structure must be brought up to current code. You're wiring sounds like it is typical for a house built in the late 50's or early 60's. It should definitely be replaced, but at your own expense. This is a maintenance item just like repairing a porch or fixing a plumbing leak.
  4. The only vehicle I ever bought back from the insurance company was a 1972 240-z. That one just couldn't go to the crusher. It cost me about $1000 more to fix than it was worth, but maybe I gained some automotive karma points in the process. It was worth it to drive it another 5 years and then pass it on to another car person. Joe, I have USAA also, and I believe that they will be more than fair with you. Good luck with your search.
  5. A 2007 Ford Escape XLS 2wd with 35k miles in metro Atlanta has a Kelly Blue Book Value of between $11,500 and $14,100. If you like it, look for one on another lot or in the auto trader unless the CarMax warranty is worth the extra money to you. The CarMax ad also says that this was a "fleet" vehicle, which is usually code for rental car.
  6. I hope that's not true,I wish him the best. Are we sure that the Notre Dame job is still taken? I mean for real taken.
  7. I am not judging him, he has called himself an addict, and a drink to an addict is like poison. All I am saying is that it is a one way street south after an addict decides that they can handle a little break with reality in the form of drink or drug now and then. Now and then quickly becomes every day. I hope that this arrest will rattle his cage enough for him to seek help again. I am hoping for his continued recovery.
  8. After his problems with drugs and alcohol, his should have been .00. He is obviously off the wagon. Not a good sign for a recovering addict.
  9. The father has said that he will allow his wife's Brazilian family to visit his son in the US. That is a strong gesture considering the fight that they put up when they knew that US, Brazilian, and international law (Hague Treaty) are quite clear in the requirement to turn the boy over to his father. It shouldn't have gone this far, but the family and a minor socialist fringe political party had the Brazilian press on their side. Their parading of such a frightened young boy through the crowded streets to turn him over to the US Consul today was a disgusting display.
  10. I am making the assumption that you moved here from someplace far enough north to not have year round termites. Some jurisdictions have outlawed ICF construction because of termite problems (they may eat the foam within 3 to 5 years in many parts of Georgia, including metro Atlanta, even borate treated products like Perform Guard). This is the same reason that EIFS must be cut back from the grade and sealed at the bottom. Even if Paulding allows this type of construction, I strongly urge you to reconsider. The ground does not get cold enough here to be a problem, and needlessly introduc
  11. Coming from Nebo, they are just south of the swamp on the left side in a concrete block building back up off of the road. Orange sign in the lot that is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.
  12. I have relatives that choose to work at the hospital any holiday available for the overtime. They believe that they are responsible for the care of their own, as well as others that may need help on holidays, and Christmas shifts are easy to get. They simply do the present giving and overeating after December 25. They can be thankful for Jesus' birth from work and at church.
  13. I would not recommend this for a 72 year old novice Computer user: How to manually remove Rootkit.Win32.Agent.pp You have to remove the master file, delete the processes, remove the registry keys, and remove the dll files it all creates. And don't forget to reset your homepage in your browser back to something innocuous like Google.com. All of this has to be done exactly right, or you could completely stop Windows from running at all.

  15. I smell a big law suit. maybe Cobb won't defend their developer buddies like Paulding did. If I were those homeowners i would be hiring a civil engineer and a property lawyer faster than you can say mudslide.
  16. You put a can of Vienna sausages on the smoker with the Christmas ham. Yup I just did it. I had to smoke something I could eat before Thursday night. It just smelled too good.
  17. A Larry from Hiram Christmas Twas the night before Christmas and all through the trailer, my cousins was snoring like six drunken sailors. The children was nestled all snug in their beds, with the Home Shopping Network stuck in their heads. The ashtrays were full and the beer bottles strewn, looked like nobody would stir at least until noon. So I surmised that with a little good luck, the missus and I could sneak in a good....nap. So I in my wifebeater and she in her teddy, broke out the handcuffs and got the whips ready. I'd just put fresh batteries in all the adult toys,
  18. Anything can happen. Somebody leased a car using my 5 year old nephew's ss # and never made a payment. It took 6 months to get that straightened out.
