That reminds me of Herschel Walker. He was a good kid and a hard worker in school, but he sounded like a dumb ol' hick when somebody shoved a microphone in his face. I'm not against walk signals when the lights are replaced in areas where sidewalks are either present or scheduled to be added, or where there is a reasonable expectation of common pedestrian traffic. I am against replacing lights and adding walk signals when the whole thing is going to be torn down in two years or less. That's ridiculous. "That's the way it's done" is not an excuse. BTW, I am all for the ADA, it's my livelihood. I'm also not against common sense.

OK, explain this one to me. They are putting new traffic lights with walk signals all down Hwy 92 south of 278. There are no sidewalks, and there is no pedestrian traffic. Not only that, the entire stretch of highway south of Hiram is scheduled for complete widening within the next couple of years. So the state is spending hundreds of thousands of your dollars on something we don't need and that will be demolished before the bulbs need to be replaced. Your tax dollars at work waste.

I very much agree with GEAGirl <gasp>. There is a huge difference between pollution and AGW. First and foremost, the science is sound on pollution. You dump enough chicken poop in one place, particularly near a water source, and you poison the environment. Same with tailing ponds. Same with sulphur dioxide. Same with phosphates. In 2005 in Texas not one gun related felony was committed by a registered gun owner. I see no problem allowing a fully vetted and registered owner to carry a concealed weapon anywhere with the exception of a courthouse, jail, or anyplace that alcohol is served.
