  1. AFP does very good work on the national level informing people of how their government spends their money and how we could all benefit from a tax code that relates to the rightful expenses of constitutional government instead of the politics of the party in charge. But one has to ask why they are involved in this small county board meeting the day of a critical election. The answer is that they aren't, Virginia Galloway is. It is obvious to even a casual observer that Ms. Galloway is misusing the good name of a national organization for highly partisan and purely personal political purposes
  2. BS. It's a damn increase in the rate that will go straight into the general fund. Austin is full of crap if he wants us to believe that the increase is just to cover unforeseen emergencies. I was born at night, but not last night. They just got a renewal of the SPLOST to cover capital improvements. They can wait and come to the voters when they run out of money and tell us exactly what they must cut. SHOW ME THE BUDGET THAT JUSTIFIES THE INCREASE.
  3. Dang. Maybe they need to turn it into a parking lot.
  4. Remember "The Judge"? No modification needed, especially useless skateboard wheels.
  5. We used to run into this all the time in downtown Atlanta, and it is moving into the burbs. A guy at our office back in the 80's printed up a bunch of business cards with the names, addresses, and phone numbers of all of the big shelters, aid agencies, and homeless programs in Atlanta. We would hand them out with a quarter when we were accosted and tell the folks to contact the agencies for help. They always took the quarter and threw the card on the ground. To this day I will not give money to an individual that I don't know, because 9 times out of 10, it's a scam. I only give through
  6. It's a ploy to squeeze the unions and the government for every last dime possible, but like a good poker player, they probably have the hand to back it up. The real shock will come when companies like Harley and Ford move overseas to avoid draconian taxes and euro style labour and compliance costs.
  7. A full service FBO with fuel, fully equipped pilot's lounge, fast access to rental cars, and the ability to do at least routine repairs on piston aircraft is a first priority. Otherwise you might as well be landing on the moon.
  8. Try to locate 91.188.60.234 This is the IP address for both exploits, one attempting to load the file "f15.zip" I get the warning with adblock deactivated on firefox, but do not with adblock activated. This indicates that it may be passed to your site through a third party advertising server. The list of adblock plus blocked servers can be found HERE. Maybe you can search your ad servers against the list to narrow down the source.
  9. ...and having to talk to a darn machine in the first place!!!! I just keep shouting REPRESENTATIVE and punching zero. We could solve the unemployment problem if we would just hire back all the customer service people.
  10. So the incentive is to go down to the office and waste an employee's time doing what we used to be able to do ourselves at very little cost to the County. The same thing I told the bank when they first came up with internet banking and wanted to charge for it. I asked them why they were charging me to do their data entry job? They had no answer, and soon saw the light that bandwith is cheaper than salaries.
  11. A solar storm, or "Coronal mass ejection" is headed for Earth, and should strike some time in the early morning hours. It is not expected to do any damage, but should provide quite a light show. A similar storm did kill the galaxy 15 satellite a few years back, and there is a small potential for communications disruption as well as power outages.
  12. WB, if it makes you feel any better, the air is in the potato chip bag to keep them from getting crushed in transit. I hate it when Restaurants put the salt in the pepper shaker and the pepper in the salt shaker. The salt comes out like Niagara Falls and you do good to get one lousy grain of pepper.
  13. They tried to add my garage/shop to my property twice, because I pulled a permit to change an existing 750 sq ft. out building into a 2 story shop/garage. They didn't deduct the value of the old structure prior to adding the full value of the new structure. We finally got it right. The moral of the story is that every time the assessor visits your property, you should make sure that the information on your property description is correct and that their math isn't the "new" kind. It can take them up to several months to get the information updated after the visit.
  14. Ceiling "T's" are as sharp as knives. They are made of very thin metal. He could have called an associate over to help him or could have used gloves. It is not a store's responsibility to follow their customers around and make sure they don't do anything stupid. Had the "T" been defective, then he might have a case, but anyone who has installed a suspended ceiling knows that you wear gloves or bleed.
  15. I remember Mitch well. His show was on in our household, even if we didn't "sing along" all the time. "All smiles," Mitch.
  16. WOW! are some of you running the air with the windows open? You guys had me scared, but I got mine yesterday and it was $242. I never thought I would be happy to see a $242 power bill but under the circumstances, I feel blessed.
  17. Feelip, I wouldn't worry about that. All of Sonny's appointments will be tendering their resignation to the new Governor. That is one of Sonny's problems, that he sometimes appointed on politics and friendship, and not performance, but they all give little "gifts" to special people. Roy just micromanaged everything for his department heads so it really didn't matter who they were. He kept more sh(t stirred up than a salon full of debutantes. It was the Roy Barnes Show all the way, law and process be damned. He'd jerk his knee and leave everybody else to clean up after him. There was more ti
  18. Acording to Janes, Hamas is a 20,000 person force equipped with Qassam, Al-Quds (MRL), Al-Nassar 4, Jenin, Arafat, Aqsa 3, Kafah, Katyusha, WS-1E, and Grad rockets, various 52mm to 240mm mortars, anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs),anti-aircraft guns, M-240 Storm bombs, and BRDM-2 armored personnel carriers. They have a range of about 28 miles into Israel, and are capable of hitting Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheba, Gedera, Kiryat, etivot, Sdero, Ofakim, Yavne, Karmia, Netiv HaAsara, Yad Mordechai, Zikim, Nir Oz, Nirim, Yesha, Kfar Aza, Nir Am Sa'ad, Ganei Tal, Morag, Beer Sheba, and Neve Dekalim, a
  19. I came through there about 6:15, and they were back on.
  20. The power went out all over Hiram for about an hour from about 4:20 until about 5:20. It's back on here at home and in downtown Hiram, so it should be back on at the theater also.
  21. Are the same peace loving unfortunates that are at the mercy of the Zionist dogs of Israel? The ones that the world must rush humanitarian aid to lest they starve from a lack of shoulder fired RPG's and medium range scuds?
  22. If you're petty enough to report somebody for this, the IRS would probably audit you.
