  1. NJ, your support of Paulette is just fine, but calling all of Will's supporters neither conservative or Republican is flat wrong. I have no ulterior motive for my support of Will, and I hardly stand with PUBBY on the left. The only agenda that concerns me in this race is the agenda of the citizens of the 19th district.
  2. Thanks for clearing that up Will. Folks may not agree with every nuance of your positions, but here they are in black and white: Secure the borders first, against the mandates in Obamacare but for sensible health reform measures, for smaller more efficient government, for education reform but not just throwing more money at the problem, committed to the future of Paulding County. That's what some of us have been saying. Will has ideas and energy not soundbites. He doesn't just rattle off the latest drivel from the party elite, and make desperate attempts to link the other party to ever
  3. I believe that Deal's spokesman Brian Robinson said that Deal filed an automatic extension for last year. If so, that gives him until October 15, 2010 to file last year's taxes. Robinson said that Deal will release the forms when they are complete, but he didn't offer any idea when that would be or how many years would be released.
  4. The author of what story? Politifact Georgia is a wholly owned operation of the editorial department of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Are you calling that a bastion of right wing radical conservatism? Did Roy lie about the flag? Did he lie to the teachers? Is he lying now when he promises all the teachers raises out of the gold he scrapes off of the gold dome? Is he lying when he says he can solve all of our problems by rooting out a little waste? Give me a freaking break. When it comes to getting elected, he's a lying sack of excrement just like all of them. They will all say
  5. Roy Barnes Campaign Spoksman-Pants on Fire Not that it's really a big deal. Like I said it's just relatively meaningless political BS. The Recovery Services fiasco is worthy of "investigative" journalism. I just can't cast my lot with Roy. He doesn't own this state, but he shows no sign that he has changed his autocratic, micromanaging, often nonsensical ways. I just really can't stomach it. I will absolutely agree that Karen Handel was a much better choice. Right now I am voting for the lesser of two evils, admittedly by a narrow margin.
  6. Awaiting the lightning strike...... I wouldn't stand anywhere near any "anonymous law enforcement officials" for a while.
  7. And Roy didn't lie when he said that he wasn't invited to any Obama functions while he was in Atlanta? If you want to go after a lie, find out what Deal did with the whole Recovery Services scandal. That's a potential big fat lie that means something. This is just political gamesmanship and BS Gotcha journalism.
  8. Whitey, et.al....If you would be so kind as to point me to the legislation enacted by the Republican Party of Georgia that led to the global recession, I would certainly like to see it. I believe that the economists around the world would be equally interested.
  9. Really people? This is the best you can do to attack Deal? I find it High-larious that when Obama was attacked in the PF for his frequent forays with an entourage, it was a purely necessary expense. Now at the state level, with a Republican, the same premise on a much smaller scale is a total waste of taxpayer dollars. Had Roy Barnes accepted the offer, I would bet anybody here that Lori Geary wouldn't have "confronted" Nathan Deal at his Buckhead Campaign Office. Anybody willing to take that bet? Some people don't even know when they are being played.
  10. NJ, you know that I respect your opinions. I am absolutely sure that you came to your conclusion after careful consideration, because that's the kind of a person you are. You are informed and active in your decision making. I also know that we differ on how Will Avery may react under the pressure to conform. I personally believe him when he says he will vote as he hears his constituents want him to, and that above all he will vote as a fiscal conservative. Will and I have discussed that very thing, and I believe that his strength of character will make it possible for him to resist the awe
  11. I can assure you and everybody reading this that this is absolutely not the way Will Avery is running his campaign. He is running a campaign on the issues, not inuendo, and welcomes questions and comments on the issues from all sides. Animal is not doing Mr. Avery any favors here or in other threads where he bashes the Republican opponent, and is acting on his own for whatever reason. That reason is beyond me, unless it is his intention to be the wolf in sheep's clothing. I have decided to back Will because I believe him to be the best individual for the job. It took a lot for me to come
  12. It's my understanding that Lowes agreed to finish the grading and underground infrastructure, so that should help attract a new buyer to that piece of property. Hopefully it won't become just another PVC farm situation. That's a great corner for retail or professional offices.
  13. And to think....the Sherin BOC was, at Wellstar's request, going to give Wellstar $9 million of our money to build a hospital in more affluent and better served NE Paulding until Ms. Rollins got wind of it and blew the whistle. Conveniently, this was when district 3 was without a Commissioner to represent the interests of southeast Paulding, and it would have provided work for well connected political cronies. This has been a long time coming, and I am glad that the Wellstar Board and the current County commission have seen fit to do the right thing and locate this facility where it will
  14. The second paragraph wasn't aimed at you feelip. Sorry I wasn't clear. It's my opinion that Party Bashing and mud slinging like the OP does not make friends and influence people for the other side, in this case I assumed it was Animal's guy, Will Avery. But you know what? You are right about the op also. Animal didn't mention local politics specifically, so if this thread isn't about local politics, then why isn't it in the political forum? Never mind, I know the answer.
  15. I sold my old '93 F-150 with a 351c to a friend of mine a couple of years back. It had about 180k on the odo at the time. It just broke a valve spring at 220k, and when they pulled the heads off, the mechanic said that it looked like a new engine. They rebuilt the heads and never opened the block. He said it should be good for another 200k. That's what a good quality synthetic oil (I use Valvoline SynPower) and a Purolator PureONE oil filter changed every 5K miles will do for you. As to air pressure, in a pickup it should be adjusted to the load. If you run empty all the time, your
  16. People forget that Clinton used the term "family values" 7 times in his acceptance speech. Hypocrisy....It's not just for Republicans anymore. In fact, it never was. Animal obviously opened this thread to bash Republicans, knowing full well that if he mentioned the local race that Pubby would gladly allow it. It's just more negative politics. The shame of it is that Avery stands a better chance, a good chance, of winning by sticking to the issues than slinging mud, but some folks just know one way. This kind of cr@p is why so many good people shun running for office.
  17. If today's date is August 26, 2011 Then the answer is Justin Bieber.
  18. I'm still having trouble getting channel 5 and 2 to come in reliably. I've decided to add a second antenna. Mrs. LTD won't let me drop the cable until she can watch a full half hour without the picture dropping out. BTW anybody who tells you that cable is a "better" picture is full of it. Comcast's top resolution is 720p, and broadcast is 1080i. The antenna is not only free, it's true HD.
  19. I' switching to an antenna and a computer with Windows 7. I'll add a $9 subscription to Netflix, and watch everything else on HULU. I'm done paying $100 per month to watch TV.
  20. lotstodo

    Cable

A $200 antenna setup, a $500 computer with Windows 7 and a TV Tuner card, and a $9 subscription to Netflix. Comcast can kiss my overcharged arse. Adios Amigo. Pedal your overpriced packages elsewhere. $100 a month to watch TV is ridiculous.
  21. So lets say that the AG was still Ashcroft, Gonzales, or Mukasey instead of Holder, and Bush was still President....would this be racist then?
  22. OK, so who is Fantasia, and why do we give a crap again?
