Naval Academy Graduate Refused Conscientious Objector Status
lotstodo replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
it is indeed both political and religious. He violated the terms of his agreement with the government and is seeking preferential treatment based upon his religion in an effort to break that contract. He signed, he serves. Period. He just wants to go home to mommy, and if he did suddenly find his own personal Jesus, then that little voice should tell him to suck it up honor his commitments. He's not even serving in a war zone. This is not the situation that CO status was designed for, and that is for draftees. You may recall a certain boxer serving a few months in prison for a failur -
Naval Academy Graduate Refused Conscientious Objector Status
lotstodo replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It's pretty simple. He can serve his time in the service of his country like his contract with Uncle Sam says, or in Federal prison. I wonder if he would conscientiously object to that? PS: Why isn't this along with your other anti-government and anti religious rants in the political or religion forum? -
They listed assets of about $2.4 million against more than $21.9 million in liabilities. The number of stores went from 110 to 30 in about 4 years. To say that they were mismanaged is an understatement.

Is there anybody out there who didn't know West was an ass before this interview? It's just more proof.

A school could do a lot worse than Richt. The biggest knock I have on him is that he is better at recruiting a prison team than a collegiate one. He needs to better vet his players emotional and behavioral backgrounds as well as bring the hammer down on his team's rules violators. Unfortunately for him and his kids, the incentive is to let them play no matter what. If he loses to Georgia Tech this year, his fate is sealed.

GA Legislature to Cut $1BILLION from State Budget
lotstodo replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Through September, the state’s tax revenue was up 7.4 percent to $3.78 billion. The Governor ordered all state agencies (except education) to cut an additional 4% AFTER last years budget was passed and after the start of this fiscal year. Georgia's FY 2011 budget is $17.9B. Assuming that we have a reduction of somewhere between 2% and 4% due to agency cutbacks, that's a savings of $0.36B to $0.72B. If revenue growth continues on the path they are on now, There will be an additional $1.37B over FY2010. IF (fingers crossed) these trends stay the same for the next 9 months, then we won't have -
Far worse than being de-friended.

Even though you lost the race, congratulations are still in order. You're a class act and a refreshing change from the politics of smear tactics. It was a pleasure meeting you and discussing politics. There will be other races and other challenges that I am confident you will meet with the same style and energy. PS: don't leave P-com just because the race is over. We could use some fresh meat with a head on his shoulders in the political forum.

Delta Flight Attendants reject Union, again
lotstodo replied to Cathyhelms's topic in Paulding County NEWS
This will go a long way to allowing a large airline to compete on equal footing with the smaller competitors. From what I understand, the Union work rules are what the airlines most object to. There was little if any difference in pay and benefits between Delta and Northwest, in fact Delta's non-union flight attendants are paid more than NW's Union flight attendants. This will allow the new Delta flexibility in route and crew deployment decisions. -
Good Lord Pubby, are you so accustomed to the smell that you honestly don't believe it stinks any more?

So very sorry for your loss.

Had Will run as a Republican, he would have kicked butt. That is a real shame. But congrats to Paulette, and I hope she knows that many of us here in Paulding have been conditioned by her predecessors to follow the money and watch for "transgressions" in her office. Here's hoping she will be better than them.

SPLOST PASSES; GOP REBUFFS DISTRICT 19 CHALLENGE
lotstodo replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Just like there are no kudos for the first Black President. She will have to prove her abilities far beyond what she has shown so far, and I'm not too optimistic. Hopeful, but not optimistic. Watch the money. -
SPLOST PASSES; GOP REBUFFS DISTRICT 19 CHALLENGE
lotstodo replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
If you have a $200K home your property tax savings due to SPLOST will be a minimum $237 @ the existing mil of 2.963. The tax write off if you are in the 25% tax bracket will be $59.25. Now, stick with me here, If SPLOST failed the millage rate would be 3.588, meaning that you would be paying $287 in taxes, making the tax deduction a virtual wash at a 25% marginal tax rate or below. Now using the figures above, you would have to spend $22,775 in Paulding county on retail items other than food in order to pay the same in taxes, even considering the tax deduction. What this means is that m -
It's my understanding that Paulding county went from 28 precincts to 14. Lucy got some 'splainin to do. The elections board should be ashamed. People are leaving the lines and not voting.
-
Does anybody think that Paulding County will be done voting by tomorrow morning? What a disgrace going from 28 to 14 precincts. People are actually leaving the line and not voting. PC board of elections should be ashamed of themselves.

The Wachovia / Well Fargo Transition...just as I thought
lotstodo replied to subby1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We were with Georgia Federal that got bought out by First Union, that got bought out by Wachovia, that was now given to Wells Fargo by the Government. I have had it and just like you, I will be looking for somebody that actually will work for my business. I have several accounts with them, and not so much as a screw you from them when they cut off my business ATM card "by mistake". Computer error doesn't put gas in my truck. Buh By Wells. -
How were the crowds at your voting site?
lotstodo replied to The Sound Guy's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Good for you FB. It's a shame y'all are having such a wait. I saw on the news where folks in Roswell are threatening to call the Secretary of State over a 30 minute wait. They must be spoiled up there in Roswell. -
I think it's probably because of the recent terrorist attacks in India. Obama would be a rich target, and one that the Indian Government probably can't cover very well. I don't think the extra security is Obama's fault, they would do it for any President going to India in this day and time. What I question is why go? Why not invite them here or meet with them in South Korea? He is making a ten day whistlestop tour of southern Asia out of the G-20 meeting in Seoul.

I don't even want to think about it. The things some people will do to "win" an election are just mind numbing. The last thing I want is a repeat of the Florida fiasco where they can't even agree on what constitutes a vote. Hanging chads my arse.
-
From what I understand, we have actually dispatched, 30 bomb sniffing dogs, multiple bomb disposal units, and 40 military aircraft to the country as well as multiple Navy Ships to the coast of India on top of the usual security and entourage. I can believe that number.
-
I don't think we will know much before tomorrow, and some national races will probably be recounted. Heck, some local ones might be recounted. That's why everybody needs to get out there and vote.

Solo, you didn't deserve a word of this. Of course, the objects of his snarky personal remarks rarely do. They say a lot more about the author than the target.
