I've lost 4 family members to suicide, and only one left a note. All of them seemed to have different reasons on the outside, but it all boils down to pure desperation in every case. We only had an inkling about one of the four, and I always will wonder if I could have done more. If you haven't spoken to a family member or dear friend in a while, pick up the phone and let them know that you still care.

I know that I'm an old fart, but we never had bus service within 2 miles of a school. We did however, have cross walks and crossing guards at really busy crossings, and sidewalks or graded paths on thoroughfares that had a speed limit over 35 MPH. PC is in desperate need of sidewalks near schools. It is the parents responsibility to get the kids to school, but the county could look into improving the pedestrian access to them.

Northern Exposure. Great show. I think that Rob Morrow and Janine Turner got their noses out of joint over their contracts and killed it off. Also the last episode of Perry mason. "Now it seems the place to start is at the beginning."

That is a fine antenna choice or Channel Master 4228HD Both are old 1970's based UHF antennas that are the best for all Atlanta channels except channel 11. You may need a VHF antenna to get it reliably. (I did). I had to put it on a 20 ft. mast because I live in a valley. I also hooked a computer up to the tv with Windows Media Center running, and with a couple of tweeks, I can get HULU for the cable shows we watch right there on the screen with the over the air stuff. It all works seamlessly, and it's free. You can add a $9 subscription to Netflix if you are feeling rich.

Yup. They had their own issues down there. I really don't know if some of the same folks were actually involved, but that's the impression I got. I don't have all the poop either, but in both cases there sure is a lot of smoke, if you get my drift. While there certainly isn't any legal proof of any previous corruption here in PC, there is the unmistakable stench. BTW, we came within a gnats rump of moving down there about six years ago. I love the place.

Like I said, yet. I can tell you that I was taken aback by the reaction that I witnessed. When 4 of the 7 gentlemen at the table with you guffaw immediately in unison, and in a county as far away from Paulding as you can get, that certainly says something about the far ranging sullied REPUTATION that the PC P&Z and BOC had in the industry. I have to ask which is more rotten? The builder that forks over the "consideration" or the SOB that takes it? I'm a lot more pissed to find that we had commissioners with such a bad rep than I am to know that builders are more than happy to cooperat

Have you never been to a zoning meeting? Seriously, you don't have to have your JD to see what a "symbiotic relationship" the P&Z board and the previous commission had with the RBMD's. Obviously there isn't any proof on paper (yet) but the reality of the situation is that I mentioned that I was from Paulding county in the company of a group of developers and contractors in Brunswick Ga, and they all laughed. They called PRD "paid residential development". It's a statewide joke. Draw your own conclusions.

Thanks NJ. I see "cruise" but not vacation, which I am pretty sure I saw in a post by a supporter before that. I will back off until we get some clarification of what she will be doing.
-
Some clarification is certainly in order then. Do you have any way of finding the true nature of the previous committment?
-
I'm sure it was NJ who said that she had a previous committment, but I will admit to not remembering exactly where the first instance of the use of vacation or cruise was. I'm of the belief that it was from a supporter of hers, but if I am perpetuating a myth, then I am completely wrong.

First.....a fee is a tax for a service, and theoretically the revenues should go directly to pay for that service. That is everywhere but Georgia. The fees go directly into the general fund, where they are doled back out. Nearly all fee collecting agencies, even the Environmental Protection Division, State parks, Tag offices, and others, never see all of that money back. Some don't see a dime, like the $1.50 cell phone fees that were supposed to go to 911 call centers. It is all treated just like income or sales tax. This must change. Second.....myself and others have talked to Will a

I'll check him out. Butch Truck's nephew Derek and a lady named Susan Tedeschi have joined forces to make a powerful and talented blues and southern rock group they have dubbed as "soul stew revival" or more commonly known as the Butch Trucks Susan Tedeschi Band. Another young lady who has taken guitar blues to heart is Laurie Morvan. Trucks was sitting in with Buddy Guy at age 12, and while Morvan didn't discover Blues until college, she sounds like the illegitimate child of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bonnie Rait. They are all keeping the tradition of true roots musical talent, not manufactured

What a great story. I have always thought that a person who does the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do is a better rounded person than the one who does it out of fear of where they will spend a suposed afterlife.

I watched it until 10 and wasn't impressed, but I'm no longer their target audience. The performances looked well rehearsed and the set was awesome, but the awards seemed to be very hip-hop/rap centric. That's more the MTV target than anything. It certainly wasn't the Grammys. Just to remind some folks that Bieber isn't necessarily all that and a bag of chips even for a youngster, compare and contrast the raw musical talent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DayCrQWJXuI JMHO, but actual musical talents will live on long after pre pubescent hair talents like Bieber are relegated to t

18 year olds can serve alcohol in a restaurant or a bar in the State of Georgia as long as the local jurisdiction does not have more restrictive laws. No need for 21 to take it to the table in most jurisdictions.
-
It is perfectly legal for a person between 18 and 21 to serve liquor in the State of Georgia. The local jurisdiction may adopt stricter regulations. Alcohol and Tobacco Division, GDOR - FAQ Employee Age Requirements Does State law require employees to be a certain age to simply work in a package store? A person must be 18 years of age or older to be employed in a retail package store regardless of the tasks assigned. Managers and licensee’s must be 21 years of age or older. Local licensing jurisdictions may have adopted stricter ordinances. Official Code of Georgia Annotated §

I understand why he should request rezoning for a garden that size. Technically, it's agriculture, and not residential. What I don't understand is why they don't just drop the citation after he successfully rezoned the plot. That's just vindictive and petty. The idea behind zoning and quality of life regulations is to insure that folks don't intrude on another's rights to enjoy their property, not to fill the coffers of a historically corrupt county government.

That would make an interesting debate question wouldn't it?
-
Those of you so concerned about the letter behind Will's name, and how that may affect his "power" in Atlanta should think back to the 2002 election. Were you all voting for Democrats then because they were in power? And those who think that nothing is coming from the Democratic representatives, should know that Republicans hold only 34 of the 56 senate seats and 107 of the 180 house seats. That's a solid majority to be sure, but not one that lends itself to running roughshod over the entire Democratic membership. It is also interesting to note that nearly every major piece of legislatio

If the sides know the questions in advance, you are correct, you will hear the statements of their campaign staff. If the questions are spontaneous from the audience or are asked by a neutral third party, then they have no chance to memorize an anwser. The latter is the type of debate that is being proposed. In a debate the two sides get the chance to answer the exact same question, and to rebut each other's position in a very public forum. They don't just get to pontificate on whatever subject they think they own, which is what they tend to do door to door. I have met both candidates,

burning of Qurans on Sept. 11 by a Florida church

The Imam said that to relocate it now would be a sign of weakness in the Islamic world, so he will not and can not move it for fear of reprisal. He did allow as had he known in the beginning that it would cause such a furor, he would have located it elsewhere. What a piece of work. He knew full well what he was doing. He was offered a land trade by the City long before this thing blew up in his face. He may be seen by some as a moderate because he doesn't advocate a Jihad to wipe the infidels from the face of the earth. If those are the standards within his religion to be called a moderate, -

All organized religion is about power. I certainly don't believe any conspiracy theory about elections when petty human interactions are such an obvious and substantive culprit. -

I'm well past over it. The fact that we are still talking about it is what angers me. It's like some very sad reality TV show where the winner gets to die in the manner of their choosing. We are debating the actions of social outcasts and partisan theocratic activists whose actions ultimately don't amount to a hill of beans. We are the ones lending importance to what is basically to an argument over whose feelings are hurt the most and who deserves that huge chip on their shoulder, and now apologists for one side bring up the specter of violence. The whole dam discussion over both subjects -

Blue, I am so freaking over this. I am sick and tired of walking on egg shells because of what some dogmatic a$$hole in some far away yurt might do. Screw each and every one of them. We all know for a fact that the location of the Mosque logically upsets a lot of people who were hurt by ISLAMIC terrorists on that day. We all know that if the "moderate" Imam had any compassion whatsoever, he would have voluntarily taken offers of a land trade months ago, and we know that the sh%thead has every right to build there and he is going to build there just to prove a point. I don't give a good
