I love SonVolt, even if I can't understand half of what Farrar says. Highways and Cigarettes is American poetry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiGrpY7h92M

Sending good thoughts her way.

How can you narrow it down. Everything from The Who to Patsy Cline, Cash, and SRV with a little Paul Thorn, Kentucky Headhunters, Mindy Smith Shooter Jennings, Sonvolt, Susan Tedeschi, and Dwight Yoakham thrown in for good measure. But you are never gonna beat Doc Watson in a pinch.

Global Warming Scientists Rethink How to Frame Their Argument
lotstodo replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My statement was that Dr, Jones said that there was no statistically significant global warming in the last 15 years. That is exactly what he said. What the hell is your point. Your rant is of no significance nor is it a rebuttal to my argument whatsoever. Just continue to ignore the facts of the case in deference to the politics if you wish, but I will state again that the so called science behind AGW is highly questionable at best and complete bunk in all likelihood. It is certainly not worthy of sending the industrialized world back in time and crippling their economies for decades to c -
Global Warming Scientists Rethink How to Frame Their Argument

While you are quick to bring up the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine petition, which was indeed a hoax, you seem to have overlooked The petition sent to the IPCC (see page 242) and signed by over 700 renown scientists. You overlook the fact that no less an authority than NASA climate boss, Dr. John S. Theon is a skeptic, and declared that computer climate models are "useless". You also forgot that Dr. Phil Jones, the Climate Research Unit Director at East Anglia, admitted that there has been no statistically significant warming in over 15 years in spite of increased carbon load, and he -

This photo of global warming protesters says about all we need to know about where AGW support is coming from. it's a political movement, not a scientific one. -

Global Warming Scientists Rethink How to Frame Their Argument

Pubby, explain the Midieval warming period and how CO2 emissions caused it. Explain how if man made CO2 comprises only 3.225% of CO2 in the atmosphere, and warmists want to cut all man made CO2 by less than half, even if you accept the fallacy that CO2 is the cause of GW, how will this minuscule change affect climate? Speaking of minuscule, given that water vapor is the most powerful and plentiful greenhouse gas (responsible for 95% of the blanket), and the fact that all of the CO2 in the atmosphere is responsible for only 3.618% of the effect, and the fact that man made CO2 is responsible f -
In investigative reports published in today's AJC and the November 12th AJC, the report charges that Cobb County diverted funds from the water system to other uses. The report further charges that water rates were increased rapidly while property taxes were lowered for Cobb residents. Tens, and perhaps hundreds of millions of dollars are said to be be involved. Since Paulding gets our water from Cobb, it would appear that the net result is Paulding County residents subsidizing property tax reductions for Cobb residents. This is another reason that we need to do everything possible to becom

Jim Morrison Getting a Pardon After Being Dead 40 years?
lotstodo replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I guess I misunderstood you when you said that "the charges may have been due to Morrison's political views, and there is a question as to whether he really did anything at all." Also, Morrison was no "hippie" in the classic sense. He was a product of the times but far more of a poet and a performance artist even though he was saddled with alcoholism. Danny Sugarman wrote an excellent bio of Morrison titled "No One Here Gets Out Alive" that you might enjoy if you are a fan. Personally i think he was a tormented genius, but that's just my opinion. -
I've got a Question about Employment Laws
lotstodo replied to tuscanytrailer's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The short answer is no there is no such requirement. This is perfectly legal. Most companies won't call employees in for less than 4 hours of work just as a common courtesy, but they can call you in for however long they wish. Most Union contracts also place a 4 hour minimum in the contract. -

http://paulding.com/forum/index.php?/topic/258193-governor-of-florida-will-seek-pardon-for-jim-morrison/page__view__findpost__p__3317518 ETA, he most certainly did "something". He repeatedly yelled, and I quote "You're all a bunch of F&(king idiots, what are you going to do about it" at the crowd, he removed his shirt and encouraged the crowd to "get naked", which many of them did, and he and Krieger engaged in what appeared to be a drunken simulated oral sex act. All of this is recorded. The only thing in question was whether or not he exposed his penis. Now one has to conside -
In fact as far back as June 2001, the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine found that medicare reimbursements had little correlation to actual costs, and that for many visits and procedures, physicians were in fact losing money on every Medicare patient. Another study conducted in 2008 by the Health Economics Resource Center, a government agency, came to a similar conclusion when they stated that the Medicare physician fee schedule is set by a relative value scale for services provided, and that "Reimbursement may be lower than actual cost of care incurred by provide

Global Warming Scientists Rethink How to Frame Their Argument
lotstodo replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They need to rethink their scientific methods. When you start from a conclusion, you will find evidence to support that conclusion to the exclusion of all other evidence to the contrary. They are actively engaged in a campaign to prove anthropogenic global warming, not a research program to predict the future climate. There is entirely too much evidence to suggest that warming is both cyclical and not anthropogenic, and it has been admittedly swept under the table by the warmists in the quest for research grants and notoriety. They have been swept up in their own propaganda. They have also -
You really think that as a teacher in Georgia you pay the entire cost of your health insurance through your premium deduction? You are very mistaken. The majority of the cost of your health insurance is provided as a benefit by the State of Georgia. They don't just negotiate a rate, they pay most of the tab. The State of Georgia is also self insured, meaning that they actually pay the claims from a fund administered by BCBS, Cigna, or another administrator.

No sweety. He has fixed costs such as his pay, his nurses pay, his staff pay, his light bill, his rent, his insurance, his supplies, his equipment....you get the picture. He takes that number and divides it by the number of minutes worked in a year and comes up with a rate by the minute that allows him to break even. A seven minute office visit by a Medicare patient pays him $8 less than that number. For instance if his operation costs him $9 per minute ($63 per 7 minute visit) in expenses, and Medicare reimburses him $55, he loses $8 on that visit. He does make a profit on his self pay

It's interesting that the annual "Doc fix" (the annual $1-2 Billion bill to increase payments required to keep the doctors accepting Medicare from taking an instant 25% pay cut) was not included in the cost of Obamacare. Let them not pass it this year and then watch what happens. PS: My family Doctor told me that every Medicare patient he sees for a routine office visit costs him $8. How long could you stay in business if you lost $8 on every customer?

Wow, Ms. Mutikani should be a writer for President Obama's Press Department...."But a four-week moving average -- a better gauge of underlying labor trends -- fell to its lowest level since the week ending Aug 2, 2008." On what planet and in whose opinion other than the author's? What the four week moving average tells us, if you have been following along, is that month 5, which was June, the month in which the government fired 225K census workers creating a horrendous month, was replaced by this November, where total non-farm payroll was statistically unchanged. She also quotes their own ob

Just start paying college players a modest stipend and end most of the enticement to sell jerseys for hundreds of dollars or for "dad" to get a little sumpin sumpin....(without junior's knowledge of course...). It's all about the power and the money and the NCAA is as competent an investigative body as Barney Fife. The kid cheated just as surely as I am typing this, and everybody knows it. Just because there isn't video of him and dear old pops laughing about the scam over Sunday dinner, I guess it's OK. Other less notable players have completely lost their college and thus their potent

Exactly what we have done. We have over the air in up to 1080i, (about 40 channels) Hulu, Channelsurfing.net, and content providers own websites, such as TNT, Discovery, and USA, and we get maybe 90% of what we used to pay $100 per month for absolutely free. If you add a $9 per month Netflix subscription, you come out way on top. CATV is dying, and AT&T will be happy to set you up.

Symantec lists it as a W32.Koobface worm. W32.Koobface is a worm that spreads through social networking sites. W32.Koobface, an anagram of Facebook, is a worm that spreads primarily through social networking sites (hence the name) and uses compromised computers to build a peer-to-peer botnet. A compromised computer contacts other compromised computers to receive commands in a peer-to-peer fashion. The botnet is used to install additional pay-per-install malware on the compromised computer as well as hijack search queries to display advertisements. W32.Koobface Make sure that your -
