How were the crowds at your voting site?
lotstodo replied to The Sound Guy's topic in Paulding County NEWS
FB, there is no good reason why you have to wait so long, but maybe go back and try again later? Your vote might be the one that decides a race. Again I'm sorry folks in your precinct are having such a problem. -
Put at least 20% down, and hopefully you can unload it without being upside down if you need too. You also get out of paying PMI with a 20% down payment which lowers the monthly payment. My experience has been that cars built after 2000 or so are far more reliable than their predecessors. I used to worry about Mrs. LTD in a car with over 75K, and now a well maintained car can go 150K easily without major repair. I understand you being leery of a used car without knowing it's history though.

Mrs LTD just finished voting. She said that the line is a bit shorter now at Taylor Farm Park, about 45 minutes or so. -
You go girl! Friends, acquaintances, and compadrés can disagree without becoming hostile. You are among the few that I know has done her homework. You never have your own set of facts, and you understand that two folks can study the same situation and plot two different courses of action without either of them being stupid. It's pretty obvious who here lacks that understanding.

I voted last week, but Mrs. LTD has been in line at Taylor Farm Park since before 9AM and still hasn't called me to say she is done. She said that the line went pretty far down the sidewalk. Folks, It's a good sign that there are long lines. This means that we are all exercising or right and performing our duty to vote. Do you want me, SurePip, Intruder, PSD, or The Postman making the decision for you? I didn't think so. Everybody Cowboy up and make a difference. If you don't vote don't carp about the results. -
Ninety percent of the people reading this are clueless as to why you would do that to yourself when you can get an 18% credit card with a limit in excess of your annual salary. The rest of us are preparing for a retirement without having to rely on Uncle Sugar to pay our bills. Personal responsibility.....what a concept.

First of all, I agree with you that not all "conservatives" think alike just like all "liberals" don't. I have refrained from engaging either of the authors mentioned except in very limited form, because they are both very adamant that a Democrat, any Democrat, is an unbearable evil, and they are often willing to cross some lines to make that point. They know where I stand in this race, but they have also refrained from poking the bear so to speak, because we sometimes agree on other issues, and I don't begrudge them their opinion, and they don't begrudge me mine even when we don't agree.

I set up an ACE in South Georgia for a client about 8 years ago. The way they work is that you have to order nearly everything from them or their approved vendors, somewhat limiting your ability to compete locally in a metropolitan area. How ACE Corporate makes money is through these "wholesale" sales. They generally don't restrict your retail price and offer discounts on featured items and advertising co-op dollars on those items. The big selling point for ACE is their quality and the ability to get practically anything in no more than a week, even hard to find hardware. if you want a chea

If I may interject, this sweetheart deal was designed to sunset, but has been renewed every time it has come up (3 renewals I think). The first renewal was understandable, because Delta was still in dire straights, but that is no longer the case. It should be allowed to sunset, and any effort to sneak it's renewal in at the last minute should be defeated. Will, correct me if I am mis-characterizing our previous conversation, but we also discussed the fact that the entire revenue system including incentives and State tax credits for specific interests has not been comprehensively reviewed

Thanks MRNN. Unlike the Governor's race, we have an excellent alternative to a tainted Republican candidate. I think that Will will do a fine job representing the people of east Paulding County. He has really studied the problems we face, and although we don't agree 100% (who does?) he offers some very creative and fiscally conservative solutions to education, taxes, quality growth, and balancing the budget. He is much more than a letter behind a name.

No one can guarantee that they can end teacher furloughs without raising taxes. They are writing a check that their butt may not be able to cash. Nobody likes the idea of teacher furloughs, but the fact of the mater is that education funding as a percentage of the overall State Budget has increased during the recession and they have still been deemed unavoidable by many local boards faced with reduced overall funding. The money has to come from somewhere. Will has said that he will try to end furloughs, and that's the most honest answer there is.

That figure was what I remember hearing on WSB. I don't know if it is correct of not. The point is that the money is gone. I don't know Sam personally and I haven't seen his books. Quite frankly I think that all the talk about auditing his books is totally meaningless, because he will have to go bankrupt to get out of his contract, and he has to prove bankruptcy in court. Only an idiot would fake a bankruptcy, and from what I can see Sam is no idiot. He got caught up in the recession and underestimated the impact of indigent care. Everybody wants to point fingers and quite frankly tha

When Austin was in charge of the Planning and Zoning Board, he told me point blank in open session that he had never seen a residential development in Paulding county that was self supporting and never expected to. I asked him if he honestly expected the taxpayers of Paulding county to pay for PRD in this county, and he answered yes, that is the cost of growth. I say "Bull crap". This county has for too long raised property taxes to fund infrastructure for low end residential development. Development that was in large part carried out by those developers politically and financially connected

It's just like bidding on any government contract. You put in a bid that you think will both get you the contract and make you a profit. Sam underestimated the impact of the recession on folk's ability to pay their bills. It isn't the county's fault for accepting the lowest legitimate bid. Sam figured wrong and lost. That's just how it works. I'm not saying that we as taxpayers and users of the service shouldn't revisit or renegotiate the contract, but we (the county and taxpayers) certainly aren't required to. If Sam says that he can no longer survive under the current contract and

Prices on groceries expected to increase signigicantly...

The wheat and corn crops in Russia and Eastern Europe were rather poor, and wheat, corn, and soybeans are interchangeable as animal feed. The US crop was the third largest on record, but high demand due to the 15% ethanol regulations for domestic gasoline and increased US exports due to the bad weather in Russia and Eastern Europe, will make worldwide supplies tighter than usual. As Msgastorm pointed out, this will affect winter meat, dairy, and poultry prices also. -
That's what I want to hear!

Many ambulance services generally (not always) bill the patient directly and the patient turns the bill in to their insurance. They do this because they are not able to pre-screen patients and verify insurance coverage, if any, and copayment before providing their service. If the bill goes unpaid for a period of time and is uncollectable, or the patient is obviously indigent, the county pays a negotiated fee per run out of a budget for the service, or pays the company an up front fee per year for indigent care. I'm not sure which method Paulding uses, but either way, once the fund is exhaust

Absolutely 100% wrong. The voice overs were done in a studio by actors. Those voices you hear ARE NOT actual reporters asking Deal actual questions. Listen to it again. Hullinger even says ,correctly I might add, that one of the voices even had a New Jersey accent. The whole commercial is a fabrication from whole cloth.

We now eat there regularly. Great food and friendly staff.

And now the flip side of the commercial wars. Roy caught fabricating a Deal confrontation that never existed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ouh_IHyEHo4

He spent some time in Florida back in the 60's, and he had friends in the Melbourne area. They used to go to the beach in Indialantic on occasion, and one day, I guess it was in '67, he and a buddy just walked up to a bunch of us and started talking about surfing. We talked for about 20 or 30 minutes about the beach, him being born in Melbourne, being a military brat too, and FSU. It wasn't until he became really famous a couple of years later that we realized we had a brush with rock greatness.

Lord yes. I went to a funeral for a dear highschool friend a couple of years back and struck up a conversation with a woman that I didn't think I knew. We talked for about 5 minutes, and I began to wonder how she knew all the same people that I did, and me not know her......turns out that she was one of the prettiest girls in school who happened to be a beach bunny....and we not only knew each other but we dated several time in school. She looks like an older Cruella Deville now thanks to the sun. But I guess that I have little room to talk since I was a toothpick back then and now carr
