They are calling it an "exercise" by TSA and Homeland Security if you believe that. They wouldn't tell us if there was a direct threat.

I would start checking Craig's List for parts. Widen your search for Alabama too.

I've seen low balling and then swarms of change orders when the scum bags claim that the real work wasn't in the original written quote. Folks are too quick to listen to some BS line and too slow to read the contract. Even when I tell them that their quote is below my cost they don't see the red flags until they have signed on the dotted line. I've gotten several jobs back after my customers learned their lesson. Words to live by: "The contract says what the contract says." What the sales weasel says isn't part of the contract. Parol evidence is useless.

Being aware of your surroundings and of potential danger is one thing. Assuming that every middle aged man who says "excuse me" to a college student is a serial rapist is another. I can guarantee you that If I ask for directions and some little twerp maces me , I will be the one calling the cops, and said twerp may be jailed for assault. What has this world come to where two people can't have a simple short conversation on the street. .

Then you need to have the name of the legal entity or individual behind the DBA. This should be ( but isn't always) on the check that was issued. You will be wasting your time if you sue the fictitious business, because it is not a legal person but only an alias. The backers of the fictitious business name are supposed to be registered with the Clerk of the Superior Court in the County in which the business resides. That is the person or corporation to be sued in the case of a DBA. The filing would look something John Jones v Jim Smith, DBA XYZ Company, or John Jones v. ABC Incorporated DB

Go to small claims and file against the CORPORATION (make sure it isn't a DBA), which is the legal entity that issued the check and the legal entity with whom you have an employment agreement. The returned checks are considered evidence that the money was owed and not payed. If there is a stub with payroll tax deductions show them that also to prove that the money was related to employment. The rules for going after corporate leadership as an individual have to do with legalities far beyond a simple bad check. You can go to the sheriff's office and swear out a warrant also, but this wil

I hope that this means I don't have to drive to Birmingham any more to get reasonably priced flights to the west coast.

Thoughts on the BOE SPLOST on the Nov 2nd Ballot?
lotstodo replied to The Sound Guy's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Kim I think what everybody is concerned about is the lack of specificity in what the money would go to. I know that five years out can cause some minor changes in plans, but after the Gym and Office debacle, folks are understandably a bit gun shy. The way it is written, it appears that all monies not going to past general obligation bonds could be used to purchase property with not even one dime going to actual capital improvements. I understand that property is cheap right now, but JMHO, we should use the lull in residential construction to get rid of trailers at existing schools first. -
We have ATT telephone and DSL, and have had no problems. The DSL guy said to wait a year or so on Uverse, since they are having some minor problems with bandwidth that should be fixed as the network is built out and compression schemes are refined.

We had deplorable customer no-service from them, taking over 4 months and some 30 telephone calls to move a line to a new pole, as well as not even sending somebody out to address reception problems in the last two months. I dumped them and bought an antenna and a set up a Windows Media Center Computer with a TV card. I have a two tuner DVR, access to cable programming through HULU, and 38 over the air channels in much better quality than cable. The best part is that after installing the equipment, it's all free for life. If I want on demand movies I can buy a $9 Netflix subscription and h

Assuming that Will's numbers are accurate, she missed 50 meetings in 8 years. Assuming that Madea's numbers are accurate, there were a total of 192 meetings. Third grade math will tell you that she was absent over 1/4 of the time. That meets most peoples definition of "that many". I don't know about you, but I would be fired if I failed to show up and put in a full day 25% of the time, and I would fire any employee that did. I don't think that is a half truth at all.

Braddock's Campaign Disclosures under Ethics Investigation

Pubby, she did report a $9000 loan from her business, but apparently not the in kind contribution. This indicates to me that she was either a dumba$$ of an accountant or that she was intentionally hiding the in kind contribution, not relying upon the recent SCOTUS decision as her out. It is certainly worth a look by the so called ethics commission. The problem is that they meet when they want and review what they want, and report what they want when they want, and bottom line they aren't going to do anything prior to the election. -
Braddock's Campaign Disclosures under Ethics Investigation

An official complaint was filed by George Anderson on September 10th, George calls himself a citizen activist. He makes it his personal mission to see to it that the State Ethics commission is aware of potential misdeeds and does it's job. Some folks call him a hero, some call him a busybody. He brought down Charles Walker, Bill Campbell, and Linda Shrenko, and sued to have Richardson's divorce proceeding unsealed. so he is both bipartisan and usually accurate. I don't believe that an official investigation has been opened yet, just the complaint filed. -

Maybe a special election would afford us the "do over" we so desperately need. -
Figure out the difference between weather and climate and then get back to me. While you are at it, prove that either one is Anthropogenic.

Not only that, but she would be far more electable than Deal. NJ and I had this discussion before the primaries, and what I feared is what's happening now. He has just too many skeletons in his closet to inspire the confidence of independents in a Georgia general election. I'm afraid that by making Deal the candidate, the Republicans gave the election to Barnes and the Democrats. -

God I miss Karen. I swear I'm going to write her in. -
I think we saw a larger increase last year based upon an industry wide fear of the unknown. We all do it. If you knew that you would have to spend more to make less next year, wouldn't you maximize profit this year? It is just good sense. This year we see small increases due to the bill, and we see insurers and companies working to squeeze more out of the plans while they can, instead of raising prices. Last year there was no known rational market price for health insurance, and this year there is. One major exception will be related to the economy as a whole, and not to the bill. Busine

The bill won't take affect until 2013 to 2015. What's your point. Only small changes, mostly affecting Medicaid and programs like Peachcare, have gone into affect. BTW, it sounds like your employer has found a free market solution to the dilemma of rising medical costs. Good for them.

OMG...I forgot about the last episode of the second Bob Newhart show, when he woke up in bed with Susanne Pleshette (his wife from the first series) just to realize that the entire second series was a dream. I never laughed so hard in my life.
