I have strong wind and nonstop lightening in Burnt hickory

Not much other than wind going on here in my neck of New Hope. -
Hands down VERIZON. Their customer service and coverage is the best. We've had Verizon for all but 2 of the past 10 years when I bought my husband the first camera phone which at the time was not available through Verizon. We almost immediately started counting down the days till we could switch back. I don't have a I-phone and it wasn't going to let me cast my verizon vote unless I voted on the I-phone as well so I did. Just wanted to let you know.

Does anyone remember the storms of 2009
brown*eyed*girl replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Was 09 the year that we got the hail as well? If so we were out of town but did come home to a mess. We ended up getting a new roof out of that storm but it seems like that may have been 08. Maybe 09 was the one with all the damage in downtown Atlanta. Man I don't usually think of myself as old but I was thinking the Tornado storm was in 2010 and the hail as in 09. Either way as long as no one gets hurt I love a good storm. -
The royal wedding..who plans to watch?
brown*eyed*girl replied to jennilyn77's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm planning to watch. My son has a field trip that day so I may have to TiVo part of it. I too got up to watch Charles and Diana's wedding. I was in middle school at the time visiting my Dad over Summer break. I remember some sort of uproar when one of the TV stations had hired someone who read lips to tell the viewing audience what the various guests were saying. I also remember the night of Diana's crash. I was very briefly annoyed when I think it was Nash Bridges that was interrupted with the news but once I heard why I stayed up all night watching. It was so sad and unbelie -
Yeah, I would agree since it's before 9:00pm there probably isn't a lot of complaining you can do if there even is a place to complain to. It is true about the creepy men who drive them. As a kid all you think about it the nice man who comes around with ice cream. I don't think you look at them as creepy until you become a parent. Maybe some of us moms should get together and start our own ice cream truck business. Yeah, I think some good ole soccer or baseball or softball moms would be great for the ice cream truck industry. Of course I'd probably be stuffing my face with Chocolat

No, I haven't heard of any that late on Saturday, but I think that there is going to be one on Sunday at the West Paulding campus of West Ridge Church that meets at Poole Elementary. I'm not sure what time it is at though.

RecycleBank Is A Good Way To Do Some Banking
brown*eyed*girl replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Even though I am technically not getting paid I recently switched trash companies and am paying less for recycling and trash service than I had been for just trash. My bill went from @$45-50 a quarter for trash only to $35 for trash and recycling. The container for the recycling is only slightly smaller than my trash container. On trash day two trucks come by at different times. One for trash and the other for recycling. Both containers were provided for free. I have also noticed that some of the other trash companies have started doing recycling as well so I do think feel like Pauldi -
A prayer for her daughter ( I LOVE THIS!)

Aww... I love it too! Thanks for sharing that. -
I just hate hearing about stuff like this happening. I just wish these girls had hung in there. If just seems like if they had each other, I don't know they both must have just felt so hopeless for them both to do it together.

LOL~ when he first made the top 20 I so googled both of them to see who he most looked like. My kids were like "Who?" They had no idea who either one of them were. I haven't watched tonight's episode yet. I've got company coming and have been cleaning. I hope to get to it before tomorrow nights show. I did catch a little of Survivor though.

My sister ordered hers online. I don't remember from where but I will ask her sometime this week. Her kids are on Spring Break and will be coming later in the week for a visit. I've always wanted a bed like hers so thanks for reminding me.

I think that Once upon a Child in Kennesaw might pay up front. I haven't been there in years. It is across from the mall in the TJMaxx strip mall.

I am making beef stroganoff, it has been years
brown*eyed*girl replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I had the absolute BEST Beef Stroganoff at a street fair during a trip to Europe back in 1990. I have always wanted to make it but never knew how. I did buy the Hamburger Helper a few times but it wasn't nearly as juicy and was lacking in the flavor department. Once you have had the homemade version well, it just doesn't compare. I will have to try one of these recipes. -
Human Trafficing Is As Serious As Drug Trafficing
brown*eyed*girl replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have heard that Atlanta is one of the "biggest hubs" for human trafficking in the US. I was shocked. Here is an article about it: http://news.change.org/stories/putting-faces-to-the-statistics-child-sex-trafficking-in-atlanta There is a store called Wellspring Treasures in Kennesaw across from the Mall whose proceeds go to help the survivors of childhood abuse and trafficking. I went by there last week. They have some pretty nice stuff (second hand store all donated items). You can check out their facebook page at Wellspring Treasures Kennesaw. -
That is true but I believe it is still Earth Day as well. Easter tends to move around as does Good Friday but Earth Day as far as I know has been on April 22nd, 1970. How perfect for us to celebrate the Earth that GOD gave us on Good Friday this year!

Ours took about two weeks. It may have been even less. Whatever the date Turbo gave us was right on. The state showed up a little earlier. I think the closer to April 15th you file the longer it takes. We thought we were going to owe so we took our time this year. We ended up getting a little back but it didn't last long.

No she doesn't deserve "Mom of the Year" but if she felt she was about to snap and felt it was in the best interest of everyone (especially the kids) to get away than I don't blame her. I sure wish that mother in Texas who drowned her 5 children would have just disappeared for a week or so. Or Susan Smith in I believe South Carolina who drove her kids in the family car into a lake and claimed she'd been car jacked (I don't remember all the details). I think there are many worse things she could have done. No one knows what is really going on. It may not have been the smartest move on
