  1. Oh. My. Goodness. Can I come live with you!? Your hydrangeas are absolutely breathtaking! How do you keep everything looking so perfect and healthy (ie, not dead like my flowers)? Please share tips! My yard is doing better this year now that I am religious about watering, but it still isn't as healthy as it could be. Plus the deer thinking my yard is a salad bar isn't helping my efforts any.
  2. Just now saw this thread... I went past this accident right after it happened (before any EMS backup got there). It looked as if the guy appeared to wipe out on the curve. There were already two good Samaritans with him, so I didn't stop, but he appeared to be ok and was up walking around. I can't even tell you how often I am SEVERELY tailgated while on Dabbs Bridge Road even when going 5-10 over the speed limit. Most people drive 55-60 on there when the speed limit is 35!
  3. Nope... good old Paulding County Georgia... Unfortunately.
  4. OMG, this is the EXACT same situation my sister went through a month ago!! Basically, the house was on the market with a bank, went to auction (and didn't meet reserve), went to auction again, and then back to the bank. The bank that owned it had NO FREAKIN IDEA what was going on... Everytime my sister's realtor called to ask a question about submitting an offer she was told something different. They finally got the ok to submit an offer to the bank (after the house came back to the bank from the auction house), and the bank confirmed they received their offer. This was o
  5. You guys sound like us! Our power bill was $54 this month (our house is just under 4,000sqft) It's amazing how much you can save by just paying attention to the energy that you use, and making a conscious effort to not waste it.
  6. Ok, that was the most hilarious reply ever...
  7. She is SO FLIPPIN CUTE!!! You made that tutu? That is ridiculously awesome!
  8. Yay! Everyone please share their favorite recipes using the Philly Cooking Creme as an ingredient!! I got the Garlic flavor and the Santa Fe flavor and searched and searched for a recipe... Couldn't find much so I just went with the recipe on the container (ie, Garlic cooking creme, noodles, grilled chicken). It was good, but I did notice it turned out pretty thick (even with adding milk). Next time I will add even more!
  9. I know! I was just watching that! It was so interesting!
  10. Revolution for our Kitties Comfortis and Heartguard for our Dogs... but switching them to Trifexis as soon as we run out of these two.
  11. For a pet-friendly ant killer... Pour boiling (or super hot) water mixed with a squeeze of Dawn dish washing liquid directly on the mound. I actually used this one today!
  12. We are just about to get our house painted for the first time and are going to get estimates from a few different places... Who in the area is professional, reasonably priced, and does a quality job? I would love to hear GOOD experiences (please PM me if you want to give a "heads up" on a certain company to watch out for), I don't really want to turn this into a thread bashing anyone. Thanks for your input!
  13. LOVE the Rome Braves!! If you are ever going to a Tuesday game, bring a Kraft Singles package wrapper and you can buy one ticket and get one free! This deal goes through Sept 6th, so there is plenty of time to take advantage! More info is here: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/events/kraft_landing_2011.jsp

    WOW!

There has been a lot of controversy over some of the people featured on this TV show as they are "allegedly" committing coupon fraud in order to get their totals so low. Here's a link to the article with specific examples: http://www.jillcataldo.com/node/16170#comment-96482 Ie, one of the ladies would purchase a 2oz package of lunch meet when the coupon was for a 12-16oz package... Or buying one small single-serving yogurt when the coupon was for a 4-pack. But the "family barcodes" worked on both sizes so the coupon would still scan. Pretty eye opening, and very dishonest!!
  15. My friend from college just got pre-approved for a $400,000 loan and she is a public school teacher! She even said herself that she couldn't believe they gave them such a high pre-approval amount as their mortgage would be way more than she brings home for the entire month! Obviously, they factored in her husband's income too but this is still way out of their means to have a mortgage that large (her words, not mine).
  16. Don't be afraid (or feel bad) for holding him back if that is what your gut is telling you. My parents almost had my sister (who is now in her mid 20's) repeat pre-K, but decided at the last minute just to let her go on to Kindergarten... and she cried every. single. day. for the first two months. Even in highschool she hated being the youngest in her class as she was always the "last" to be able to do things (ie, drive, etc). However she started college at 17 which was kinda cool.
  17. Yep, looks like I'm going to have to invest in some highly-toxic bug poison... These suckers are WAY worse this year than I ever remember them being. I have never had to carry a tennis racket every time I take the dogs out to potty, check the mail, or walk to my car. It's ridiculous! I noticed them going underneath one of our shingles on our roof, so that is where their nest might be hiding. I also think they may have one in our gutter down-spout. Thanks for all the tips. I'm glad that there are others that despise these things as much as I do!
  18. You are looking at my arch nemesis: I HATE red wasps...These suckers are MEAN!! They chase us around the yard, and dive-bomb unprovoked... It's gotten so bad that I have to take a tennis racket with me anytime I go outside! My neighbors probably think I've lost my mind running around the yard swinging a tennis racket at thin air. Anyone know a good solution to keep these devils on their best behavior? (ie, the more dead the better) I hesitate to use the super-toxic chemicals as we have pets, so if there is a safer alternative that would be preferred. And for the reco
  19. Lead Mountain Road is beautiful! Puckett Road off of Lead Mountain is a "must see" too if you are ever out that way again (tons of horse farms, a one land bridge, so pretty!). It will be on the right if you are coming from Dabbs Bridge and it will bring you straight to downtown Emerson where Doug's Restaurant is located if you keep going through the four-way stop. Cute area!
  20. I just have the regular purple model, not the one with the ball. It's awesome! You'll love it!
  21. My thoughts exactly!!! My Dyson Animal is the only vacuum I've owned that has been able to keep up with my pets AND not break after a year or two. We've had ours going on 4 years and it works just as good today as the day I bought it. If you do get this model, the rotating upholstery power attachment is AMAZING!! I can de-fur my entire couch in about 90 seconds.
  22. Or they misplaced/misfiled his chart... however most healthcare facilities have everything (test results, medical notes, etc) on the computer anyways, so he could have gotten it that way too. Sounds like it just wasn't prepared at all!
  23. The first "red flag" for me would have been when the doctor I had been seeing for 13 YEARS(!!!) said "Are you Mr.____? I don't think we've met, I'm Dr.______" Scary!!! Sounds like this Dr's behavior is a malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen...
  24. My mom is a flight attendant and fly's to Narita Japan on a weekly basis. She just happened to pick up a trip to Moscow otherwise she would have been there. She was supposed to go back to Japan tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure all flights to Narita will be canceled as the airport is closed. Glad all of our troops are safe at the bases! It is going to take them quite some time to recover from something of this level.
  25. Salad Dressing. Yep, salad dressing. I will only buy the "Simply Dressed" brand by Marzetti. It's by far the best thing I have ever had. All-natural, made with EVOO, sea salt, and canola oil, without the crap (preservatives, trans fat, high fructose corn syrup, msg, artificial flavors). So good! I haven't seen it anywhere else but at Publix and Whole Foods. It is pricey (for salad dressing), but so worth it!
