Walmart has all of their Christmas-related stuff for 50% off as of yesterday. Still a lot of cute stuff left if you need anything for next year. I seem to always buy my wrapping paper the year before when it is like $.50 a roll VS $5.00 a roll retail.

WSBTV app is awesome for news & instant weather radar! Pandora for music. GeniusScan for scanning things (receipts). Love this app!! Siri is just plain awesome!!!! You can verbally ask any question and it will search the web and give you the answer (ie "who won the superbowl in 1986?" or "how long do I cook a Boston butt in a crock pot?")

Now you guys have me wanting BBQ!!!

We had a good experience with Underpriced Furniture in Norcross (right off of I-85). It's a drive, but it was definitely worth it! Our couch was way less there than everywhere else we checked, they delivered next day, and almost five years (and two dogs) later it is in great shape!

We went tonight and it was AWESOME as usual!! Thank you Felix Family!!

Me too, but I hope at the same time this massive project doesn't take away all of Emerson's "Small town" charm... I mean they don't even have a "real" stoplight. I always liked driving through there because of how simple it is there. And 16 major-league-sized ball fields?!? Is there really a demand for that many fields in one location? Seems a bit over kill to me.

MVA-I: station 11

That's a miracle that no one was hurt! Definitely rare for a head on collision! Thanks for the updates! -
You are absolutely right! Standards and quality will definitely play a huge part in my planning (later down the line), but right now I am just trying to get a little "overall experience" feedback from people that done this on their own. I knew pcommers would jump in and give me their thoughts (they are good at that! ) which is exactly what I'm looking for while we are in the pre-pre-planning stages. Just looking for a starting place...

I saw this today and had to share, it was shot in Hiram! I totally felt like this guy on Black Friday!! I'm sure you all will recognize the places... I love when he is running outside of JCP Could you imaging if you were out shopping and saw this guy? And here is another one of an AWESOME Hallelujah Chorus Flashmob in a mall food court:

Thank you for the tips everyone!! I appreciate the feedback! Yeah, this was my first thought too... "Am I crazy?!?" But from talking to others, it is do-able, but you have to be willing to take your time and do it right. I think we are going to! I talked to one guy that said "just make sure you start right, otherwise it will be hell!" lol Thank you for your comments! We are definitely going to rent a nailer (another person I talked to suggested that). I went up to Calhoun to check out their "deals" but found the best prices were actually closer to home. So, we are contemplating ripping up the carpet on our main level and putting down hardwood. We already have solid Oak hardwood in our entry hall and sunroom, but want to get rid of the carpet all together. Am I crazy for thinking we can do this on our own? Both myself and hubby are pretty handy, and are not scared of power tools. Obviously the $$ saved on labor is a huge bonus, and while it will take awhile, I don't picture it as being all that difficult. If you installed your own HW floors I would love to hear your experiences, do's and dont's, and any other advice!

Goodness!! It sounds like this K store needs to hire new people!! I believe I recently saw a coupon in some of the Sunday Paper ads... I think it was for RiteAid or Walgreens. I believe they give you a $25 gift card for switching.

AMEN! Me too! I wouldn't worry about any of this stuff... you sound like a completely normal person to me! They probably just want to "get to know you" and put your face with your resume when they are looking over everything (ie, and make sure you don't look like a crazed lunatic who just got out of the mental ward) Plus, as long as you don't submit a photo that looks like this, you should be good! hehe

I normally go "shop till you drop" on Black Friday... but this year I had to work. I did get out to Garden Ridge for their $3.99 scrubs before work (I work in the medical field and sooo needed new ones!). During my lunch break I attempted to hit up Kohls... BAD idea. Ended up standing in line forever and having to put back the items I had picked out. Oh well. Went back to Kohl's (attempt #2) after my shift and it was much much better!! Got 600 thread count sheets for the inlaws for $40 with my 15% off (they were normally $179.99!) Not bad! Then hit up Staples not expecting to f

Does the $8.50 minimum wage not apply to babysitting? I would think $9 - $10 an hour would sound about right.

And alot of times it DOES!! When I applied for my current job (almost 2 years ago) I did everything "wrong" in terms of the "proper way" to apply for a job... I sent the office manager a personal email (with my resume and a photo attached) letting her know that I was really interested in working with them, and why I would be a good fit for the position. The next day I got a phone call for an interview, and after a several-step interview process I got the job. Come to find out, over 50 people applied for the position and she said my photo and email "really stood out" to them am

I totally can't wait to have kids some day... this is a riot!!

If I was a parent I wouldn't be too concerned. Logically, if someone was really out to hurt others, they would not tell them about it before hand (ie. Columbine). It was probably a kid wanting to get out of a math test...

EPHS Gets Ripped by Former Kicker Now at McEachern
aw2008 replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yeah, he is totally playing the "i'm not welcome here" pitty party then!! The statement about 5A is probably the real reason he left... not the teammates (which he made it seem like in the article) -
EPHS Gets Ripped by Former Kicker Now at McEachern
aw2008 replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
There is two sides to every coin... My guess is that the players at EPHS were not very open or friendly to their new teammate. This may have been due to: #1. The kid taking their friend's spot on the team. #2. The kid being very good at what he does, and knows it... (ie, ego) If the EPHS players were smart, they would have looked at this kid as an asset to their team and made him feel welcome... but instead they lost him to another school who was willing to be friendly and give him a chance. Bottom like: Treat others like you want to be treated. I wouldn't have wanted to stay -
I'm not familiar with Lost Mountain Park... are there alot of hiking trails around there? I'm sure they have been searching the area with a fine tooth comb. Did he frequently go to this park? Something just doesn't "feel right" about this situation... it makes me wonder if he got picked up by someone and his truck dumped at the park. LL, since you knew him, how were his "street smarts"? Would he be weary of someone he didn't know? Have the police finger-printed his truck?

This made me giggle! hehe You must have done something right... you both made it to third grade!

Dude, Totally!! The QT QuikShakes are the best thing ever! And they are about 1/2 the price compared to other places.
