Here's a good summary of the situation I found. Although in The Blaze (a Glenn Beck site), it's an AP story. As I stated before...started with the shooting of a black guy by police last week, but now has gone far beyond that. I had heard the same thing.

From what I've read, that was the trigger, but it was simmering a good while before that. Now it just appears to be anarchy for anarchy's sake. That, and the British government is looking at decreasing some handouts. Go figure.

I'm so sorry. My heart is so sad. But when I hear of people like this, I always think how marvelous it is that so many are sad over his walking on ahead. The real tragedy would be if he were the sort of person where no one cared. God bless him and comfort his family during this time.

The rifle is a .22, and I think the shotgun is a 20 gauge. It's not a pump shotgun. I don't know anything more than that. They're pretty old; I'd say 40-50 years at least.

Georgia has a lot of great state parks, but Vogel is truly one of the prettiest. One could make a nice series of mini-vacations visiting all the state parks. That would be a great thing to do with kids, and not real expensive, either. There's also a new one in Coweta County...Chattahoochee Bend, I think it is. http://www.gastateparks.org/parks/

I have two long guns (one rifle, one shotgun) that belonged to Daddy. I would like to get one of those nifty pump Mossberg shotguns that holds like 16 or 18 shells. Where is a good place to either sell the guns and buy the new one, or trade? I live in NE Paulding and work in Kennesaw; don't really want to drive to east Egypt. I know about the Lakeside (I think it is) shop there by Leslie's Pool in Acworth, but haven't heard anything about them.

It's my opinion that Washington (and prolly on the state level, too) is run by a bunch of geeky super-idealistic (one way or the other) 25-year-olds who do all the grunt work.

The story I heard on the radio was that the another kid took a toy away from the 5-year-old and he hit the other kid. Then the teacher encouraged (for lack of a better word) the other kids to stand around and hit the 5-year-old. I completely agree with you. I don't care what he did...if he was awful, call her to come get him. NO EXCUSE for this. IF it happened as she says.
