  1. I saw the same on FB today. Just checked it out with snopes, and it does say that it is true.
  2. I have a great resource that my kids love. time4learning.com as well as bigiqkids.com you can pay monthly, and it is fully interactive which really can help keep them attentive and involved.
  3. I called PC Health Dept this morning and they have the H1N1 mist. They don't expect the injection until the end of October.
  4. Years ago I worked for an oral surgeon on the east coast. We had "the gold man" who came around and bought the gold from teeth that had been extracted from patients. They always used the money the buy staff lunch. Not the same situation, but still always grossed me out.
  5. My mother-in-law is famous for these! My favorites are: prostate=prostrate, disoriented=disorientated.
  6. If she likes Junie B, then I would suggest the Judy Moody or Stink series books by Megan McDonald.
  7. I have experienced Hurricane damage, flooding, etc while living in other states and they never made the kids make up the days because they considered it "a natural disaster" Wondering if Paulding will do the same.
  8. This type of situation really brings out the best in people, or should I say "reveals how wonderful" some people are.
  9. The ignorance amazes me. Kids think they are old enough to have sex, and are not prepared for the consequences. So sad that this little baby could have had a chance in life with a family who would give ANYTHING to have him. What a sad, sad waste of life. My sister trekked to Siberia to adopt my niece.
  10. Life is too short not to do what you would like with your hair. I grow my past my shoulders, then get a short pixie about every two years, then I let it grow again. Keeps life interesting, and is very easy to take care of. Met my DH when I had really short hair, and he likes it either way. Go for it!!
  11. I wrote this down when you posted it, and just recently made this in the crockpot. Wow! what a great recipe. Did everything the same, just cooked on low all day in the crock, and then served with mashed potatoes! Thanks!
  12. Is it regular crying or serious agony? Like doubled over and rolling around type pain?
  13. I am with you, and it is very scary. I can totally understand how you feel. One of my children has a compromised immune system due to a rare disease. My entire family has received the regular flu shot annually since the diagnosis. I am terrified about what the effects of a new, barely tested vaccine will have on his system. I too will follow whatever his immunologist suggests, but it is quite scary. It looks like a no-win situation to me, and yes any flu could be deadly for my child as well. God bless us all!!
  14. Did you see the one where pregnant women and children were being tested with the new vaccine? Now that is scary stuff. What gets me the most is what happened in the 70s...more damage was done from the vaccine that the actual flu. Can you say Guillain Barre? Now that is super scary!
  15. I'm am a Maryland girl born and raised, spent every summer in Ocean City. I can remember it being chilly--even in August. I was there this year around 4th of July, it was warmer than I rememver as a child but it was no where near 88. While I agree with the Global Warming do you think it could also have something to do with the Hurricane churning out there? My parents live there, and said they are calling for 15 foot waves this weekend.
  16. Damn! Too bad this didn't come along 20 years ago. 3 kids later and I am no longer a 36C...I amore like a "36 long" There would be way too much danger of a black eye!
  17. Save your money on the hair remover/slougher thingy all it did was scrap a few layers off my skin but the hair was still there! The Bumpits I have no idea but the commercial are hysterical. Just couldn't imagine walking around with bumped hair.

    Diet

DH and I have done Tony Horton series since they came out. P90X was awesome. If you stick to the program, you will lose weight and get in great shape even if you don't follow their diet. Two weeks ago we started their (same company Beach Body) INSANITY series. Makes P90X look like a walk in the park...I think I am going to die!!!
  19. My first trip to Mexico was on a group trip with the company dh works for. They let you choose excursions, and we were in a new port for each. Two days we chose water things, so I did not see much and lived in my blissful little vacation ignorance. On the day I chose the shopping excursion in Mazatlan while dh played golf with customers. What an eye-opener. If I had more cash on me I would have given more. Little kids begging on the street corner, or selling candies. Moms and kids also lined up on the docks as we came off the ship.
  20. Wow! Could you imagine? We are the most obese population out there. Imagine what would happen to the general health of the US population if we couldn't have our sugar!
  21. That is incredibly cool. Thanks for sharing...I can't wait to see the next one.
  22. I agree completely about the vomiting, but I think this is a different situation. Lazy parent is the problem. Any poo that has been in the kids pants long enough (in water) cannot be contained within any kind of pants. Even when they are required to wear the swim diaper and plastic pants over it still escapes! You wouldn't believe how many times the pool has been shut down. 24hrs time and time again closed. Even ruined holidays for the entire pool that was packed. Then they did mandatory bathroom breaks on the hour. Parents started letting kids whiz their pants on the concrete and the
  23. Can't count the times it happened at our community pool. The rule is swim diaper plus plastic pants over top and on top of that 10 minute "bathroom breaks" every hour so that "parents remember to take kids to the bathroom" unreal.
