I wouldn't change my lifestyle one lick. Maybe get better shoes, but that's it. I would probably blow it all on various forms of charity over the next fifty or so years. There is this dream I have about getting all the street children in Moscow into good schools and warm homes. Chances are I would do something like that. Find the places where my help would have the greatest impact and go from there.

Prayer coming your way. All the best!

Mitt Romney gave one of the best closing speeches I have heard in any presidential debate of modern times. I honestly think he won this debate. Now having said that, this article will likely be all over the media airwaves within the next 24 hours thanks to the exchange the two had on Detroit and the auto industry. Come to your own conclusion as to whether he was wise or foolish. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/19/opinion/19romney.html?adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1329233131-%2FUbc8vP5%2F1x13HjVAzFRSg&_r=1&

True. But government policies can reduce the possibility of the next generation becoming nicotine addicts. It's just one of many forces involved in that effort.

In NYC I would put the smoking population somewhere at or near 13% at this point. Chapel Hill, NC maybe 7%. Palo Alto, CA less than 5%. Most of you will hate my opinion on this. But as a guy who met a lot of MBA's who worked for Big Tobacco I can tell you it's not anywhere near a fair fight. You take folks who have been successful marketers and give them billions of dollars to spend, and they will find those emerging consumers who are the most susceptible to the addictive garbage that lines their pockets. Tobacco, junk food, soda, quick fix diets. They are all nothing more than the

All the prayers and love for your girl (and her family). -
If you would like to go out for a Friday lunch, gratis, let me know. We all need a nice pick me up and this is the least I can do for such a wonderful person.
-
Awesome! Still sending prayers for a speedy recovery and a strong business launch. Take care!

Glenn, prayers headed to the GF, the family, AND YOU. You are one hell of a fighter and a super good guy. Do whatever you can in the moment you are in... that's all that God can expect from any of us. All the best!

Fix it. Call Salvage Hunter at (770) 943-9979. They can likely track down an affordable engine with decent mileage since the 2.7L was used in several Kia models of that era. I can also refer you to someone who can do the job. It's not rocket science. Should only cost about $300 to $500 labor wise. If you decide to sell it, let me know. I can easily offer $1000 but to be frank, you would be better off getting another engine in it. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

BILL CLINTON.........YOU LOVE HIM OR YOU HATE HIM
macarose replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I keep on going about my life, knowing that no candidate will represent my disparate ideas. 20 years ago I did my part to help get Bill Clinton elected. We had a massive (emphasis on that word) campaign at Emory University back in 1992 and when he won the election, I wound up on the front cover of the Emory Wheel. To this day I think that's the only newspaper in America that didn't have Clinton on their front page on the day after the election. As for his presidency, if it weren't for his marital transgressions, he would have likely been regarded as one of the best presidents of th -
There have been quite a lot of studies on these programs. It turns out that the most cost effective thing to do these days is to fly an optometrist, with equipment, to areas where people usually don't have access to eye care. However, there is such a dire and widespread need for this that frames are still worth donating these days. Contact your local Lions Club. As long as the frames are functional and still in good shape, it should work. Don't bother if the frames have bends or other structural issues. Most donated frames end up thrown away due to poor condition. Hope this helps..

Propaganda on both sides. Charter schools can work in certain situations and with strong infrastructures in place. However, it's not the panacea or the proverbial demon that both sides seem to evoke with these debates.

I wait almost 20 years on my second baby...

AGG, anything you need... we're here. My wife and I had one child that suffered developmental delays. We gave her speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, hypnotherapy, and pretty much any activity you can think of throughout the first five years. We even had her attend two nursery schools during her year before kindergarten. She is now an amazingly strong and successful kid. Basketball star, chess champion, target student... and a truly loving big sister who would do anything for her little brother. As you already know, give your kid the best of everything, and that -
My wife is going for four days. I used to be the auctioneer there. Then we moved to Chapel Hill and time passed by. Now I want to get back into it. But they have two people who are already on that detail. Oh well!

Student journalists boycott UGA's Red and Black
macarose replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Every one of my articles has been published without 'management review'. My primary site http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com lets me post whenever I wish. However I do have my work edited at other sites. 600+ articles, and no one has told me I can't write about a given topic or censored my work in any way. I think these students are better off publishing their work without the oversight of these glorified nannies. A professional journalist should be able to investigate, explore and write about a given subject without the approval of a governing body. -
Wow Mr. Dis. All i can say is that we're all here for you if you just want to vent every once in a while. You already realize that you're trying to destroy the bad behavior and not the good kid. He sounds like an impulsive hands-on type of kid who needs boundaries. Just keep on fighting the fight and, when needed, find professionals who can help you navigate through the truly rough spots. All the best!

Why use my own name here? Because I've found that folks tend to be a lot less nasty to you when they realize you're willing to put your real name behind your ideas. My ideas may not be all that great. But at least I let everyone know where I stand. I used to post under different handles at multiple sites back in my younger days. It was fun to be known as 'Bones' or 'N.G. Neer'. These days I've written so many articles, I figure it's only right to keep my online name consistent, and let that be it.

1. Go to EXPERTS who can help your family with the OCD issues. 2. Get counseling for the family from someone who has a record of success. You may want to take your time and find the right one for your family. 3. Stop hitting the kid and stop hating the kid. When I read your posts it appears that hate and self-righteousness are being used to fill the wounds of a troubling situation. As someone has already said, this can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. 4. Let the kid go out and see 'his world' a bit. The first thing I thought of when I read up on all the Star Wars hobbies is that mayb

I don't put too much equity into racial garbage. Defining voting blocs by race is like defining voters by stereotypes. It's a backwards strategy that only reflects the backwards mentality of a bygone era. There is one strong indicator that was apparently ignored by the writer of that article. Economic issues now largely take precedent over social issues. Until the economy begins the slow recovery, this reality of economic need, more than anything else, will guide the agenda of this state.

I would suggest the Olive Tree. Excellent little eatery in Downtown Hiram... and the alcohol flows freely there. They even have a nice bar.

I will offer the Cliff Notes version... 1) Not true 2) Not true in practice. 3) Why? I strongly disagree with giving preference to one group over another. 4) 'Pro-job' legislation? Isn't that a contradiction in terms? 5) Special interest group... don't care... 6) Okay, and I represent an income tax cut for local barbers. 7) First time I've heard of it. Need specifics 9) Another special interest group. 10) Populist position that will result in millions spent in legal bills if it is ever passed. I agree with the principle. But it would be a legal morass for years. 11) Not only

the Morrisons for throwing an excellent fund raising party. An interesting thing happened at that get together that I guess deserves a mention here. My wife and I got a nice quiet booth and were enjoying the festivities. Since this was a social gathering of like minded souls, I decided to go off and introduce myself to surepip and a few other folks. 5 minutes turned into 10 minutes... turned into 15 minutes... The waitress comes to my wife and asks, "Is the other person with you going to order anything?" My wife says, "No, he's just hanging out with some friends." Since
