  1. One other thing... If I ever feel the need to publish something that may be considered defamatory, I write Pubby first. There was a case where someone stated that there may have been an abduction of a young adult in Paulding County... and I forwarded information to Pubby that showed the case may not be as clearcut as the folks at P.com may be lead to believe. I decided not to publish the information... and the truth came out anyway. Topics like the one you started only seek to make other folks seem less than worthy of their right to work. That's a nasty cliff to be on the edge
  2. A non-issue that doesn't deserve to get a rise out of folks. As for this quote from Pubby... "Personally, I'd recommend dropping the idea that someone having ever been arrested is such a horrible mark on their personality that you feel necessary to discriminate against them as if they were a sub-species." Very well put.
  3. Yes. Without getting too mathematical about it.
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-18201077 Normally I avoid posting these types of things. But the fact that we still are sending more than a billion to this 'ally' simply makes me speechless.
  5. Tomorrow. Dugout. Lunch. Noon. I'm in...
  6. Fantastic news! Great job one and all!
  7. I first read this as... "honored at Waffle House" I guess they got their very own listings on the jukebox. Right next to the Waffle House song.
  8. I can do the Dugout. I was about to try to veto the Pizza Hut idea. That stuff is to pizza what the Yugo was to cars. It would be nice to put some names to some faces...
  9. "That's part of the growing problem." How much has it grown? "Americans can no longer afford to live as McEnglish Lords outside the city on a rural McEstate and drive an hour each way to work." Most Americans don't do this. Most Americans are not Micks. "It is not economically feasible any more." What? Your generalizations? Or living in the suburbs? "It is not environmentally friendly." Other than die, everything we do is environmentally unfriendly. "It harms the environment for future generations." Ahhh, yes... we call this the "We's destroyin' our chill
  10. A fellow named Calvin has done great work for me. (678) 294-8937.
  11. Autozone or Advance will read it for free. If you need a good mechanic, I can refer you to Amos Patton 770-222-9696
  12. A related question. Why do cities in Georgia have so many more officers per capita than counties do? I have seen affluent areas in the northeast and west coast where this is the case. But some of the areas (Austell and Powder Springs for instance) are nowhere near wealthy here in the South and yet their police forces are downright enormous in numbers. Did someone in city government get carried away with the popularity of the Dukes of Hazard? Or is there some logic to this madness that goes beyond raising revenues?
  13. Ditto. You and yours deserve all the best in life. God bless.

  15. I wish you the best and will pray for your family. All the love...
  16. Wow! Talk about an ideological morass... We are 15 trillion in debt folks. This is not a Republican, Democratic, or 'Independent' based problem. It is a fiscal problem that has it's roots in the majority of Americans towing the line of collective ignorance. Here's the long and short of it. Neither party as a whole gives a flip about anything except the interests that fund them. Period. End of story. You want the problems solved? It won't. The system as it stands is designed to aggregate debt and pass it forward. As for the reduction in state government funding... it's long ove
  17. Mom's Club would be a pretty good thing for her. Spending her time teaching and reading to the child... going to the park and playground... going to kiddie events during the weekend. It's amazing how much there is to do when you focus on the needs of those around you. There is also Facebook, Bulletin Baords for various hobbies, trivia nights, etc. Whatever it is... I hope she enjoys it.
  18. Too late. They're back. I wrote an article for The Truth About Cars so it's not a total loss.
  19. No, not a native. Most of my friends have families of their own so tonight will be more about 'social solitude'. Or maybe finding a nice conversation somewhere.
  20. Wow! Only 1 response? I guess I'm staying home then. Gonna watch the grass grow so I can mow it tomorrow.
  21. My wife was wonderful enough to give me a free evening to do as I wish. Now i just have to figure out what to do? So what would you recommend in Paulding for a middle-aged fellow who is looking for mild (as in PG) entertainment?
  22. Just keep one thing in mind folks. The most selfless and generous person in the history of our republic is a person known as... Anonymous I feel for the negativity here. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't pursue the positive opportunities ten times over and do it in a way that lends dignity and goodwill to all of us. "Siempre Mejor!" as they say in Costa Rica. Always better.
