  1. Pre marital counseling is a whole lot cheaper than marriage counseling, and most definitely easier than divorce. I believe a good counselor or pastor will have the couple discuss topics that they ordinarily would take for granted, not realizing how destructive the unspoken expectations are to the marriage later- money, budgeting, sexual relations, parenting/ having kids, household chores, overall expectations, etc. . . It kind of takes the pressure off to have someone else ask the questions & then neither or you are the "bad guy" for bringing up the taboo taken for granted subjects.
  2. Its the worst medicine to come off of! It can help with moderate pain, or at least, it did for me. But, to stop taking it- LORD its so easy to get addicted to in order to not deal with the withdrawl symptoms. I've had other pain meds in my life & this was the worst as far as residual effects! Twitchy legs, tickle in the throat & you.cannot.sleep. I'd see if the Dr would prescribe something else.
  3. Idea for the next Pcom get-toegther!!! Have a "speed-date" type meeting where we switch around & talk with each other & then have to guess who is who I'm really starting to get around though- I've now met: Copschick, Tow, Lovemuppet, JohnBoy, LibertyLady, Quality Tire, CrownApp, NY Gal, Wearhouse, and the ever popular Mei lan. Wonder how many others I know that don't want to admit who they "really" are.....
  4. Funny!!! Am training to take a new position at a company I've worked for off and on for 12 years- in Kennesaw- and she says, are you on paulding.com? That starts a whole new conversation & then she divulges who she "really" is! So funny that we can talk to people and not have any clue that we know them in another realm too. . . now I can read her posts in a whole new light! Gonna miss you girl, good luck on your next endeavors!
  5. I see my husband Glad you had a great time! The guys up there are awesome with visitors & kids!!
  6. Lots of my replies were from those portraying themselves as married as well. . . I had to spend some time searching the listings until I could figure out where the ad was- GAG - anything & everything is lurking out there- all you have to do is ask...... I'm just thrilled that none of the replies came from anyone I had programmed in my phone already- or wait- maybe my name came up when they went to press send? Oh, lord I could be in real trouble now
  7. That's awesome! Happy for you! I've gone back to work "for real" as well but do let me know if you need some help with that part time gig... never did get the previous years consolidated in the same QB file, did we? Congrats again & hope this works out great for your family!
  8. Any interest in being an ambulance dispatcher? I know Clarks Ambulance is looking to fill a spot or two. They work 12 hr shifts 6a-6p or 6p-6a. Very flexible on which days/ shift you work. The dispatchers make the schedule a month ahead themselves & pick which days to work based on seniority Must know Paulding County really well, be able to type 40+ WPM & multi-task. I don't work there myself but know several who do.
  9. I am completely astounded at the replies to an ad for a married woman looking to cheat on her husband. Really. I should've kept the #s so I could post them on here to see if anybody recognized them - "I" was advertised as in the New Ga/ Villa Rica area.. had calls from folks coming into Atlanta from Miami??? And plenty of locals
  10. Its funny today. When my phone started blowing up- like vibrated off the nightstand- at 5am I was pissed. Around 4pm I started messing around with the fools who replied. Yeah, when I find out who....... Dang.
  11. My cellphone # was spammed for a craigslist sex ad. If you ever want to make someone that's the way to do it! Texts, pictures, and voice mails- over 300 of the most vulgar & vile replies by the time I got the ad removed. A few lingering texts today but nothing like yesterday!!! I still have no idea who posted it or where my info was gained from.
  12. Friday was a county furlough day. All non-emergency offices were closed. Should be business as usual come Monday.
  13. And I find it quite interesting that my daughter who attends a PUBLIC virtual school received textbooks & a computer. No fancy buildings, just the academics being taught & they can afford to supply books!!!!!
  14. and then some. Your list plus physical/emotional/verbal/sexual abuse, foreclosure, seriously debiliting accidents, suicide. Yup. . . never really know what your neighbors are dealing with, do you?
  15. My 8th grader now attends GA CyberAcademy as a virtual student. We have free time during typical school hours to volunteer- any homeschoolers with ideas? I've thought about nursing homes, assisted living, etc- what programs do you know of in which we could help make a difference? I will be volunteering along side her- not just dropping off if that broadens the scope of suggestions at all. Can we tutor low inome kids? Reading programs? Food bank, friend to an elderly person? How can I get info on these places? Thanks everyone!!
  16. Husband and I recently had some family silver priced- its over 90 years old. "We buy gold/ silver, etc." places only pay you for the value of the weight of the metal. We passed on their offer as the heirloom value was far beyond what the weight of the material was worth. If you have rings of significant value, I would look for a place that deals with valuable jewelry not a place that's just going to melt it down. If you simply want the value of the metal, have it weighed- they do it in penny weights ?? and then anyone one of those places you find on the corners these days should pay you the
  17. It is interesting- my sister who lives in FL had her wallet stolen. The thief then went on to send her ALL sorts of stuff to her home address that he "purchased for her" (purse, bra, vase, books/cds, etc!) CRAZINESS!!!! Sent her a dozen roses on HER CC to HER ADDRESS using the internet so there was no real record of where the order originated- with a card saying "Thanks for the memories, Amy"!!! She freaked. So, yes, crazy as it sounds to get a little worked up over flowers~ these days when someone has your address, phone number, name & makes those little hairs on the back of your neck s
  18. I think you would be a "bad" mom if you GAVE yor son a highly impractical vehicle for his first car. Bad on gas mileage. He's gonna have an accident (most likely, then, ok) High insurance- because he's a BOY (have you priced that part yet?) A good mom teaches her son to work for what he WANTS and helps him obtain what he NEEDS- no nonsense no frills vehicle from Point A to Point B is fine while he's earning the money to buy & maintain what he wants. They all WANT big and fancy. Reality sucks.
  19. That road will run DIRECTLY BEHIND my house if they go with the red line. I don't have a well thought out opinion at this time but it definitely has my attention.
  20. You so do NOT want a front loader. I thought I HAD to have one too- that sucker stinks. You have to leave the door open to dry it out completely. And if the seal is even a tiny bit off from dirt, lint, etc- it'll leak all over the floor!! I'm praying mine breaks soon so I can talk hubby into a top loader again! I'll sell you mine when I do
  21. I haven't been back to Mizu since I saw their health dept scores a few months ago....... If you do attempt, let me know your thoughts?
  22. Thank you for this tidbit! I'm going to check into this.
  23. They've got their MC & DOT #'s. FMCSR's, insurance, experienced drivers, etc. They've been doing this for six years. They started with a broker and stayed there. They have all of their operating authorities. I would just be scheduling loads for the drivers to pick up.
  24. I was laid off from my position as the Accounting/ HR/ Admin Manager for a mid-size construction company last year. I worked for this company for over 10 years. Two of the managers there own a trucking company and have asked me to come aboard and help their company grow as a truck dispatcher finding loads all over the US inbound & outbound. I'm a quick learner & easy to work with- but I know nothing about the transportation industry; if you want to talk PR, permits, insurance, pay apps and the like, I'm all over it! I'm not replacing anyone, there's not anyone else there to trai
