  1. He's 17. He's grown another inch ince last week. Seriously. And he's an inch & a half shorter than he's supposed to be. He broke both of his femurs hen he was 5 in a bicycle accident (went over the handlebars at a high rate of speed). In surgery, his femurs were placed side by side to fuse back together, couldn't be treated like they do an arm since its weight bearing bones. He'd be almost 6'7" otherwise! He knows he's in real trouble when momma tells him to sit down!!
  2. I can not find clothes that fit my kid (we'll talk about winter jackets later). I need jeans, dress pants & long sleeve dress shirts for my amazon size son who is über tall & skinny. He's pushing 6'5" & weighs 140 pounds. I found some 30x36 jeans online at Target, but I cannot find 38 inseam with a waist that won't swallow him whole. The "Tall" clothes in big & tall depts are too wide for him. Help?
  3. My husband had a similar problem with his F150. His key went "bad". Seriously. At the advice of the mechanic over the phone he got his spare key & it started right up!
  4. Do we really have to wait until 5:30am for them to call off school? I'm thinking ice. But even if it's dry will the buses even start when it's this cold? I get that it's winter but we're not really prepared for temperatures like what we're about to have!
  5. Not to jump on the bandwagon, but, the OP just joined today, a member (that requires $, not much, but still), so you got a membership to ask this? That $10 could have bought a couple days worth of food. . .
  6. If he's taking suboxone to get off the pain meds, that sheeze makes one STOOPID. Combining pot probably doesn't help either......
  7. Is there a local company or commerce member that makes desk nameplates? Thanks!!
  8. I didn't realize insurance companies could make you use a specific pharmacy. Personally, we've saved an astonishing amount of money moving our scripts from Publix ($15 each) to Wal-Mart ($4 each) and a couple others that are still less than $15 at Wal-Mart. I know not all pharmacies accept all insurances, but to be limited to only one pharmacy??? My husband originally had his thyroid meds filled at CVS for years but then they started having problems keeping it in stock.....
  9. Thanks Feelip! It was definitely a new sight to see out here. Does Carroll's mutual aid come from Cobb? They just seemed to be a little far from home turf.
  10. We live in the New GA area and on our way back from Villa Rica today we encountered 8 Cobb Police vehicles running emergency towards Carroll Co on Hwy 61. They weren't in a group but it was every couple of minutes another cruiser would blaze by. I hate to see things like this, I pray all of their officers are safe!
  11. Will you let me know what you have? My husband is a Paulding firefighter & I'm always looking for unique things for him!
  12. Are you collecting money or food? I would like to contribute. I'll drop one or the other by this weekend. Have you chosen your families already this year? I plan to help out a single mom with three kids that just lost her job. Oh, I have a spare fridge/freezer in my garage (it is for sale) but I can help you store the turkeys if you need some extra space. You're welcome to the garage code
  13. Will you PM me her name? I'm praying for this family, please let me know if you happen to hear of anything we can do to help the children? Stories like this break my heart- they were probably off to an ordinary day & life as they know it will never be the same. Extra grateful for my family today!
  14. From what I have been told, there was a car accident, female driver deceased; three children in the car were "ok". This happened this morning near the New Ga Ballfields on Hwy 61. Praying for this family.
  15. The library notarize for a small fee. I'm a notary, New Ga Area & would be glad to help if I'm close by.
  16. Just to clarify, that's Carrollton, KY not GA. It's still on in Carrollton, GA for Thurs.
  17. I'm not sure how that goes. If its pouring Thursday night, what are the plans? Do we still TOT or do we move it to Fri? I think we need a county Halloween coordinator. Too many variables for us common people to make decisions for ourselves We did Paulding Meadows this weekend & have a scout costume party tonight. We're already on candy oveload so we won't mis much if it is raining Thurs......
  18. We were there with 2,499 other people! Organized chos though! Good job PCRD!! Everyone seemed well behaved waiting in the line to go booth to booth. A couple of totally inappropriate adult costumes- kid event people, come on!! We has a good time & left with a bunch of candy
  19. It's the Hirm Police roadblock, they do it every few months. . . Checking ID's & seatbelts. No biggie if you're following the rules.
  20. There's a place across from the old Regions, next to Ben Strickland Park off 92 in Hiram that advertises personal loans in their windows. I don't know anything about rates or requirements, just remember seeing the business there.....
  21. That one bitty accident is gonna haunt me for years, huh? Everybody else has clean MVR's & with the boys haring the truck I'd have thought there'd be some discount- they can't both be driving the same vehicle at he same time, guess this is hybI'm not n insurance agent..... I'll get with you after I'm done at my youngest's school in the morning to see about switching that HO Policy, that's $900 SAVED a year!!!!
  22. I have Geico or auto & home, I have found MUCH cheaper home insurance through comparison quotes and even though my premiums JUMPED I can't seem to find better auto ins pricing right now. I got our voicemail CC, and sent you an email, I like the HO rate but those auto premiums... is Geico really my only option?
  23. My auto rates sky rocketed at renewal and my home owners insurance keeps creeping up. Who has helped you find the best coverages with affordable premiums? *I know several will recommend CC, he had great HO rates but his auto quote came back at $1000 more per year than I'm paying right now (and then no response to follow up emails?) Good driving records with two teenagers on the policy as well..... Suggestions welcome!
