Thanks for the nice words. It was a pleasure saving your data and especially the pictures, since they are one of the things that cannot be replaced. I appreciate your patience with me. Sometimes doing it right takes time. P.S. I made my son hide the hammer Sunday night.

Remove the battery and leave the battery compartment open. Put the mouse in a bag of rice for a day. If the are any opening that a grain of rice could fit through and be difficult or impossible to remove, but some tape over the openings and and cut or punch small holes in it that rice could not fit through. If it does not work after a day, try another day. After that, I would just buy a new mouse. As for the laptop, there is a little controversy on this issue. My opinion is when it comes to Lithium Ion Batteries they should be allowed to discharge to about 5% power remaining about once per

As far as I could tell, everyone was playing Apple products in the video. Android based phone and tablets are really beginning to take off. My guess is that in five years, Apple will only carry about 5%-10% of the phone and tablet market, which is similar to what we see today in the computer market (about 5%). By this time next year I expect that you will be able to do everything that Apple's products can do (and more) on an Android device. There is no one that has to approve every app for Android like there is at Apple. You can check out http://www.appbrain.com to see what's currently availa

Lets make sure you do not have an infection causing this. Try this: 1. Do a scan with your antivirus program. 2. Download and do scans with the following programs: Malwarebytes - you can get it at malwarebytes.org (get the free version). Spybot - safer-networking.org (it's free)

Welcome aboard! -
There's no way I could wait till Christmas unless I was locked up somewhere. I bet you will be searching the house for it after a few days. Remember that Santa is watching and he will know if you have been bad.

You are mean! I don't like the name Bing. Of course when you consider CEO Steve Ballmer's antics, I can only imagine how they came up with the name. Example below, don't watch if you are trying to relax, or have any medical conditions without talking with your doctor first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvsboPUjrGc

I don't necessarily view the demise of the spinning platters hard drive as a bad thing, but I'm against online storage. After all, we did well with the transition from floppies to hard drives. Since the computer will still need to boot there will be a storage need and at this time the answer is flash memory. Flash is not subject to mechanical wear since there are no moving parts which is a good thing. Flash memory should be more reliable and runs much faster than a hard drive. So I do not care about having spinning platters, just give me some type of on-board storage. Apple's newest MacBook A

I would probably go if I was ever in the area. As far as a second visit, no way unless they added something else that was really big. Nothing against them as I do my best to never visit a theme park to begin with. They make me tired and broke. The wife and kids love them though.

Me and my son are discussing it. He's a geeky musician as well. I like the iRock name, but Steve Jobs would probably sue me out of existence for using an "i" at the beginning of any name.

Can 'HACKERS' eventually destroy Internet Commerce?

A very good observation. The internet is by far the most common threat. However any pathway that allows data to enter a computer is a threat. I had a client this summer that had five flash drives infected. I discovered this when I plugged the first one into my computer and it attempted to infect me. -
Joe and Bud are out in the woods hunting when suddenly Bud grabs his chest and falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. Joe whips out his cell phone and calls 911. He gasps to the operator, "By thundering! - I think Bud is dead! What should I do?" The operator, in a calm soothing voice says," Just take it easy and follow my instructions. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence and then a gun shot is heard. Joe comes back on the line: "Okay, now what?"

One important point that was not mentioned in the article is that these attacks would not be possible without the millions of computer that are infected with malicious software. Part of the infections use a computer to attack websites. They are called bots and a person that executes the command to go to a website is called a bot herder. Much like a rancher controls a herd of cows, the bot herder controls a herd of computers. If we allow infected computers to remain online, the attacks will continue. I have heard of some ISP's turning off the service because they detected that a computer -
I do not think many people imagined that an iPhone or an iPad would ever be used to produce music as good as this. I'm both a geek and a musician and dieing to try this. If only Santa would bring me an iPad for Christmas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9XNfWNooz4

My favorite place to shop! The best part is that I never have to leave the house.

Dunkin Donuts coffee and usually several bags of it.. -
Thanks. This is one of the most frustrating parts for anyone that need help with a computer or any other product for that matter. I love it when they have a very heavy accent and then tell me that their name is Bob or Mary. I been tempted to ask them their real name just so I could see if I could pronounce it. The other annoying part is most of them are simply reading from a book and they choose the particular troubleshooting chart based on the reported problem. They have been trained to use the book and in some cases it seems that they actually no nothing about the particular product. Persona

Me to! I like them a little soft with a glass of milk. I like oatmeal cookies as well.

Go here assuming you are using Internet Explorer: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Block-or-allow-cookies I normally recommend the medium or medium high setting.

Thanks for the kind words. Patience is an essential virtue when you work with computers. Unfortunately I do not know as much as I once did. Age does that to a person. My two best friends are my notes and Google when it comes time to remember some things.

I will be praying for Mrs. Eula and Bro. Lamar. I can only imagine how tough this must be for both of them, especially after receiving a kidney just 11 weeks ago.
