The iPad can be either WiFi or 3G + WiFi. The 3G uses ATT's network. As for a comparison, the iPad is limited in what it can do since it is not a full function computer. It is best used for content consumption (movies, games, etc..) rather than content creation. Don't get me wrong, for what it does do, it does it much better than a netbook. A netbook is really just a baby laptop with a smaller keyboard and screen. Also the processing capabilities are not as good as a laptop since the typical netbook processor is not as powerful. As JTH pointed out, the smaller keyboard is a problem for som

The outcome of this will be interesting. I receive several calls every year requesting help snooping on a spouse. My advice is always the same: "Go see an attorney". More here: http://news.yahoo.co...g_wife_s_e_mail

Tired of spam? This guy is fighting back, but it's probably not going to make a difference unless he can put together some class action suits. More here: http://news.yahoo.co...i_spam_crusader

Without a doubt, you are the greatest evangelist that linux has ever had. If you keep this up, someone might try to have your posts moved to the religious forum. . I'm just messing with you, linux is gradually becoming a better alternative as it becomes more user friendly. Merry Christmas Linux to you.

My Doc once told me I was fat. I told him I could always lose weight, but that he was ugly and there's not much he can do about that.

Terrorist Attack on Food Supply Possible
afriendlygeek replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Buffets are the perfect target. As far eating there apart from the terrorist concern, the secret is to get there early before the food has fingerprints on it. -
It's always best to assume that everything you put on the net can be seen by anyone. The one exception is for sites that use an encrypted connection (HTTPS instead of just HTTP). In that case, only you and the encrypted site has access. Alas, but there is an exception to that as well. For sites that encrypt the login, but not the rest of the session (such as yahoo mail), your login is protected but anyone can still read your mail because they are able to hijack the login cookie which allows them to read you unencrypted mail. This is very easily done using an unencrypted WiFI network using a pr

Most of us aren't familiar with the ten distinctive barks, but consent from an animal is not really an issue. I've once offered the opportunity for a cat to sign a consent form at the vets office, obviously she could not sign it, so I did. The point being we own our animals and consent is a non-issue. Obviously I'm not in favor of bestiality and therefore my opinion is that issues of right and wrong are not always determined by consent. -
Most new default LCD TV's settings are set to give them the best possible appearance on the showroom floor of a store. Unless you live in a store, you can probably benefit by the reading the article at the following link: http://www.lcdtvbuyi...alibration.html

This would fall under exception #2. In other words, I would rather fix this for you now instead of waiting until the first of the year. You probably just need to reinstall the program that you use to edit them. Sending a PM as well.

Thanks. I basically understood that, but your explanation helped. Here's my issue: I do not know anyone that works for an American company and the best place they can afford to live is similar to the photo below. http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/11/foxconn-photo-gallery/ http://www.wired.com...as-lee-foxconn/

I have never had a good understanding of the value of various currencies. I would be willing to pay a little more for USA goods. However it is very difficult to manufacture an item that requires alot of labor. The average Chinese worker makes about $1 per hour while our minimum wage is around $7 now. It's hard to compete when your labor cost is a minimum of 7X higher.

You will have several setting options for the signal input such as cable, video 1 and antenna. Make sure it is set to antenna.

Since I have not had a day off since July 8th, I'm ready for a break. From now until January 3rd, I will only accept work in the following situations: 1. Businesses that have previously used my service and have a crisis situation. 2. Customers that I have served in the past few weeks that have questions or problems. 3. Anyone that has suffered a computer crash and desperately needs data off the drive for an upcoming event or deadline. I will retrieve the important data and burn it to a DVD, but I will not work on your computer until January 3rd. 4. If I have already committed to work on

Thanks BW. You know that us geeky types never write a phone number down since it is stored on our computers. I'm glad you could provide my number to MC. You might be feeling the love real soon. Read post #2. You may be the unknown dancer.

Thanks! No magic at all this time and you diagnosed it yourself. Am looking forward to the video of you and the other pcommer doing the happy dance.

Thanks! My top 3 keys to being a good computer tech are listed below: 1. Patience 2. Be able to explain technical information to normal people and not just other geeks. 3. Stay up to date on industry news.

I was thinking of using a blender and mixing in some ketchup to simulate blood, but I like the lawnmower approach as well. . For anyone else reading this, this was an extremely rare case that had virus and hardware issues at the same time. This can make it extremely difficult to retrieve important data.
