  1. I keep a spiral notebook and each month I write down each of the bills that have to get paid and how much each of them are. I write down how much each one is or a close estimate ( I write in the exact amount when I get the bill). I do this about mid month so that I can figure up how much I will need and am able to budget for any extras that creep in. This also helps me to make sure everything gets paid Most of mine bills are paperless. For the ones that are the same every month, I try to pre schedule those for my pay day (last working day of the month). I pay all of my bills (except
  2. Thanks. DH was going to go get crickets until I read your post to him.
  3. That video is soooooo my hubby and my princess. The only difference is that DD likes to let the fishies do flips and such as they go back into the water.....this is after she holds them, pets them, etc..
  4. Which pond were you fishing in? DH was talking about taking DD fishing there tomorrow...now I Know he is. My Princess Loves to fish. She enjoyes playing with the worms/crickets and reeling in after someone else cast out.
  5. I go through the EXACT same battle with my 17 yo son. I have decided to stop stressing over it. We will, hopefully, be moving by the end of the year and he will HAVE to clean out/up his room. Once we are moved, he should have about 6 months or so until the Navy has to deal with his ways. I keep telling him that he needs to get into the habit of keeping things tidy because if the Navy has to teach him, he Will Not enjoy it......I expect that is exactly what will happen. It is hard for me to say much to my 5yo because her room is the size of a walk in closet. Once we move, I will show her
  6. I have T Mobile and LOVE it. To be perfectly honest, I am scared to death of what things are going to be like when AT&T takes over. As for my phone, I have a peace of crap that i have had ot the last 2 years and can not wait to upgrade at the end of the month.
  7. Our's almost doubled as well....went from 132 to 258. I am being a lot more conscious about keeping that thermostat on 78 this month.
  8. Tomorrow/tonight is the shorm before the calm for us....for the next 9 days. Install the wiriing so that DH can haul the camper with our van, go get the camper and boat from my dad's house, go grocery shopping for 9 days of camping/boating, pack everything and in its respective vehicle for transport, finsih last minute laundry, give our youngest dog a hair cut and bath, take YDD to dance, get the flat fixed on the van (that is in progress right now), go to the post office. Finally, head out VERY early Sunday morning for our last family vacation....9 days of camping/boating at a state par
  9. I am right there with you. DH and I met on match.com. We talked for 10 days before we met in person. We were engaged 2.5 months later and married 2 weeks after that. First contact 10/4/99, met in person 10/14/99, married 1/15/00. We are going on 11.5 year. Oh, I do have a tattoo, but I didn't get it until we had been married 4 years
  10. Congrats!!!!! Thank you to you both. Where are you stationed at now? My son will be going through MEPS, taking the Bravo Nuke test and taking his Oath next month....all to join the Navy. DS will be on delayed enlistment until he finishes his Sr.year at HHS. Any and all advice from a veteran Navy person is greatly appreciated.
  11. My hubby will be turning 50 at the end of Sept. and I'm in the same boat...clueless as to what to get him.
  12. What happened there within the last hour or so? DS just left here headed on Hwy 61 S...towards PCHS and he said that a PSO flew past him with lights on and traffic was backed up. DS was fortunate enough that he was able to turn around and take another route towards Taylor Farm Park.
  13. Dr. Greg Bauer with Marietta OB-GYN Affiliates is the best you will find IMO. He has an office on 120 just past the Avenues and one in Marietta near Kennestone Hospital.
  14. DS just gave DH a light to go on one end of the boat so that we can take it out in the dark (per DH's request). YDD and I will give him the 2 shirts that we got him the other day tomorrow as well as a card from the DS and YDD and I have my own special card for him. I feel bad that I didn't spend near as much on him as he and the kids did me for Mother's Day but then again, I haven't said a single word about how much time and money he has put into geting our boat and motor usable (this is the boat that we paid $400 for the tri hul boat/90 horse motor and trailor). Me being the penny pin
  15. I say it all the time to my family and close friends. I am also a hugger to those I am close to. I was raised in a very affectionate family and so was DH. My youngest 2 (even my 17 yo DS) have no problem telling me or their Dad that they love us or giving me hugs. DS will even give DH a hug every now and then. My step daughter is not near a affectionate and tends to only tell us that she loves us when we give her what she wants...money. I don't have a problem with it as I know that her mother and I are as different as midnight and noon, but DS, YDD, DH and I don't stop being us...we

  17. Over the past year we have changed YDD"s daycare which not only saved us $30 a week but cut our driving down from 50 miles a day (completely out of our way) to the school being 1.5 miles from home and on our way to my work and Dh's way home. We rarely eat out. DH does all of the needed car and home repairs. Started using coupons. Spend much more time and home and use less gas. Keep the AC on 78 and use a fan to help with my hotflashes. Wash clothes and dishes late at night so that it doesn't heat up the house. DS has a job to pay for his own gas so that he can drive to school and su
  18. I am soooooo sorry for your family's loss. I can not imagine what your husband aunt is going through. All of you will be in my prayers.
  19. No, you are by NO means the only one that gets agrivated with this. More than once, I have taken the long way to my daughter's daycare so that I can avoid the lights. I deal with it most frequently at Vernoy Aiken and Old Harris Loop. I agree, these lights DEFINITELY need to be looked at.
  20. We are headed out on vacation in 1.5 week and my poor blazer is in bad need of an oil change, lube, and grease the suspension. Normally, my husband does all of this, but he simply does not have the time to do it right now. Needless to say, we don't have a regular mechanic because he does what we need done. Pcom has never steered me wrong so I'm depending on you all again. I'm looking for someone who will not break the bank....will do a good job for a reasonable price. TIA.
  21. Your post has tears rolling down my eyes. Thank you to your son and your family for making the sacrifice for our Freedom. Being that my son has made the decision to go into the Navy after graduation next year, I know I will be in your shoes before I know it. I soooooooo dread just the day he leaves for boot camp and I don't even want to think of when he will be gone longer than that.. Thank you again.
  22. I live in a Mobile Home community ( sooo not a trailor park....our lot rent is tooo high for that) that has a pool. Part of our lot rent goes to keeping up the pool. But in order to purchase a pool pass, you must also be up to date on your lot rent. It is like a priviledge. We have several rules we must follow in order to keep our pool passes....such as no loud music, no alcohol, no cut off jean shorts being used as bathing suits...and other various things often seen as trailor trash. We have a problem with people from other, site built neighborhoods, coming in and trashing up o
